She smiled as she sat down beside her mom on the table for six; her mom, dad, Anthony, Jessie wasn't on her seat, Jake and her cousin; Florence, she just came by to say hi. The couple were dancing and some other couples had joined them on the dance floor.
She had left them to be away from Nicholas hawk eyes that didn't waver in her direction; she could breathe normally and think again about other things that was not Nicholas Mitchell.
'Hello.' She heard behind her.
She gasps silently and rolled her eyes, he just had to follow her here.
'Nicholas!' She heard her mom's enthusiastic voice; happy to see him. Her mother never liked him because he couldn't afford to pay for the entire wedding but what changed; she asked as Nicholas hugged her.
He smiled at her father; her dad still had a liking of him; he was a good employee.
He looked at Jake after he had hugged Florence, waiting for introductions.
She looked away; he didn't need to be introduced but Jake helped himself.
'Jake, I'm Amber's boyfriend.' He introduced himself.
Nicholas looked at the man and with a fake smile that he and Amber recognize, he shook his hand.
'Nicholas Mitchell.....'
'Amber's ex-husband. I know.' Jake said with a proud look on his face, he made sure Nicholas didn't miss.
Nicholas nodded his head. This guy knew too much for his own good.
'We are not......'
The man cut him off again. 'I know but you will soon.'
Jake removed his hand from his and moved to Amber; who smiled at him, he whispered something in her ear; she smiled and nod her head and he watched as the man put his hand on her waist and guided her to the dancefloor.
'That is a competition for you, Nicholas.' He heard Anthony's voice in his ear, he too stood up and left.
'Nicholas, come sit.' Mr William invited him to the seat beside him.
'He is such a sweet boy.'
He looked at the man one more time as he held Amber's waist for the last time before he focused on Mr William. 'Yes, he is.'
Indeed!
He watched for what went on for eternity; Jake; the man who he just started to hate, pulled his wife closer to him. He didn't just hate someone like that, it was just the way he spoke to him, like he already knew everything that happened between Amber and him and he was throwing it in his face.....that it was his loss. Skype didn't like him too, why does Amber even like him?
His wife; he remembered.
He had spent last night thinking about Amber and he convinced himself, to go after her; he has seen no divorce papers, he has signed no divorce papers..... Amber was just distanced because he just got back from a long trip, no calls, no texts and he was determined to get her back. They weren't divorced yet......he still had a chance to prove himself to her.
He smiled one last time at the couple, before he stood up and walked towards the dance floor; Jake was not even looking his way, when he reached them.
'Do you mind, if I cut in?' He said with a smile.
'This is private right now.' Jake told him without letting Amber go.
'it's just a dance.' He said calmly not wanting to admit that he lost to this big headed person.
But he haven't lost, he just hadn't gotten the chance to prove to Amber that he was what she always wanted and what she still wants.
She didn't even look at him.
'You should just take a hike, the song is almost over.' Jake added as he smiled at Amber and she smiled back.
The song wasn't close to the end yet; it had a few more minutes and he would like to dance with Amber.
'Jake.' She stopped moved and held him back.
'Let it be, it's okay. I will be fine.' She told him.
Jake dropped his hands and kissed her gently on her cheeks before excusing himself but not before looking at him.
'He has a very ugly expression....you should tell him to change it.'
She rolled her eyes and he stood in front of her.
'Knock yourself out.' She said slightly as she held his hand, much to her disadvantage.
She was still mad; he needed to do something. He sighed and he put his hand round the small of her back and clasped his fingers in hers.
'Do you remember, when we danced like this?' He began a conversation.
A conversation she was willing to avoid and a memory she wanted deleted from her memories. 'I guess you enjoy this..... dancing with women who are taken.'
He laughed; that laugh she missed hearing when he ate, in the middle of an argument, with his friends. 'Actually, you are taken.....you are married....to me.... it's not a problem but with Jake it is.....'
She looked at his eyes. Checking if they felt the humor he was trying to spread with his lips. 'I am separated from you, yet to get a divorce.'
'Yet. It a long time from now....it could be never.'
She sighed; they were supposed to be enjoying Susan's wedding. 'It's......'
He didn't want to hear about her wanting to divorce him, so he changed the topic. 'You know, this song is to pull couples closer..... like Susan and Lucky.'
Really? She looked at her friends; Susan placed her hands on Lucky's neck and Lucky pulled her to him, by holding her waist, so did everyone else on floor.
'We are not a couple.' She told him plainly. They really were not.
He sighed silently. 'How many people here knows that?'
She looked at him again. Not all of her friends but only the closest but she couldn't announce that she was divorcing Nicholas to stop rumors. She frowned as she reluctantly placed her hands on his neck and locked her fingers together behind his head.
With a sneaky smile, satisfactory for him only, he gently placed his hand round her waist.
She frowned and kept looking at the lines on his neck, she loved tracing with her fingers when they lay in bed, he had said once that if she strangled him, he'd die happily.
He used one of his hand and raised her chin to look at him.
'Dance is a means of communication, it is a connection, sending bodily messages for the other to apprehend, I won't understand if you don't look at me.'
She felt like snatching his amusing eyes out; his amazing dark chocolate eyes; that brighten when she came into a room, those eyes that captured hers right now. She loved the way, his eyes would look at her every morning....... especially thoes times after their first kiss like they knew what she was thinking. After he kissed her; she had flared up at him; the next day in the company for no good reason because she trying to keep that employee's relationship strictly work related but he had caught her at the hall way alone and told her; it was okay, for them to have relationship at the office and after she had apologize for flaring up, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her silly. They weren't just colleagues; she wasn't just an intern and he, her supervisor. They were in a relationship and they were happy being together for those moments.
'I'm sorry.' She saw his lips moved; she hadn't actually heard what he said but read it from his lips.
She looked up to his eyes, embarrassed that he knew she had staring at his lips because his eyes smiled; he hadn't said it out, he just whispered.
'I'm sorry.' He muttered to her hearing this time; this time he didn't smile and his eyes were no longer smiling, instead they were dead serious.
'What are you apologizing for?' She asked. There were reasons why he should be apologizing but she needed to be sure, he knew what he should be apologizing for.
'For everything..... Anything.'
'I don't understand.'
He gently sweep the hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear. His hand stopped on her cheeks; they were not moving, they just staring at each other.
'I think you are upset with me.'
She shook her head; not getting the message.
'Your body is tensed and your eyes are angry at me.'
She sighed. She is ferociously more than mad at him right now; but sometimes he could surprise her with certain descriptions of her and her mood.
Then she noticed the couple already seated, they were the only ones standing on the dancefloor; apart from Nicholas'eyes, she could feel the guests were beginning to look at them.
She dropped her hands. If he must know. 'You are just like every other guys, good luck on your latest conquest...... besides you are getting divorced, aren't you?' She took a look at him one more time and walked away from him as his hands fall from her waist.
He didn't understand what she meant until he and Maxwell were in the car driving Lucky and Susan to the airport.
He pressed the honk loudly shocking everyone in the car.
'Damn! She saw us.'
'Who saw you doing what?' Max asked him.
He looked at his friend before turning back to the road.
'Amber's saw me kissing her sister!'
'What!' He heard all three at once. Jeez! He thought Lucky and Susan were busy or something.
'Wait. Pull over first.' Susan was the one who said this.
'Your flight?'
'Is not in another hour.' Lucky answered.
He sighed and pulled over and then he heard Lucky;
'Thank God, I haven't gone yet.'
He pressed the brakes and put off the engine before jamming his fist on the wheel.
'You what?' Susan asked like she did not hear before.
Nicholas didn't repeat it, he didn't even dare; he was a disappointment to himself.
'I know Jessie looks like her, but how could you kiss Jess. Don't you know she is Amber's twin? Did you drink too much to forget who you married?' Susan bombarded about to pick her phone to text something.
He turned and saw her with her phone. 'Please, Susan, do not tell anyone else. I am so ashamed of myself.'
'Baby, hold on.' Lucky told her and she reluctantly dropped the phone.
Nicholas watched from the rear mirror that he was contemplating on how to direct his question but Max helped less closer to the edge unlike the way Lucky would have said it.
'Were you drunk?' Max asked.
He shook his head.
'What happened?' Lucky asked him to explain.
Nicholas sighed like he had told the story a hundred times and he didn't want to repeat it. 'I was at the bar, watching the girls when they came in, when they begun dancing and suddenly Jessie showed up.'
'And you forgot about Amber.' Susan said bitterly.
'No, Susan, it wasn't like that.'
'Tell us, what happened?' Maxwell asked him to go on.
'Jessie was there, drunk....she walked to me and kissed me.'
'You didn't push her away, instead you kissed her back like she was Amber.' Susan entered again.
'Susan, it wasn't like that.... listen, I pushed her from me, but she came right back.'
'And you didn't see Amber?' Maxwell asked him the important question.
'No, but..... I did feel like I was being watched, when I looked l didn't see anyone.'
'What happened next?' As if Lucky doubted that was where it ended.
'I'm sure he must have taken her back to his apartment and......'
He shook his head, he couldn't do that to Jessie or Amber.... especially when they were drunk, even any other lady to be precise. 'Nothing happened.'
'Are you sure?' Susan asked him threateningly.
He frowned at her and looked at his friend. 'Susan is not helping, Lucky call her off.'
'I'm the only girl-friend you have that got your back....you can't treat Amber like that.' She said regardless.
'Cass is also my girl-friend and she got my back. It wasn't my fault.'
'Whose fault is it; Amber's?'
He sighed looked at her again. 'See that's why we don't like talking about the ladies when you are there.'
Susan removed the hair from her face and resigned with a noiseless hiss.
'We love your contributions, Susan. Nick is just pissed, things are not working out for him.' Maxwell defended; knowing Susan might still go ahead and tell Cassie, if she didn't know already and if he didn't tell her himself.
'What did she say when you guys danced?' Lucky asked him.
'And stole spotlight for us.'
He smiled and pressed his palms facing her; 'I'm sorry, Susan. When I am with Amber......'
'Yeah, you seem to lose your head.'
'You seem to forget everything else.' Lucky and Maxwell finished for him simultaneously.
Susan just sighed.
'How did she feel?' Susan asked him.
'Hurt.....her whole body tensed, she couldn't even look at me to beginning with.....' He snatched his brows.
'Guys, I'm afraid, I might never get her back, maybe lose her to that Jake guy.'
Susan smiled testing him; 'Jake is pretty good-looking and he likes Amber.....'
The guys look at her and she quiet her mumbling.
'I"m just saying. But I prefer you with her.'
'Thanks, Susan.'
'I thought Jessie didn't like you?' Maxwell asked looking at him.
He rubbed his forehead; that was where Maxwell was wrong.
'Oh! She liked him.....those meetings Nick claimed he attended and stayed up late.' Lucky told Max.
'So, She was the one you had to leave work for; because of an exhibition she wanted you to see?' Maxwell continued; remembering.
'Or did you forget when Nicholas went with her to Paris because she couldn't drive and Amber's was busy?'
Maxwell smiled; 'Those 'my friend needs me' thing..... I wish he came running like that when we asked for help.'
Lucky and he smiled, Nicholas shook his head; they were really having fun at his own dismal.
'Tell me something.' Susan's said looking up from her phone.
Nicholas looked at her.
'Did you meet Amber first before Jessie?'
He looked at her; 'Susan, this is......'
'This are questions I need you to answer about whether or not it is Amber you want or Jessie.'
Is this lady kidding him right now? 'Of course, it is Amber I want.' He said looking at his friend
'Describe her.'
'Babe.' Lucky looked at her, confused but she shook her head.
He looked at the internal parts of car and suddenly he came out dreamingly. 'Amber is the quiet and the most beautiful woman I have ever met, her anger is like a volcano; she has that dark eyes like night, she has a long silk soft long chocolate hair.....'
'If she cut her hair to the same length as Jessie, would you still recognize her?' She sternly this time cutting him short.
He looked at her; of course he could recognize her; she was his wife; if Jessie and Amber were in the same room; Amber loved the smallest things, she easily got bored and the silliest things makes her happy. 'Yes, I would recognize her.'
'How?' Maxwell asked; sometimes he didn't know which was Amber or Jessie.
'Amber has the small dark zit on her ear lobe.' He said.
Lucky and Maxwell exchange glances with him; they hadn't noticed; how could they, she is his wife after all. He looked at Susan; even she didn't know.
'Right, and you met her before Jessie?' She repeated her first question.
He nod. He had met her in her father's office and Mr William had specifically assign her to him; beautiful, an intern but his boss's daughter. She didn't like him at first because he was so bossy and acted like he didn't like a thing she did but that got him, observing her, being by her and he scared off every other guy who wanted to be more than colleagues with her.
And he had met Jessie in her sister's chair one morning; he immediately knew it wasn't Amber because; she has never smiled at him when he came to her table and her computer was turned off, Amber's computer is never off, Jessie sat waiting for him to say something he would tell Amber but he didn't instead he had asked where Amber was and Jessie had immediately confessed and told him how dashing he looked, not without adding her sister went for a coffee trip with one of the male staff. Nicholas had told Jessie to tell Amber to come to his office when she got back.
From that day, Jessie in her own special way, had considered him; friend or something more; the two or three times, she kissed him, showing him she was interested in him but he only had eyes for Amber.
'Did you ever like Jessie the way you love Amber?'
'No.' He spat out. Of course not, maybe Jessie would have fallen in love with him one occasion and she had said the same time Amber accepted him into her life.
'What if Jessie wants to be with you?'
'I want to be with Amber, Susan. Not Jessie.' As a family member but not as his wife or companion but a friend.... only that nothing more.
She raised her hand in the air. 'Then I hold no grudges against you.' She said relaxing back on the chair.
What does that even mean? 'I don't understand.'
She glanced at her phone again. 'First, let's go to the airport. I don't want to be late for my flight.' Susan told him and he started the car.
'Amber may be angry with you, right now but you need to win her heart.'
'How?' He asked his eyes on the road.
'I don't know, you know her better. It's your turn to think or share the men's idea.' She said as she felt Lucky's hand covered hers.
Nicholas looked at their linked hands from the rear mirror and wished it was he and Amber right now.
She sighed as Jessie past her; ever since the bachelorette party; Amber hadn't felt the need to talk to her sister because of so much questions she feared Jessie had answers to and Jessie had ignored her anyway, because even she didn't have anything to say to her.She sighed; she wasn't used to remaining furious with someone she lived with, she walked to Jessie's room, just before she could put off the light.Jessie saw her at the door. 'Did you need something, Amber?'She started to say no but she knew she couldn't stay angry with Jessie for no reason especially for a man she was trying so hard to forget he exists.'Have you seen Nicholas?'She sighed tiredly like she didn't have time for such interrogations but she answered anyway. The look in Amber's eye, told her, she couldn't hide everything forever..... eventually she would come to know everything.'Yes. I'm sorry, I didn't tell you earlier. I met him before you did at the airport.' She had
A week later, she was looking cheerful, she decided to fetch gorceries and she was happy she didn't see Nicholas much to her surprise, it confirmed that he had always been interested in Jessie and still is.She smiled warmly at the security guard before entering; he smiled back flustered and even the manager smiled at her.'You never stop looking stunning, Ms.''Only you say that, Walls.'He smiled; he was happy to serve her anytime; she had been the one who got him this store and funny thing she didn't have pay for anything she buys from here but after a lot of argument, he'd let her off with a huge discount.'Can I be your assistant?' He asked.'I am fine, Walls.' She picked a stroller. 'I will call you if I need anything.' She said heading towards the toiletries. She was making the trip because her schedule next week was crazy; she had meetings to attend. Jessie never have time, she work Monday to Friday and the weekends she wasn't always
She walked to the kitchen; once she had dropped the things she brought on the counter, she went back to on her answering machine and played for any messages in her absence.'Hello, this is Amber Page, I am busy right now, leave a message.' She heard before she turned her attention to the gorceries on the counter, she began to unpack.'Hey, babe. Just called to say Hi.......I missed you; can we have lunch tomorrow.....call me.' She heard; Jake sounded like he needed something.'Hey, Babe, this is your best friend; the client said the shipping won't be this week, he said next month..... I was upset when I heard; that man likes procrastinating...... I hope you are having a relaxing weekend..... enjoy, see you on Monday.' Cassie's voice ended; he sure likes procrastinating.... about a relaxing weekend.....so far it has been heated. When......She stopped her thinking as she hears her sister's voice.'I don't know where you went, what is keeping you so l
He smiled at the priest as he called he and the god mother to stand by the child and her mother and he was happy, when he held Amber's hand; he missed touching her, feeling her skin and he could see from where he stood the dark color she had placed on her lashes, and her brows were curved perfectly; he could smell her vanilla perfume; The divorce was all she cared about; he thought as they moved apart. She wanted to divorce him; was she pregnant with Jake's child or was he proposing to marry her?He had asked for them to talk; but he didn't want to just talk. ..he had spoken to Maxwell and he has helped him figured out how to reach her but now, he just didn't know.He had said they should talk about the divorce he didn't want. ....Yes, he had an idea.If she wanted to divorce, she just have to show him that she didn't need him and he knew exactly what to do.He smiled at the ladies that looked his way. He still had effect on the ladies
Smiling he entered the kitchen. He was feeling joyous; the day was going to end well, he had good vibes about it.'Where is that young man that was with you?' He heard Mrs Pade asked.Nicholas knew who she was talking about. He smiled as he moved to the tray of fruits on the kitchen table. 'He went to take a shower.'She nod her head to him. 'Go sit in the living room, we will serve the food.'He took a bite from the Apple he picked deliberately avoiding the look Amber gave him. He looked directly at his mother-in-law. 'Let me help.'She looked at him smiling and then nodded her head. He held his apple in his hand. 'What do I do?'She smiled at him; 'First, did you finish your work in the study?'Nicholas nod his head. She smiled again. 'First, tell me, how does this taste?' She told him as she placed a half full soup of the porridge, she blew on it first before putting it into his mouth. After few seconds, he gave her a th
She sighed as she entered her office, immediately she sat; Lucy knocked and entered.'Good morning, ma.''Morning, Lucy. What about the T.K transport company?' She turned on her computer.'Ma'am, I have been tried to get appointment but the Secretary says her manager is not available right now but I will check again.'Amber looked at the lady; sometimes she could be unreliable and most times she was a dedicated secretary. She looked at Lucy; she had called Lucy on Saturday to tell her to confirm the appointment with the transportation company and she must have put aside everything else to do the task; even though she didn't get the appointment.'How was your weekend, Lucy?'Lucy stared at her for a second, not totally understanding the reason for the question. 'It was fine ma.'There were good days and bad days; bad days; her boss didn't give her any sympathy or show any concern but the good days.......... This was one of the good days; a
She met him waiting for her by the front door. The Grand palace was not far from her office; a walk would be 20 minutes, a drive at ten and the restaurant was a few miles from her house by foot; there wasn't so much distance. He smiled at her as she approached him. But she didn't fail to notice the way a woman looked at her when she walked passed. She couldn't stop herself. 'Is there a particular dress code for place like this? She wasn't looking bad. She didn't change from her office clothes, so what?He smiled as he moved close to her; he was glad she didn't argue with him over the phone or turn him down, maybe she was excited as he was.'You are fine. You look perfect.' He said as he put his hand at the small of her back and begun guiding her into the Grand palace; she entered the restaurant, the lady at the front wanted to say something but seeing Nicholas with her, shut her up and he walked passed her and walked into the restaurant
The hallway was dirty; when she walked in before the elevator closed behind her. She looked at her secretary, who came in after her.'Good morning ma.' She greeted. This wasn't really a good morning, look at this place and at 8, when the woman was supposed to resume at 7.'What is the meaning of this, Lucy?'She looked at her boss; confused and then Amber pointed to the hall way, she looked at it and looked away.If Cassie had been here before her, she would have begun shouting.'Sorry, ma.' She said getting to her desk about to call someone; just then the cleaner came in from the elevator; a middle aged woman; she bowed her head as she got off the elevator and hurried past her before Amber could say anything. She just shook her head and walked to her office and closed the door after her; sometimes some of her employees forgot their place; just because she became familiar with them. She had work to take care of before her meeting.
The flowers were blooming, the sky was cool; the air fresh, the environment lively, her backyard filled with friends and her front yard filled with cars and lights were everywhere.Nicholas had requested Max make her cake, two steps cake.Nicholas handled barbecue and Lucky fixed the drinks; Susan, Cassie and Jessie took turns ushering people into the house; Nicholas allow Amber to dress up as much as she wanted. When she came down; she greeted her friends and moved on to say Hi to Amber, her mom and her grandmother, Maria came with her kids and Lucy was around with Pheobe; she smiled at her employees, her parents; some of her cousins celebrated with her, none of her niece or nephew like to miss aunt Amber's party; it was fun and she didn't feel like sitting when her friends and Nicholas insisted she sit; she was pregnant not dying. She smiled; few weeks after she visited Jake in jail; she had woken up; each day with the urge to go back to bed; she had thought
His heart skipped. There was something she wasn't telling him. This was a confession.'I love you...... I don't know if I have said that yet.' She continued; when he said nothing but scanned her face for a slight change that she might be joking.....But Amber didn't say what she didn't mean; she was not joking but something intrigued him.'Did you ever stopped loving me?'She smiled and pressed her body to his; raised her toes and kissed his cheek with the slowest motion ever before she whispered. 'No. I always have and I always will.'His hand tighten their hold round her. She turned to look him in the eye. She looked at his eyes , delicious lips; he could kiss like no other. His ticklish nose and his amazing ears. God had given her a beautiful husband, she couldn't be more grateful.'Thank you. Nicholas.' She said quietly.Nicholas raised his gaze from her lips to her eyes. 'What for, Amber?''For coming back to me.'Ra
Cassie had without hiding it, in the presence of Amber before he climbed into his car said; 'Finally, I thought this would never end. Staying in someone's house, when you have your own.'Maxwell had just gently pulled Cassie into his arms before Amber hugged her and went into her car. They were both happy, Amber and Nicholas decided to live under same roof as before and Nicholas was the most happiest, that out of a lot, he got to back to his house, he enjoyed with Amber.Their house. He increased the volume of the love song that played in his car and nod his head several times. Following the music and repeatedly drummed his fingers on his wheel. The only problems, he had right now was Jake and he has to continue with the restaurant.Skype couldn't be happier than him when he saw his car and then saw him bring out his luggages from the truck; Skype barked loudly inside the house; her barks could be heard from outside.Amber s
She smiled at Jake's neighbor, as she climbed the flight of stairs to Jake's door. She had given her boyfriend; two days space, to get over whatever he was feeling, decided to let him call first but he hadn't called or texted; so she decided to pay him a visit instead of calling. She was here now, with a cake in her hand to celebrate his birthday, which was today and spendtime with him; and have that talk they've been avoiding.'Luke, good afternoon.' She greeted Jake's neighbor by his left, as he came down the stairstowards her; she had to shift to one side, for him to pass; because the stairwell wasn't big rnough for two persons to pass at the same time.'Hello, beautiful.' Luke said as he passed her and stopped behind her.She turned to look at him. 'Hey, handsome.' She smiled. Luke was quite a charmer, quiteentertaining than Jake.'Is that cake I perceive?' He said with a smile; bringing his nose to the cake that is covered. He
She sighed as the radio filled the car, she was driving and Jake by her side.Unfortunately no man cancelled, they both wanted to go to the wedding and they both wanted to dance with her.She wasn't the most prettiest in the universe, why didn't Jake think of someone to carry along or why didn't Nicholas bring Apirl? She pondered on these questions as she made a U-turn.She took a glimpse of Jake beside her.Jake had had lunch with her a week ago; he had apologized for raising his voice and he wanted her to promise him; she would not give him up for Nicholas. But Amber didn't make that promise, because she knew, it was her life that was being spoken of here. So instead she told him, nothing would stop her from making right decision for herself.Which meant it was either him or Nicholas or neither. She could make her decision at the end.He didn't even pursue the topic, instead spoke about how he was going to celebrate her birthday that was com
They sat round the table for two.Amber smiled; when they saw the candles on the table and the bottle of her favorite wine.Rather, their favorite wine. They drank this wine after a family gathering; when everyone except the both of them had retired to bed. After they had cleaned the kitchen, they would take a bottle of wine and two glasses to their room and celebrate for a successful day gone. Nicholas would take three glasses and Amber the rest of the bottle; she always found herself in her short nightie in his arms and his legs over her, the next morning.'Really? You could have just told me, it was DIAMOND's Nick.' She said with a smile. He couldn't be more proud of being her husband right now.'It would ruin the surprise.' He said taking his menu to look at.He gave her, hers though it was right in front of her. When he gestured for the waiter, she asked him. 'Is there anything special happening?' she dropped her menu.He smiled. 'M
She felt mentally weak and her spirits low, she had not slept the previous night except thinking about Nicholas and Jake, Nicholas' kiss, the way she responded to him.She hit her forehead with her left hand and she sank in her seat. Why did she even kiss him? She had told him to stop kissing her and instead of her to push him away, she embraces him only to be enveloped, smeared and blessed with his lips, she forbade herself from giving into, from the same lips she promised herself not to kiss because of her relationship with Jake.God! How can she deal with this? And her feelings for him has surfaced and and this time in thousand folds overriding the one she felt for Jake. She is still in love with Nicholas Mitchell; her husband who left her and was back. She had told him; she agreed to his terms; he would do anything to win her back, by performing his marital roles, and giving her the time to spend with Jake, isn't it infidelity? Apparently the only o
Cassie, are you serious right now?' She asked as Cassie picked her up from the airport.Truth! She had been totally bored for a week, attending meetings and attending shows, her father told her to visit her uncle while she was there and she had called Cassie before she slept off last night to be at the airport to pick her up at 12 when her plane landed. She won't lie that she didn't enjoy the short visit to her aunt's school which she owned and her cousins were excited to see her but she couldn't lie that she didn't miss home and Skype. And she just heard from her friend that she was pregnant! Wow.'Cassie, are you serious?' She smiled half laughing. She looked at her friend as she drove.'Does Maxwell know?' She asked her.Cassie blushed. 'Yes,.'Why did she think that; he wouldn't know, of course Maxwell would know, he knows everything about Cassie.'How long are you?''Three weeks now.'Amber shrieked, looking at he
She frowned as the door opened and Jake showed his face. She sighed and went back to her work. After last night; she had sent him a message instead of calling; she didn't feel like hearing from him; that was why she didn't call in the first place. Now, he was here; doing what? When Lucy had told her; he was here; she had wanted to tell him, I am not available right now but instead she thought; that would give him a reason to question her, he would ask her about Nicholas that was totally irrelevant and to show him she is completely cool after what he said last night; she had to see him; show him; who was more rational in this relationship.'Hey, Babe.' He said as he walked through the large room to meet her desk. She gave him a lazy smile. 'Hey, Jake.' She wasn't a good mood to talk to him right now.He sat on the visitor's chair; and looked at the documents on the table in front of her and a pen, cup of coffee by it.'Are you almost
