Yanni took the divorce certificate and stroked it gently over and over. She had endured a lot of pressure for it.

Mason and Zoe hadn’t actually wanted to let Gael off the hook. Jamie even tried to beat him up, but she stopped him. She had long since stopped caring about the constant disappointment.

Jamie said that they would treat Gael as if he were dead from here on out. Yanni thought he was right. The Lockwood family no longer needed to be entangled with Gael. Everyone had to move forward. If time and energy were spent on someone unworthy, how boring life would be?

Keaton gave her a minute before taking the divorce certificate away.

"Hey, Keaton." Yanni couldn’t help but protest. She wasn’t as sharp as she was at the hospital during her private moments. Instead, there was an inexplicable dullness to her, which gave Keaton the illusion that she was still that high school girl.
