Chapter 160: Breaking the Chains

Raven’s eyes locked on Kissa when she heard her words. Silent and unmoving, she simply stared at the unspoken question hanging in the air between them.

“Do you believe me now, Raven?” Kissa probed her even further with desperate eyes.

She gained more confidence when her words caught Raven’s attention.

Raven blinked. She clenched her jaw when her confident posture almost faltered.

“H-How did you know that I’m pregnant?” Raven stuttered when she asked.

Kissa lifted her chin when Raven did not correct her. “I told you already they are planning to kill you. You and your baby’s life will be in danger if you stay here much longer.” Kissa’s voice grew stronger.

Raven felt tightness in her chest as Kissa’s words sank in. With a trembling hand, she pressed her tight chest. With the other hand, she grabbed the wall beside her for support.

Raven bit her lower lip as she tried to calm herself. She gasped in quick and shallow breaths like she had just taken out on a run.
