Chapter 5: Bewitched Alpha

“C-Celia” Lorcan felt bad for Celia when he saw how she willingly fell on her knees to beg to her father and his father just so they could be together. 

Lorcan reaches out to Celia, wrapping his hands around her arm to try to pull her up. To Lorcan, his fuure Luna shouldn’t be bowing her head to the people who should bow their heads to her in the future. 

Celia shakes away Lorcan’s hand around her arm refusing to be pulled up. Her head didn’t even budge as she kept her head close to the ground.

“Celia, what are you doing?! Get up on your feet!” Celia’s father yells at her angrily. His vein pops under the skin of her neck as he saw how his daughter begged down on the ground for a man that wasn’t even her mate. 

Celia finally lifts up her head when he heard her father speak. She slowly stands up just as her father had commanded her. Before she could even completely stand up on both of her feet her father slaps her across her face, making her fall in surprise. 

Lorcan acts quickly and catches Celia before she falls to the ground.

“Celia!” Raven gasped worriedly about to rush to her best friend’s side but Luna Savina held her hand back, making her stop. 

Celia clutches her hot red cheek with a trembling hand as tears fall uncontrollably out of her eyes. Lorcan hugs her close, his eyes flaring in anger as he stares at the forming bruise that Celia’s father had inflicted on her. 

Celia stared at his father with hot tears in her eyes, but her father stared back at him with no remorse at all.

Raven’s heart squeezes inside her chest knowing how much her best friend is hurting right now. Getting slapped is one thing, but getting slapped by your own father is a whole different level.

Raven had met Beta Colton many times before and she has nothing bad to say about him. Beta Colton is a good beta and a good father. 

In fact for Raven, Celia inherited his kind heart from him. Beta Colton accepted Raven without any judgment or prejudice just like how his daughter did. 

Although Raven knows that Beta Colton loves Celia as his daughter, Celia always thought that his father loved her less than the way he loved her older brother. 

After Beta Colton had just slapped Celia, for sure she felt even more insecure about her father’s love towards her.

“You!” Beta Colton points a finger at his daughter. “Have you gone insane! How can you announce to everyone that you will reject your own mate without yet meeting him?! Do you want the moon goddess to hear you and curse down upon us?!”

Lorcan clenches his jaw in anger as he stared furiously at Beta Colton. He slowly stalked towards him, wanting to have his revenge after he had just hurt Celia, but Alpha Axel stops him. 

“Lorcan! Take one more step and lift a finger on Beta Colton then you can forget about being the Alpha of the Moonvalley Pack.”

Everyone’s breath hitched at Alpha Axel’s words. Even Luna Savina’s hold on my wrist stiffened when she heard her mate’s words.

“Do you think I care about that father? As long as I can be with Celia even if I have to go rogue I would do it as long as I can be with her.” Lorcan replies back with all sincerity. 

He doesn’t even have to say those words so sternly for everyone to know how serious he really is. Imagine coming from an Alpha bloodline without having a pack to rule? That would be the biggest shame that could happen from a werewolf. 

What’s even more worse was that he is willing to become a rogue for her. 

“Raven, are you alright?” Luna Savina whispers to me, but the answer was already obvious. Even with how much hard I try to hide it, the mate bond just shows everything that I feel.

I didn’t answer her question. I was afraid that my voice would break and I would start pathetically crying all over again. 

“Lorcan would you really forsake your family and your rights for a woman who is not even your mate? Your true mate is right here in front of you. Do you not really feel anything for her, not even a single drop of love?” Alpha Axel asks Lorcan once last time, giving him the chance to redeem himself. 

Lorcan finally faces his attention to Raven, their eyes meeting each other. 

Raven stood completely when their eyes met. Fireworks erupted inside her body just by the mere connection of their gaze. She felt all kinds of emotions deep inside her and she knows that Lorcan could feel the exact same thing too.

After all, it was the mate bond that was working different wonders in her body and Lorcan must feel that mate bond too. 

Lorcan disconnects his gaze from Raven, making her want more. Lorcan stares at his father this time, ready to give him his answer.

“I could definitely feel the mate bond between us, father—but’s that’s just it, only the mate bond. It’s still nothing compared to what I feel for Celia. It’s more genuine and it just comes out naturally. Celia is the person made for me, that’s what I could feel father,” Lorcan bows his head in surrender after saying the truth. 

Raven couldn’t believe it. She was in complete denial, refusing to believe Lorcan’s words. How can there be something more powerful than the mate bond? The mate bond is created by the moon goddess herself. Nothing can be more powerful than it.”

Alpha Axel’s eyes turns wide, not expecting his son’s answer. He looks like his heart was going to explode as he looks at his unfilial son. 

Before Alpha Axel could faint in anger, Belta Colton rushes to his knees and bows down before the Alpha. 

“Forgive me, Alpha. This is all my fault, I did not raise my daughter well and she has now bewitched the future Alpha. 

Please don’t take out your anger on your son or on my daughter. I was so focused on raising my eldest son, Jericho into forming him as the best beta of our pack that I neglected my other daughter. 

Because I was a bad father and did not raise my daughter well, she is now causing problems to the pack. I will willingly accept all punishments that will be given to me by the Alpha.” 

Everyone were surprised at Beta Colton’s words. 

Celia clenched her fist upon hearing her father’s words. Not only did he ruin his own reputation, but he had also just accused her in front of everybody that she “bewitched” the future Alpha.

It’s like he was saying that she seduced Lorcan, that she is no lesser than a pack slut. 

“I did not bewitch Lorcan and I had never tried to even seduce him. Lorcan and I has been in love with each other since we were little kids. How could I have bewitched him?” Celia defended herself. 

“You spoiled child, are you trying to get your father killed? Get down on your knees this instant and ask the Alpha and the future Luna for forgiveness!” Beta Colton scolds her daughter with his knees on the ground. 

“Why should I ask her for forgiveness? Is falling in love with someone a sin?” Celia shots back.

Hearing this, Beta Colton walks on his knees and falls to the ground before Raven. “Future Luna, I ask your forgiveness in behalf of my own daughter. Please don’t be hard on her in the future. I am willing to be punished for my daughter.”

Raven did not know what to do. Seeing the beta bowing his head before her feels so unreal to her. Especially that he was also her best friend’s father.

“That’s right, Raven is the future Luna of the Moonvalley Pack whether we like it or not. Raven Stein is Lorcan Russell Miles’s true mate and he must accept her in respect of the moon goddess’s decision.

The moon goddess never makes mistake and there must be a reason why she chose Raven as our Luna.”

Luna Savina runs a thumb over my hand and gives me a warm smile. 

“Now, if there is someone in our pack who refuses to accept Raven as the future Luna, feel free to leave the pack.”

The whole pack fell in silence. Even though they do not want Raven as their Luna, they also do not want to become a rogue too. They have no choice but to be with the Alpha’s wishes.

“Now this is settled. From now on, Celia and Lorcan are no longer allowed to see each other anymore.” Alpha Axel announces making the two stunned.

“Beta Colton, because you admitted your mistake I will no longer punish you. From now on, you should watch over your daughter.”

“Yes Alpha,” Beta Colton bows his head to the Alpha.
