YOU CAN HAVE HIM

Mabel went inside the room to speak with Maria. She noticed that Maria still had a frown on her face and asked, "What is the problem, dear?"

Maria pretended to smile and replied, "Nothing, I just don't feel too good."

"Are you sick? Are you in pain anywhere?" Mabel inquired.

Maria shook her head and said, "No, I'm fine. Go and be with your guest. Don't let him be all by himself."

Mabel nodded, "Alright."

She left the room and went back to meet Armstrong. He got up the moment he saw her and said, "Okay, now I've dropped off what I came to give you. I have to leave for my meeting, but I will pick you up later in the evening, so we can go together to the party, okay?"

Mabel nodded, "Okay, thank you very much for the clothes."

"Anytime," Armstrong replied.

She escorted him out of the house, and when he got outside, he said, "I think the red gown would look very good on you. You can try them all, but I prefer that one."

Mabel smiled and waved him goodbye before going into the house
