Gladys was stunned.

She had looked after Gwynn for a long time now. In fact, she was there back when the latter was still a naive and innocent young lady. Her mistress couldn’t even watch when she was cutting fish for meals. A tiny drop of blood would terrify her mistress too.

However, Gwynn actually did something so horrible that it never ceased to astound her! That wasn’t to say that she didn’t agree with what her mistress did, though. In fact, she thought it was a work of art.

Gwynn leaned over and looked at Noah. “We have to hit the road now! I have some matters to attend to at noon! The point is, we’re leaving. So, you might as well not waste our time!”

It was darker in the car. Tried as he might, but he couldn’t see any trace of longing in her eyes. Rather, it looked like she couldn’t get away faster from him.
