JAYDEN’S P.O.V.

The farewells are never easy, and the same was the case with me. Mom and dad have deliberately not informed the entire clan that I was moving to India, permanently, or as permanently my family would allow me to. I know I would have to travel to and fro quite a lot. I mean, if mom – who had never seen Whitakers until she turned sixteen – had to travel to Romania to meet them every two-three months, then well, I would be glad if I don’t see my family every two weeks. Well, I am not glad that I would not see my family, I mean they are the best, but hey, India is almost fourteen hours away, and even with our high powered La Gualias jet, it is at least twelve hours away, it would be very tiresome!

“You will come back and say goodbye to everyone as soon as you are sure you want to live there,” Mom stressed as we gathered in the foyer and so many men loaded my luggage in the car.

Nash was shocked with the sheer number of bags I had.

NASH’S P.O.V. One month ago! “Alpha,” I knocked and entered. Alpha Dimitri was sitting in his chair, working intently on his laptop. No, actually, he was frowning at his laptop! “Ah, Nash, come in, my boy,” Alpha Dimitri smiled as he looked at me. I nodded and entered. “Please have a seat,” he pointed opposite him. “How are you, Alpha?” I asked seriously. Because what I wanted to ask of him needed him to be in good mood. And he rarely was in a good mood. “My daughter is back and healthy, I have a new son, I am wonderful,” he spoke jovially. And I grimaced. “But you don’t look or sound wonderful, what happened?” he demanded, his perceptive gaze never missing a thing. “Dad!” I started. And Alpha sighed. “You father called me this morning, yes. I had sent out notice to him last night that Jayden was released from hospital and we have announced about your union to our entire clan,” Alpha started. “That’s how he knew,” I cursed softly. “He is –” I started. “Asking

NASH’S P.O.V. I slumped back in my seat and stared at the Alpha. He was sitting in the same position but some how that sexiness had disappeared now and all I could see was alpha power rolling off him. And I swallowed. Damn it! Why was I even here without princess? She knows how to tackle her father but me… well… I contemplated calling princess here through mind link, yes, I am a coward in this sense, but the alpha started to speak, so I did not. “Nash, today, tomorrow, one month, one year, one day my daughter will leave her home and go with you to your country,” he started. And I nodded. One year! I thought perplexed but I didn’t comment. “You have known Jayden now, and you must have noticed she is different,” he continued, and I nodded again. “I, her mother and I, we have raised Jayden differently. She is a free-spirited girl who loves her freedom. If sky is the limit then for Jayden, everything is limitless. She has never been an over demanding child. She has grown up knowing

JAYDEN’S P.O.V.Present day!I bid farewell to Jared and Taron uncle and boarded our plane. As it started to take off, Nash took my purse and gave it to the airhostess for safe keeping. “Oh, my phone,” I spoke and pulled it out. “I have promised mom to text her every three hours,” I smiled. A jingling clinking sound of bottles from my purse echoed in otherwise silent plane and Nash raised his eyes at me. “Every three hours?” Nash asked. “Yep!” I nodded happily as airhostess brought drinks for us. “And what if we are busy?” he asked naughtily. “Then we will take a break!” I replied, laughing. The plane took off and I bid farewell to my family through mind link. I could tell they were incredibly sad, but they didn’t show it to me now. I know they did not wish to upset me any more. “I love you,” he spoke as he kissed my cheek. I knew he could see sadness on my face. “I love you too,” I sighed. “Nothing else could have made me leave my family, you know!” And he grinned

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. We landed in the cover of dark, and I could barely see anything around. “Welcome home, my princess,” Nash grinned as he grabbed my hand and we stepped out of the airplane together. The first I noticed was how hot it was here. Being raised on the ocean shores, I have learnt to live in humid environment, but this was way too hot and humid. “You will get used to it,” he grinned as he saw me wipe my forehead for sweat. A convoy of six cars was waiting for us. And the moment we stepped out of the plane, people of all six cars stepped out, and out came running Devi, Nash’s sister. “You are here,” Devi screamed as she hugged, not Nash, but me…! I was taken aback for a moment but then I hugged her back. “You won’t believe for how long I have been waiting for you to come home.” She exclaimed excitedly. “Seriously?” I asked, confused. Someone cleared throat and I saw Nash’s mom standing just behind Devi. “Mom, let me present to you your future daughter-in-law,”

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. I didn’t understand what he meant but I didn’t comment much. He had warned me about his dad before though, if not about his mother or sister! I mean come on, who does not know how to fight. His mother was no where to be seen, she must have headed inside. How weird and rude! If I were to return home even after a week, my mom would have walked inside with me… talking, laughing, and making us feel welcome! And here was Nash’s mother, so cold! “So Devi, you don’t know how to fight or defend yourself?” I continued our conversation from before. “Nope,” she spoke as she hopped in her steps. “But what if you are attacked?” I demanded. “Then my security will fight for me,” she shrugged. “And you?” I demanded. “What would you do in the meantime?” “I will – well, I will let them fight for me!” and she shrugged again and grinned stupidly again. “And if you have no security around you?” I demanded. “Our security is not so lax that it would allow an alpha female t

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. I honestly did not know what to do or even how to react in this bloody fucked up situation. His father, oh my Goddess, his father was a bloody asshole. I took out my phone and started to type a message to my mom… ‘Mom, this is a fucked up place!’ I typed. But then thought how mom and dad would react to it. So, I deleted it. Instead, I typed, ‘Reached India, mom. All is fine. Talk to you tomorrow.’ I felt like I was cheating on my family by not telling them instantly what was wrong here. But how could I. I mean, I have no words. Nash is such a different person here. Back home, back in South Africa, he was all lovey dovey, protective, caring person. But now, here, in presence of his parents, he was nothing but a puppet who could not even look up at his own father. Alright, I understand, that alphas command a respect and almost no one is allowed to look them even in the eyes out of respect, but hello! He was his son… I not just looked my father, the alpha, in his ey

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. “Hypocrite, I know,” Devi grinned. “But this is what it is… And sooner you learn to adjust, the sooner you will move to our floor, in your mate’s room.” “So!” I growled, “your parents have kept me here to teach me a lesson or to tame me?” “I don’t know Jayden, but all I know is that it is what it is…” Devi sighed. I picked up a bag to pull out my training clothes. In a mood like this, I really wanted to go for a run… “Don’t bother unpacking, I will get girls tomorrow to unpack for you,” Devi flapped her hand in my direction. “I want to go for a run,” I spoke as I pulled out my running clothes and Devi’s eyes popped open. “Where is your top?” she demanded. “What top?” I asked. “To put on top of that,” she pointed at my sports vest. I chewed my tongue, but I did take out a top to put on my vest. “But even in that, you would not be able to go out,” she sighed. “We have a gym on the ninth floor, you can go there. I can give you my key card.” “I canno

NASH’S P.O.V. ‘So, you are finally back,’ dad’s voice boomed in my head the moment we entered the building that was my home in India. ‘Yes, dad, we are,’ I replied solemnly. ‘And you thought your mate can do whatever she wants?’ dad grunted. ‘What is she doing dad?’ I asked with a sigh. Princess was chatting with Devi as of now, and while her expressions were shocked, my focus was on dad now. ‘How are you even comfortable with your mate showing so much of her skin?’ dad demanded. ‘It is a beautiful skin,’ I commented. ‘Men will eat her alive,’ dad growled. ‘If any is able to touch her,’ I smirked. ‘Are you hearing what she is saying to our daughter?’ I heard mom’s whisper beside dad, and dad’s ears perked up to listen to Jayden. “And you?” Jayden asked Devi seriously. “What would you do in the meantime?” “I will – well, let them fight for me!” and Devi just shrugged and grinned stupidly at my mate. “And if you have no security around you?” Jayden demanded. “

Three years later. The stage was set, and the ceremonies were done. Well, at least the ones for which humans were invited as well. And now was the time to perform the most important ceremony of all… and now only the wolves remained! And among those were Nash’s family – immediate and extended, my parents, grandparents, my brothers and sisters, Dr Serena, Rhea and Taron uncle’s family."Why are so many bollywood actors here?" I asked Devi as we all sat in our seats, staring expectantly at the stage, where Nash's father was standing."They all are wolves, did you not know?" Devi grinned. "Dad let's them use their charm to get popular and stuff. Helps keep control," she winked."Wow! Isn't it like dangerous? What if they lose control?" I was shocked."Well," Devi shrugged. "Nothing super dangerous has happened so far..."I was about to ask her what has happened so far, but Nash's father cleared his throat and I looked up ahead.“I am your Alpha,” Nash’s father spoke to the assembled crowd

And he finally looked in our direction.“Who hired you to kidnap Devi?” I demanded as he certainly cannot be a mastermind behind all this.“One look, please,” and he hissed.“Are you a vampire?” I asked, confused.“He is in the sun,” Jared muttered. But then who was he?“He is a human,” Nash muttered. “He was not affected by wolfsbane, and he is not affected by sun!”“He is stupid, Jayden,” Myra spoke from her spot. “Very stupid. He was taking orders from someone else… we could not hear because our wolves are dormant, but he has been saying and doing whatever the man on the phone was saying!”And at this, Jared searched the man’s pocket and pulled out his phone.“A temporary phone,” Jared informed as he

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. Putting down first four was no problem. Jared and I were unmatched fighters, and those who know about us, would not dare face us. But I guess these men did not know about us, because they did fight, no, they tried to fight and well, now they are dead! We climbed to the second floor and instead of two men as Nash told us, we found three, but no issues, they were dealt with as well. But as the third one caught us by surprise, it was thrown down two floors with loud clattering sound and thuds. And it rendered all the occupants of the top floor quiet. ‘Fuck!’ Jared swore in my head. ‘Well,’ I sighed as we looked up, and saw two men looking down at us. They yelled and started climbing down stairs in anger. ‘Let them come,’ I spoke to Jared who took his stance to fight. And the moment the men approached us, I used my inhuman speed and pushed them down two floors, and they went tumbling down with another thud... Jared twisted his mouth and looked down at their crumpled

I could sense Jared’s and Nash’s retort coming but it was Nash’s father who spoke first, ‘NO!’ he thundered. ‘Whatever may happen, I will not trade one daughter for another… this is not how things are done in my family!’ And my heart thudded. ‘Daughter?’ I whispered to myself. ‘You may consider me a devil, Jayden, but I do consider you as my daughter. I may not love you as much your parents love you, or I love Devi, please excuse that but you just came in my life, but you are my daughter. Always remember that…’ And my eyes welled. ‘Not the time to get emotional,’ Faye barked in my head. ‘Or have you forgotten what that man said about you?’ ‘What did he say about you?’ Nash and Jared demanded. ‘Later!’ I hissed. ‘Focus!’ ‘

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. ‘Jayden… Jayden…’ both Nash and Jared were growling in my head. ‘Stop distracting me, and Nash, link me to your dad so I know what shit is unfurling inside…’ I ordered. ‘I am going to kill you woman,’ Nash growled. ‘First, let me become a woman,’ I laughed but then I heard Nash’s dad’s voice in my head too. ‘Where are you, Avinash?’ Nash’s father asked. ‘Very close,’ Nash informed. ‘How many men inside, alpha,’ I asked as I crouched low in the shed. ‘Half a dozen,’ Nash’s father was not at all surprised that I had linked to him like this. ‘Weapons?’ I asked as I looked back, and found a man snoozing in the shed. ‘Guns, grenades, automatics, these men are prepared to eradicate us,’ Nash’s father informed. ‘Not if we kill them first, isn’t it?’ I spoke as I crept over to the sleeping men and spoke, ‘hold on to the line, Nash…’ and I snapped the neck of the sleeping men in a heartbeat. ‘One down,’ I spoke with a smile as I looked around. JAYDEN’S P.O.V. I was contemplating how to go about the situation when a voice boomed in my head. ‘Don’t you dare!’ It was Jared. ‘Oh, you are awake,’ I replied sarcastically. ‘Jay, no…’ he added. ‘We are not even fifteen minutes out, wait for us…’ he ordered. ‘Where are you?’ I demanded as I felt rather weird through this mind link. ‘You will see,’ Jared informed, and I checked the skies. I hope they were not coming via chopper because that will announce our arrival. ‘This is normal, Jar,’ I sighed. ‘I can take them out…’ “She is not listening,” Jared shouted out loud, almost making me jump. ‘Jayden,’ now Nash’s voice boomed in my head. ‘Great, so you are awake too,’ and I connected him to my link with Jared. ‘We are not even ten minutes out,’ Nash spoke. ‘Covered five minutes distance in few seconds, are you guys flying?’ I snorted. ‘Something of the sort,’ Jared spoke and this time I did peer towards the sky. ‘Jay, remember your promise to dad. JAYDEN’S P.O.V. “I am not surprised that we don’t have any wolves here,” I spoke as I stared around. Beggars, hawkers, and many random people were littered around the city. “How do we even find our princess?” the driver asked. But then alpha opened his eyes and spoke, “No, I cannot locate or contact either of the girls.” I sighed. I had not expected it, but I would not lie that I was not disappointed. “We are at least in the right city!” the security guard pointed. But then suddenly, the alpha exclaimed. He exclaimed so loudly that the driver almost lost control of the car and I jumped at least two feet in the air, banging my head on the side. “What happened?” I demanded, clutching my head. “The bar,” he spoke. “Where we left the money?” I asked. “Yes, it is gone…” he whispered. “Gone? As in?” I asked suspiciously. “There was a blast in it, and it is totally ablaze… two of our men standing outside are dead!” he whispered sadly. “Why would they blast half a mil

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. “We have informed the princes about this and they are also re-routing towards Kashid,” the man beside the driver informed me. Both my mate and my brother were in the city but none had mind linked me. I had tried to establish contact but none allowed. Why? Were they avoiding me to keep me safe or were they so damn busy that they had their minds closed to any outside distraction. Hoping for the latter, I focused on the situation on hand. And what a situation it was! I wanted to be with Nash and Jared. Discuss strategy with them, but I didn’t know where they were, and I did not wish to leave Nash’s father alone right now. “If we find my daughter,” Nash’s father started. “We will kill everyone who took her, yes,” I nodded. He looked at me for a fleeting second, as if assessing me if I had the stomach to digest cold blooded murder, but then he nodded. “Kashid is how big?” I asked. “Not that big,” Nash’s father informed me. “So, they will see us coming,” I t

JAYDEN’S P.O.V. “Claws…” Nash’s father fell on to the floor in shock. “They are my baby’s claws.” I was surprised. Faye did not sense anything regarding Devi or Myra in that box. I took the box from Nash’s father’s hands and felt repulsed immediately. Who the fuck does that? Who was so cruel to – to – Faye growled in my head at the sight of pulled out claws. But did not transform again. I sniffed, and stared at crumpled form of Nash’s father. “Did you catch a familiar scent from these, Alpha?” I asked sceptically. “My baby!” he choked. “No, these do not belong to either Devi or Myra,” I assured him. And he looked up at me hopefully. “Devi and Myra were tied up in that room but that room is devoid of any other wolf’s scent. Humans, yes, but no wolves… and these,” I pointed at the box, “don’t belong to either girl.” Nash’s father stood up and nodded. “Then we must leave this place…” Nash’s father spoke, totally unabashed. I nodded and followed him. But then his secu
