My sister Lara was waiting for me in the waiting hall. She and I are very close. We like to tease each other. Our two eldest are a bit older than us. As soon as they finished high school, each traveled to a foreign country . The first is in Canada and the second in Germany. They have already finished their university studies and are working in their respective host countries. Although we chat regularly, we are not very close like Lara and I are.
Lara led me to her car and I put my luggage in the trunk of the car then I went to sit in front with her. We made the trip while chatting. I'm happy to be back home. I had missed this fresh and natural air that tickles my nostrils a lot. The beautiful scenery, the sparse trees along the road, the clear skies without long, endless buildings... I felt like I had spent an eternity without coming back here. Since today is Sunday, the traffic was less dense and it didn't take long for us to get home. I quickly entered the living room, I was so eager to hug my mother after this long absence. I actually find her sitting in front of the television. As soon as she saw me, she got up to me and took me in her arms. She hugged me so tight that I was gasping for air.
"I missed you a lot too my darling mamoune, but you're going to end up suffocating me with this hug." I smirked trying to pull away from her embrace.
"I missed you a lot my baby!" She said, finally releasing me.
I look around to make sure no one has heard this and exclaim in a fake serious tone.
"I'm a man now mom! Stop calling me baby all the time!"
"For me you remain my baby even when you have a white beard and I have the grace to be alive." She replied tenaciously.
Decidedly, my mother will never change, I say inside me.
"Go and take your bath while I get the table ready."
I take my leave of her and go wash up. After having taken my bath, I am called for dinner. My father made the effort to be present early. It's probably because I came back. After the meal and once he asked about me, he told me
"I hope you are ready for your wedding?! Starting next week, there will be a meeting with our both families. I want you to get ready accordingly.".
"Count me in daddy!" I replied smiling

It's Saturday night and I'm out for a walk with Charles. My father told me yesterday that my supposed future groom is already back home. Next weekend, there will be a meeting between our families.
“Honey, I promise you, I will never agree to this marriage!” I assured to Charles as we were sitting on the beach by the water.
"You won't be able to oppose your father sweetie." He replied dejected.
"I don't know what to do to make him change his mind my heart..."
I was really desperate.
"I have an idea..." he said hesitantly.
"Which one? Speak I'm listening" I replied very curious to know what he had in mind.
"What if we run away?"
"Do you think that's a good idea?" I asked the question with less enthusiasm.
"It's the only idea that comes to my mind right now for you to escape this marriage. You could take enough money from your father and we flee to another country."
"No. I don't have access to my dad's accounts. Forget about the money, it's impossible!" I answered, looking discouraged.
"You could still search secretly in his documents or search his office. Use your brain Naëlla!"
"Forget this idea! I can't do this. Running away and abandoning my father... I love him very much and he loves me too... He would dye of grief." I retorted, totally disagreeing with Charles' idea.
"You say your dad loves you?! Is it this love that pushes him to the point of giving you to marriage to someone you don't know, as if you were a common object?" Charles retorted angrily.
"Calm down Charles! He probably thinks he's doing the right thing for me, but if I had some time, I could reason with him. I'm sure he'll end up changing his mind." I said trying to calm Charles whose face was already contorted with anger.
"And what are you planning to do? Because there's no need to remind you that on Saturday, the meeting between your families will take place and, believe me, at this stage it's difficult to go back."
"I know, that's why I have an idea that I think will be good." I said still keeping my composure.
"Ah yes! Which one?" Charles hastened to ask.
"I would like you to help me hide in your house, while waiting for my father to calm his eagerness to marry me against my will."
"No! I don't think it's a good idea. How can you live with me, you who are used to the luxury of your chalet? You have seen with your own eyes how cramped we are at home. That's not a good idea at all! "
"Calm down darling! I'm only going to stay there for a few weeks, until my father changes his mind.
It's not killing anyway! If you manage to live in these conditions, why not me?"
"For us, it's our habit, we've only known this life. But for you to put up with it, it would be killing!"
Charles is very anxious and nervous hearing my proposition. I think he is overreacting a bit.
"Don't worry honey, I'll get there. Besides, it's in the interests of our marriage. Or do you want me to marry like my father wants?" I questioned him, looking him straight in the eye. He hastened to answer
"But no of course!"
"So that's the only solution for my father to calm down."
"Okay, I think we have no other choice."
Finally, Charles and I agreed to the idea of me escaping from home. I had already been at Charles's house for a week. Even if it was not the total comfort as it was the case at home, I still liked it a lot. I liked their simplified way of living. They didn't bother with bogus formalisms like the way of life I had always had. Whatever they found at hand, they took without thinking. I must admit that the first days of life here had not been total joy. Nevertheless, I ended up appreciating this rhythm of life opposite to mine. I have been able to discover another style of life different from mine, and it was quite a good experience of life.
Throughout the week, my father had been busy looking for me everywhere. He went to my school to see if I was there. Luckily I haven't set foot in school since I've been here. I knew this would happen, that was why I did not go to school the whole me. Charles came in to check on me.
"Your father is furious about your absence." He told me looking worried.
"Of course he must be! I'm the one he cherishes the most in the world and the fact that I disappeared all of a sudden surely bothers him." I replied to Charles, not at all surprised by his words.
"That's exactly what worries me the most, my dear." Resumes Charles, looking at me anxiously.
"What's bothering you my darling?" I questioned him, not understanding why he's got that worried look.
"Your father cares about you too much and I'm sure he won't hesitate to hurt me when he finds out I'm the one getting in his way."
"Don't worry about it sweetie! My dad is a good man and he can never hurt you. He's just mad right now because I ran away. But I'm going to make him listen to reason, don't do not worry." I say to assure Charles.
But obviously, my words don't have that reassuring effect on him. I sense him reluctant and panicked. He retorted
"You're saying that because he's your father. But you didn't see his angry face this morning at school. He threatened us that he would imprison anyone who keeps you in his home. The dean also came in into the dance threatening us that he would personally take care of this individual and that he would be expelled from the university, if ever found."
Charles was speaking in panic. He continued to share his concerns with me, always with the same fear in his eyes.
"Only you know more than anyone about my financial situation. I only have my mother as family and if I were to be kicked out of school, she would throw a tantrum for sure. Let's not talk about it if I was taken to prison. She would dye of it instantly."
I fully understand his apprehensions and I try somehow to reassure him.
"Don't worry my love! I promise you nothing will happen to you. I will make sure my dad won't hurt you, believe me. I just want to scare him a little and then I'll go home. House." I said stroking Charles and looking at him fondly.
"I'll make sure nothing happens to you and to your mother, you have my word! Okay?" I continued to say, giving him a look that was meant to be full of assurance.
He nodded shyly the answered in a not very convincing tone.
"If you say so!"
Charles went out leaving me pensive. My father is not even ashamed to use his power to go and threaten defenseless young students! He pushed the cork a little far anyway! I don't even recognize him with that attitude anymore. Ever since he told me about the damn marriage, it seems like he's turned into another person. I'm sure he's called me a hundred times and left tons of messages. But he doesn't know that I left my phone at home in my room. I turned it off beforehand. I will stay here for up to two weeks. I do not intend to attend this meeting of misfortune between our two families. This young man, whoever he is, already disgusted me even before I met him. How can he accept this kind of marriage? Is it stupid to agree to unite with a person whom he has never met in his life? And if I was a witch, what would he do? Who still does things that way these present days? We are all the same in the twenty-first century! If my father is so attached to this marriage, he just needs to take my place as long as he is there. I'm going to teach him a good lesson before going home.
Right now, I can't ask Charles to babysit me. They barely have enough to eat and since I've been here, it's my self who gives the money for meals. His financial situation is in bad shape. His mother sells at the market and does not earn much money. A marriage between him and me at this time and without my father's support would be suicide. I thought my father would like to support me in my choice of spouse and at least find a position in his company for Charles, but he had already completed his program a long time ago and Charles was not on it. If at least we could have some more time, Charles would pass his degree and find a good job, and in that case my father would no longer have the same opinion of him. But he wanted to do things in a hurry. I don't know how to make my father reason at this moment so that he changes his mind.
EthanToday is finally the Saturday that my father has been harping on my ears so much since my arrival. I hope that after this famous meeting between our two families, I will finally be able to sleep peacefully. My father acted as if this marriage would open the doors of paradise to us, lol. If my interests weren't so much at stake, I would not have hesitated for a second to send him packing. I thought my father was frankly exaggerating for this little bit. Everything for him boils down to the interests of his business. It's always been that way with him. Since I was a child, he only talked about his business all the time and nothing else. I never had a normal father and son relationship with him. If at the beginning, it had affected me a lot, I ended up adapting to this situation. Today, I no longer complain about it. On the contrary, I took advantage of it and I take full advantage of it.I was getting ready while thinking about how this
EthanI was imagining various reasons why my future bride had not come, when my father spoke."So Georges, how are you? Business, how's it going?""Ah Fansou, you know, business is business." He responds in a parable as only they understood their business language."I didn't see my future daughter-in-law with you, nothing bad happened to her I hope?! Or would she have withdrawn at the last minute, as these children often know how to be stubborn and rebellious?" asked my father anxiously.Me too, I open my ears greatly to listen to the reason for the absence of my future wife."Ah yes, my daughter... First, I would like to apologize to you for being late. You know that I make a point of honor on punctuality...""That's what I was telling my family just before you arrived." My father said within him cutting him off."Actually, I had a little problem with my daughter."Hearing him say that, I
NaellaMy father kept his threats of marrying me to the unknown son of his business partner. Despite my pleas, my sulks, my tears, he didn't flinch at all. What am I going to do to make him change his mind? Why is my father so stubborn?"Please dad, if you want to punish me, I'm ready to take any punishment, but not this one! Marrying a stranger, anything but not that!" I begged him to change his mind. However, my father's gaze is impassive. It seemed like he had no shred of compassion. Despite the tons of tears I've already shed so far to coax him, he remained insensitive to this. He tells me in a harsh tone"Stop trying to make me change my mind Naëlla!I've already made my decision and nothing will change that. You're going to marry this young man as planned. And don't think I want to punish you. I'm doing it for your own good, even if right now you think it's a bad thing. When the time is rig
EthanThe meeting ended without me knowing what exactly was discussed. I was just overwhelmed by the beauty of my future wife. My eyes no longer took off from her. I can't believe she's gonna be my wife. I'm sure she doesn't even remember meeting me at the mall anymore, I was such an idiot. She was also not very interested in what was happening during the reunion between our families. She kept her head down throughout the seat, except at some point that she must have felt the weight of my gaze on her. She lifted her head and gave me a look that unsettled me. It sounded like she was mad at me. I am now certain that she was not consenting to this marriage, just like me. The meeting ended without my future wife and I having to speak to each other. In the car, I hear my father tell me"I hope you're ready for the date chosen for your wedding?! As soon as we get back, your mother will take care of contacting our organizer of the solemn ceremonies
NaellaIn the end, my father's will prevailed. I witnessed the descent into hell powerless, without being able to change anything. The worst part of it all was that I couldn't even count on Charles to console me, because he too was affected by the situation. He was walled in total silence. It seemed like he was mad at me for what was happening, when all I wanted with all my heart was to stop this wedding from happening. I wonder if things would have been the same if my mother had been there. Why did she decide to abandon us? This subject, my father never spoke about it. It was taboo to mention my mother's name. However, I sometimes dreamed of a life with her by our side. Maybe then she was going to hinder my father from making that mistake, who knows. Two months after our families reunited, the wedding took place. My brother traveled from the United States to attend the wedding ceremony. Our marriage made the front page of all the newspapers
NaellaThe atmosphere at home is anything but that of a newly married couple. I do everything to make our home unlivable. It is necessary that at the end of a year of marriage, we separate anyway. I don't cook for my husband, nor do I take care of his breakfast and the like. He manages to find something to eat on his own. Luckily we have house staff. Otherwise, he would starve. This morning, it has already been nine days since we were married. If it wasn't for that composition period at school, we never would have met. I always manage to be in my room when Ethan comes home and in the morning when he leaves for work, I'm in the room. This morning, I get up very early and I'm getting ready to take my continuous tests at school. I dab Ethan who is also ready for work."Hello Nae!" He greets me.I wanted to ask him why he uses the diminutive of my first name, but I refrain
Ethan My father gave me a year to prove to him that I am a good husband. It is only after this period that I will be able to take the position of CEO at the head of his company. I'm afraid to satisfy him. Indeed, my new wife seems very stubborn and makes life difficult for me. I do everything I can to make her feel good, but she just does what she wants. She doesn't love me, that's for sure! Neither do I. It's just a marriage of convenience. Nevertheless, can't we try to make efforts in order to lead a more peaceful life? In addition, we could still combine the useful with the pleasant. Despite my efforts to make her more docile, she doesn't comply in the least. I had never met a woman who resisted me so much. All women are crazy about me. But this one doesn't give a fuck about me. Besides, I don't know how to go about seducing her in order to control her. However, she has quite a strong character. Me who thought she had to be an easy girl, desperate and ready to do anything for marr
Charles I managed to put under my armpits this liar of Naëlla. She thinks she's very clever, well, she's come across something smarter than her. She wanted to play me, but I'm going to show her that you can't teach an old monkey to make faces. We'll see who gets the last laugh between us. She's not even ashamed to lie to me brazenly looking me straight in the eye, that nothing happened between her stupid husband and her, yet she told her friend Leonce something else. What she doesn't know is that I know everything about her and I intend to take revenge on her without any mercy. As we often say according to a french adage, 'à malin, malin et demi', meaning "a cunning person should be responded by a more cunning one". All the love I had felt for her one day in the past turned into hatred towards her. I want to hit her where it hurts the most, to make her feel the same way I felt after her wedding. And to think that she swore by me and that she was ready to do anything for me. She promi
Naella My father's funeral is today. I can't stop crying. My father, he was the one who taught me everything. He showed me love and despite my mother leaving home, he didn't want us to feel this void. He fulfilled it marvelously by giving us twice as much love. I had asked him one day why he hadn't remarried? He replied that he didn't want to mix up his children, for fear that my brother and I would feel less loved compared to the children he could have with another woman. We were the center of his world. And it was again to protect me that he preferred to die by throwing himself on Ethan's mother who was holding a handgun. He didn't think twice when it came to our safety. I had so much more to share with him. I would have liked him to see his grandson or his granddaughter. I'm so angry with death for taking it from me sooner. Although he is not my biological father, for me he remains my father and my hero. My big brother Andy came back from Germany earlier this week. He told me tha
Ethan I don't think in all my life I had ever heard such a nauseating thing. And to think that it was in my own family that such things happened. I think the word disgusted is meaningless compared to how I feel right now. I hold Naëlla in my arms, trying to revive her. "We need to get him to the hospital." I say to our mothers. "Don't worry darling, she's just giving us a little tantrum. She'll wake up right away." As she speaks, her mother takes water from a bottle not far from us and sprays it in Naëlla's face. She wakes up with a start. "Sweetheart, I was having a horrible nightmare. There was a girl pretending to be my twin sister, and worst of all, your mom and mine were lesbians. It felt so real I was praying God wake me up." Said Naëlla opening her eyes. "Unfortunately my love, this is reality. You weren't dreaming." I tell him in spite of myself. "So it was true?" She stammered, getting up from my arms. "If I understand Pauline correctly, my two eldest sons and Tania ar
Naella We all turn around, faces full of surprise, towards the entrance to the room. "Mom, Dad? What are they doing here?" Ethan asks surprised at the sight of his parents. "You will soon understand my dear brother-in-law." Answers my sister. "Guenaëlle? What are they doing here?" Asks my mother, in turn, visibly surprised too. "You will know, a little patience dear Mama. Besides, go sit with the others." Command my sister to our mother. "But..." "I said go sit down!" she thunders at our mother who jumps at the sound of her voice. My mother ends up going to take her seat. "What are we doing here?" Asks Ethan's mother. "Now that the whole family is complete, I will answer your questions." Answers my sister, obviously called Guenaëlle. "Guenaëlle, stop what you're doing! What's this all about?" Our mother intervenes. "Dear mom, calm down. Right now, I think darling daddy needs to know the truth, don't you think? After all this time, he deserves to at least know who you reall
Naella At the sound of applause, my dad and I turn to where the noise is coming from. The girl, who is my spitting image, is standing and... "Mom ?" I yelled, surprised to see her there. "Surprise !!!" Says the fake me. "What are you doing here Chanceline?" Ask my father to my mother. "You don't have any questions for me!" My mother replies, glaring at my father. "Okay, enough talking! Everyone inside!" Orders the one who is my doppelganger, suddenly pulling a weapon out of her bag. We panic at the sight of the gun. "My daughter..." My father whispers, seized with fear. "Who's your daughter old ancestor?" She replies curtly to my father, with a tone full of rudeness. At the same time, Amy who had already come to herself, exclaims at the sight of everyone "Babette? What are you doing here?" "Oh Amy, thank you for pawning me. You and your minion have helped me a lot." Said my doppelganger to Amy. "How did that help? Care to explain?" asks Amy, who jumped up to come over to
Naella We stop in our tracks. "Amy, it's over. We've already gone too far with this story. We have to stop everything." Said Charles advancing towards Amy who is looking at us meanly. "Who are you to tell me to stop this story or not?" She replies, her voice laced with anger. "Now you're asking who I am huh?!" "It's not because we were getting laid all the time that it gives you the right to tell me what to do. The idea was mine and I intend to go there until the end." Amy reprimands. "I remind you that I, as much as you, was also involved in this story of revenge. It was you who asked me to join forces to separate them. So don't come and talk to me as if I were your minion." Charles retorts, challenging her with a look. "You may be right, but I realized that you are a wimp and if it was up to you, they would never have separated. It is thanks to me that all this happened and will go until at the end. I will therefore not allow anyone, not even you, to stand in my way." Amy ham
Naella I feel strong headaches. I try to open my eyes. I quickly walk them around the room where I'm lying. What happened to me ? And why do I have these awful headaches? I try to get up, but I can't. My hands and feet are tied to either side of the cramped bed where I'm lying. I go inside my head to remember the last events, maybe I'll understand why I find myself in this room that doesn't smell of roses. But I can't remember anything. All I manage to get are worsening headaches. "Where... Where am I?" I ask with a low voice. "Help please!" I try to scream with the little strength I still have left. After about five minutes, the door to the room where I'm lying opens suddenly. The man who enters is familiar to me. I feel like I saw him somewhere. But yes ! One of the men on the road! "You!" I exclaimed, my voice full of surprise. "Hello Sleeping Beauty!" He says, wearing a smile that shows his teeth yellowed by the excess of cigarettes. "Where have you taken me? What do you wa
Ethan I get out of the car and call the woman. She's Charles's mother, and I'm curious about the purpose of her visit to my house, since Naëlla no longer lives here. "Ah my son, you are there!" She said stopping. "Hello mum, how are you?" I ask her. "I'm doing well thanks !" She answerers to me. "Did you need something? Or are you looking for Naëlla? Because she no longer lives with me." I say to her. "It's true that I'm looking for Naëlla, but since you're here, I'd like to talk to you." She replies, increasing my curiosity tenfold. "In that case, I'll let my car in. You can wait for me inside the house." I tell her as I take the seat behind the wheel of my car. I run quickly, while the young mother enters. I park the car in the courtyard, then I go out to join Charles' mother inside. I find her comfortably seated in the living room. I come to sit next to her and look at her questioningly. "Son, I thought I was going to find your wife at your house?!" She says looking around
Naella I'm leaving Charles' mother at home. "Thank you daughter! Please call me when you have confronted your husband and father." She told me once out of my car. I promise her to inform her, then I turn to take the driveway that leads to the road. I drive at high speed. At this time of day, the road is clear. In less than thirty minutes, I should already be at Ethan's work. After twenty minutes of driving, a mini valve that was coming at high speed in the opposite direction, tries to crash into me. I do a lot of maneuvering so as not to find myself face to face with this car. However, I end up hitting a tree. The shock is lessened, because I wear my seat belt. I breathe a small sigh of relief, then I try to open the door of my car. "Don't move !" I heard before I opened the door. I turn around to see who is speaking. My door opens from the outside. "Who are you ?" I asked trying to dig into my memory where I've seen that face before. "It doesn't matter. You're bleeding, we nee
Naella Ethan pulls me out of my gongs so much. I can't believe he says such mean things about me. He may have been fooled and cheated on by our exes, but I thought he might at least have some savvy. Anyway, I don't know if it was a good idea to come here. Luckily, I'm going away from this company. Meeting Ethan in this business all day long, saying hurtful words to me, doesn't help me at all. I hope that as I signed the divorce pzpers, I will not have anything more to deal with him. I would have though wish I could elucidate this matter. I will see what language he will use this time. I came home after taking my leave. Ethan's editor left me a message for the success of his book. We're supposed to go on a date together to meet her and discuss about the book. But I don't plan to go there. I have many other things to do. Already he does not want to see me, so much better not to saturate. For now, I must begin to sort this story out. I thought until my brain hurt. There must be an expl
