Gin

For the days leading up to duel, Sinclair doesn't let me out of his sight. Not even for a second.

I return to my job as his PA, just because he wants to watch me all day long. I receive a pay check at the end of each day, with rather creative descriptions.

Yesterday's was, For giving Sable a run for his money.

And the day before that had been, For being the best assistant in the whole world.

I don't protest, not that I particularly need the money anyway. He feeds me, clothes me, has only best stylists waiting down in his apartment every morning to prep me for the paparazzi. For him.

My phone beeps and I pause in my scribbling, dropping the stylus beside the tablet. I raise my phone and my lips part into a grin as I see the alert and it's description.

For looking so delicious in that dress. Where do you want to go today, my Genie?

Genie? I laugh, chuckle, momentarily forgetting the stack of paperwork. I lean back in my chair and type my response. You're

GinMy thoughts weigh heavily on me as I watch the city skyline recede. I have not breathed a word of what I found, and I'm not quite sure how to broach the subject. It was way before we met, I suppose, if his children are all grown up now. His children...Goddess. My stomach plummets to the floor again and my throat tightens. The ring on my finger feels like a weight, and I feel sick to my stomach. Why did he keep this hidden? We're getting married. How could he not tell me something as important as this? We haven't spoken or made plans around it yet, the marriage--my fault, since everytime he brought it up, I changed the topic. It wasn't long before he gleaned why. Am I pushing too hard, Ginevra? If you're not ready, we can wait till you are, he said to me one night, when I was sprawled across his chest, my fingers playing around in his hair. No, I just..., I began, hesitating. I have cold feet is all. And it feels like I'm rushing head first into something blindly.

GinMay. I feel so embarrassed, I'd enter the ground if it opens up for me. May was Sinclair's nanny when he was little; and she was the first one to discover what he was.Jimmy and Emily are one of the many children in the orphanage owned by Sinclair, and I feel like shit when the woman puts me on a video call and calls them over to talk to me. And Sinclair. They call him Father only out of respect, and not because the scores of heads that I see on the screen, waving at the camera, are all the children he's had with all his lovers.Fuck, I feel so stupid.May tells me she wishes to meet me in person before she bids us goodbye. Sinclair puts his phone in his pocket and stands, dusting off popcorn from his jacket. "Let's go home.""The movie--""I have no interest in it. Never did," he exhales, walking past me. "I wanted to do this with you, and since you have no interest in it either, there's no use wasting our time here." I follow him up the aisle. "Why are you mad? Admitted

"I can't hear you," he murmurs, feeling my body all the way to my shoulder and something sharp stings my skin and he cuts the tiny strap of my dress and begins yanking it down."Sinclair," I try again as he strips down my dress, leaving only my bra, panties and heels on. My eyes dart up in search of CCTV cameras. Funnily enough, there are none. Shouldn't places like this have one? Or are they hidden? Is someone watching us now? “There are cameras, but they’ve been disabled per my instructions,” Sinclair says as he pulls my panties like a string and I gasp when it smacks back against my clit. Sometimes, I forget that the man can hear my thoughts.I want to ask how he can be so sure, but he yanks down my thong and suddenly slides two fingers into me with taunting slowness. “Sometimes, I wonder if you vex me on purpose, just so I can punish you like this,” he whispers, curling his fingers inside me and he pulls them toward him.Sweat breaks on my forehead and I bite down hard on the han

Ray laughs at me the entire ride home. The jerk took my purse with him as well, with my phone, so I wouldn’t be able to call anyone to come get me. And he’d tied my hands so tightly, it had taken Mr. Dante cutting the tie with a knife to get my hand loose.Walking to the counter in my underwear and heels, hands tied behind my back and the smell of my own cum covering me has to be the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me, and this punishment from Sinclair is just downright mean.I’ll get back at him. I swear to the Goddess. Thankfully, Ray had me memorize her number when I first arrived at New York, just so I could reach her if I ever got lost. She came with clothes and her annoying-as-hell laughter. Best not to even mention the gag.Ray snorts, swerving to the lane that leads to the highway. “Damn, girl, you looked the fool. I’d be practicing how to dice his dick like sausages and feed it back to him if I were you.”I ignore her, because I’m too mad to respond. When sh

The knife clatters to the floor and in that moment, I realize I’ve only managed to excite him. How can I get to him in the same way that he did me? How can I hurt him too and make him feel as helpless as I did in those moments where I’d walked through the hallway with people staring at me and hiding their laughter?Anger builds and I aim a kick for his side. He lets go of my hand and sidesteps like I’m a stupid child throwing a tantrum. “You’re a bloody psycho for doing that to me.”His smile turns ominous, a dangerous fire lighting up his gaze. “I see, you learned nothing from that.”Goddess, I want nothing more than to snatch that grin off his face. I lunge for him with my fist and he ducks effortlessly. Another has my fist ramming into the high cupboard and the wood splinters. Alaric The sound of a bowstring disturbed the silence and Alaric frowned as he watched the arrow hit the mark. Off. He was off by a few inches. He walked back to his supplies and took another arrow, nocking it. His hands were bloodied. He’d been at it for hours. There was no better way to get rid of his anger than imagining his enemies head as the mark. Alaric didn’t think he was mad, but then, most psychos didn’t think they were psychos. Marrying within the family wasn’t new in Lycanthia. The oldest families of royals didn’t believe in tainting the bloodline, and Alaric shared in the sentiment. He could never get around to settling down or choosing himself a bride. Not when his beautiful niece had been born. He’d gazed upon her as a child and known immediately. He’d tried imprinting on her severally, but the connection never snapped into place. It didn’t matter much. He’d already claimed her to be his from the moment he set eyes on her. The soft cru

NAOMIIt is indeed amusing, more so than I thought it would be.Dane would laugh his head off if he saw me right now, carrying a backpack, strutting down a hallway filled with women who stare at me with wide eyes and men who whistle unabashedly. I know, I look good in leather.I halt by a huge door, peering up at a sentinel who has the sternest stare. “Hello, love. Would you mind opening up for me? I have an appointment with your…principal?”His gaze rakes me from head to toe and rises back again. “Chancellor Vesper,” he mouths slowly, like he’s talking to a kid, and I can’t help the faint smile that blooms across my lips at the notion. The male turns around, and I whistle at how nice his ass looks in uniform. Stepping foot into this land has brought me across the finest specimens I’ve ever seen. There is no end to them. None at all. I step out of my allotted room in castle—hot guards. I walk the streets of Lycanthia—extremely hot villagers. I walk into school—stunning, beautiful and

It’s not mine, I swear.“I’m sorry,” my husband apologizes for the umpteenth time, dropping a kiss to the curve of my mouth. It’d almost been a mishap. Almost. Had Ethan not swooped in with rings that I’m pretty sure were new; rings I didn’t choose. As if he somehow knew Sinclair was going to lose them, like he did during his wedding with Eliana. I currently have a fucking plan B on my ring finger and the more I look at the more I want to smack him.I purse my lips, refusing to speak to him. I’m not particularly mad, but how does a man forget his own damned wedding rings? Okay, maybe I’m a little irked, and plenty disappointed.Grasping his cool hands tightly, I let him spin me across the floors in an elaborate sweep than earns cheers and I blush, smiling at a clapping Ray. “I’ll murder you later,” I tell Sinclair and Dane chokes on his wine somewhere in the gathering.“I look forward to what method you’ll chose. Three Months Later…GinevraMy fingers are sweaty around Rune’s arm, and my steps are slow, a complete contrast to my racing heartbeat. I cannot, for the life of me, contain my excitement and anxiety. My breaths are shallow, and I can’t get enough air in my lungs.Rune’s larger hand lands on mine, and I glance up, looking through the veil. His green eyes smile as he pats down gently. “Think of tonight. It’ll help.”Tonight. Butterflies scatter in my stomach. It’s not like it’s going to be my first night with Sinclair, but it is my wedding night after all. The first night I’ll spend as Mrs. Winchester. My toes curl in my heels at the thought of it, and maybe, just maybe I start walking a little faster to get it over with.I grin widely as Ethan, dressed in a black tuxedo, gives the huge door a large push and it parts wide enough to reveal the floral petal pathway. Rune takes the first step up, and I follow, blowing a playful kiss at Ethan, whose lips tilt up into a small smile. As I st

Fenrir Leaning against the wall, he overlooked the gardens where his mate knelt, tending to the flowers with her bare hands. Her light hair brushed over her cheek and she pushed it back, smearing mud on her porcelain skin. Her eyes were the brightest he’d seen them in days, and he wished he could take her with him.It was for her, after all, that he was doing this for. He would right the only wrong he had done in his life. He would return to the past, and ensure he never even met with the boy’s mother. But Fenrir knew there were consequences and sacrifices to be made if he was going to toy with time. Nothing as drastic as losing his life, but he truly did wonder if the world might have been a better place without him. An awful thought. If he didn’t exist, Hekate wouldn’t have been reborn into Rune’s body and the problem with the Void would never have been resolved. Zephyr would have been mated to some lord who didn’t understand her meek, yet wild nature and desires. The world was

I try to get out on my own, but my feet won’t hold me up. I’m exhausted. Recovering, but still very tired. The physician said the poison was completely gone and a few days of rest would be enough to get me back on my feet. He had insisted that I still stay, but I couldn’t stand being at the castle anymore.“Let me,” Sinclair says softly, hands sliding under my knees as he lifts me up. His face has a nasty grimace when he glances up. “I’m afraid we have guests.”I follow his gaze to the familiar cars parked around the yard and I smile a little. “They must’ve missed you.”“We very well know they’re just busybodies,” he mutters, carrying me inside. “I’ll get the urn when—”“Leave it there,” I whisper, closing my eyes to push another onslaught of tears

The door shudders and slides open, revealing a vast orchard. I hesitate at the threshold, but the king continues on, robe dragging across the grass. Anything to get it out, anything to get the wound to heal—because it’s not.
