CLARA’S POV

I gazed up at the night sky, mesmerized by the stars scattered across the midnight blue.

“It’s a beautiful night,” I said, drinking in the sight.

Beside me, Edward sat quietly, his gaze fixed upward as well. I glanced at him from the corner of my eye and smiled at the satisfied grin on his lips. He had been reluctant when I’d asked him to step outside with me after dinner, but now he looked utterly at peace.

Silence stretched between us for some minutes until I cleared my throat. “I can’t keep myself locked away,” I said, and Edward turned his head sharply toward me. “I know what happened was traumatic, but I can’t just stay in here, hoping the shooter vanishes into thin air. I need to work.” I spread my hands for emphasis. “I need to accomplish the things I want in life.”

He let out a weary sigh, and I braced myself for his refusal.

“I understand, Clara,” he said, and my eyes widened in surprise.

“You do?”

“Obviously.” He cocked a brow. “I can’t keep you

CLARA’S POV I leaned against the balcony railing, looking down at the patio below. For a brunch we’d thrown together just days ago, the turnout was incredible. Like Lydia suggested, I had to put myself out there before launching my company and the first step was this brunch for women in business. Lydia had sent out invitations and they’d shown up in numbers. More than I expected. More than I could have hoped for. I was impressed and grateful. And, if I was being honest, a little on edge. The patio was packed with at least two hundred women, maybe more, each one a business owner from different packs. Soft music drifted from the speakers, mingling with the low hum of conversation. On one side, rows of neatly arranged tables stretched out, white cloths draped over them, wine glasses catching the sunlight. The whole setup looked… perfect. I ran a hand over my dress, taking in the scene when Lydia’s voice suddenly cut through my thoughts. “Luna,” she said from behind me,

CLARA’S POV Her last words made one thing clear: she knew me. From school? I stepped closer, studying her face, searching for any trace of familiarity. She looked like she was in her late twenties. She had freckles, pale skin and doe eyes with brown hair. But nothing about her features struck me as familiar. So who was she? Regaining my composure, I straightened my shoulders and met her gaze with confidence, forcing a polite smile despite the irritation I felt. “I see you might know me better than I recall,” I said. “But does that really matter? Does that make this whole affair ridiculous?” She threw her head back with a dramatic roll of her eyes. Then she shook her head. “Do you know what I told my maid when she came running to me yesterday, saying, ‘Luna Valerie, you’ve received a brunch invitation from Luna Clara’?” She mimicked the woman’s voice in a casual, mocking tone. “I told her to discard it.” She finished. I stiffened slightly. Luna Valerie. No wonder s

CLARA’S POV I pressed a hand against my stomach, exhaling slowly. Why was this ache in my lower belly so persistent? Clicking the button on the car door, I rolled the window down slightly and leaned toward the cool air. “Luna Clara, are you okay?” Lydia asked beside me, her voice laced with concern. “Yes,” I nodded, forcing a tight smile. “Just a mild stomach ache, nothing serious.” “No, Luna, it could be more than that,” She insisted. “We can still turn back to the pack if you’re in pain. Mr. Walter’s arrest can wait.” “Mr. Walter?” I scoffed, raising a brow. “That animal doesn’t deserve an ounce of respect. Just call him Walter. And I’m fine.” She hesitated before nodding, though she looked uncertain as she turned away. I winced silently, masking my discomfort from the stomach ache. The pain wasn’t letting up, it was getting worse. But turning back now wasn’t an option. Not when I was this close to bringing down one of the men on my wanted list. Just like

Edward’s POV “This is the first time a Luna has tackled such issues,” The announcer’s voice rang out clearly from the TV. “She’s taking them head-on,” he continued, admiration lacing his tone. “Bold, fearless… addressing them directly.” Pride swelled in my chest as I listened to him. My wife did that, I thought. Clara, my beautiful, brilliant wife. I had always known she was resilient, even back in high school. She was vibrant, determined, unwilling to be beaten down, even when everyone bullied her for being an omega. No matter how much they mocked her, she kept pushing forward, proving them wrong time and time again. She would always come out top in class, putting them all beneath her. She had always been confident and strong. Well, until Nate happened. And piece by piece, he broke her. Until the fiery girl I once knew was reduced to a shadow of herself. Yet now… she was coming back. I leaned back in my chair, my gaze locking onto the bottom corner of the TV

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 058: Arresting Nate

Edward’s POV Clara and I drove to the pack enforcement office, where Serena was being held. As soon as we arrived, we were ushered into the interrogation room. Silence stretched between us as we waited, thick with tension. For some reason, I knew Clara’s suspect was the same as mine and we were just waiting for confirmation. “Do you have anyone in mind?” Clara finally asked, her voice low. When I met her gaze, I saw the same unease I felt reflected in her eyes. “Let’s just hear her out first,” I said, offering a reassuring smile. The door opened, and I turned just in time to see Serena being led inside, her hands cuffed in front of her. She was forced into the chair across from us. That was when I noticed the recording camera in the corner. No one spoke. Serena stole glances at us, almost like she was feigning ignorance about why we were there. Minutes ticked by before I lost patience. “I don’t have all day,” I snapped. “If you have something to say, say it now.”

NATE’S POV I couldn’t believe this was happening. Fuck’s sake. My wrists were cuffed in front of me, the enforcement officer nudging me forward as he led me through the Grand Enforcement Station. The place was eerily empty because no other Alphas were detained. Just me. My jaw ticked as I shuffled my feet. One moment, I was untouchable, standing at the top and now I was being dragged through this hall like a common criminal. We reached the waiting room, and as the officer pushed open the door, my gaze landed on the visitors inside. Rage ignited in my chest, my jaw tightening. The two people I despised most in the world. Were they here to gloat? I sank into the chair across from them, my eyes burning into their faces. Edward met my glare with equal intensity, his expression cold like stone. “Leave us,” he ordered. The officer bowed and exited without hesitation. I leaned back in my seat, crossing one leg over the other. If Edward expected me to beg, he was delus

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 060: Something Off

CLARA’S POV I woke up with a dull headache, groaning as I pushed myself upright in bed. Frowning, I lifted a hand in the small darkness to massage my forehead. Why was I even having a headache after a night sleep? Sighing, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and walked to the fridge. Pouring myself a glass of cold water, I downed it in one gulp before sinking back into bed with another tired sigh. It wasn’t just the headache. Something else was weighing on me, gnawing at my thoughts, adding to the tension behind my eyes. Nate. His arrest. Everything about itthe circumstances, his reaction, felt off. At first, I dismissed it as paranoia. Maybe I was just overthinking. But the more I replayed the scene in my head, the more I realized Nate was too composed. Too confident. He was scheming something but I just didn’t know what. I had lived with him for two years; I knew him well enough. When Nate was backed into a corner, lost without a plan, he was anything but calm.

CLARA’S POV I sighed for what felt like the hundredth time in just a few minutes, rolling restlessly from one side of the bed to the other. My mind was all over the place, thoughts swirling with no end in sight. “Come here,” Edward murmured beside me, reaching out to pull me into his arms. I must have disturbed his sleep with my constant sighing. Weak and exhausted from overthinking, I let him hold me, exhaling slowly as his hand moved to my hair, stroking it gently. For a while, we stayed like that, him running his fingers through my hair, me silently finding comfort in the rhythm. Then, after a moment, he cleared his throat, his hand shifting to smooth my brow. “You’ve been sighing all night, Clara,” he murmured, his voice hoarse with sleep. “I haven’t been able to rest because of it.” He turned me to face him, the dim glow in the room showing the concern in his eyes. “You know I can’t sleep when you’re troubled. Talk to me. What’s wrong?” I listened to the steady be

CLARA’S POV “Hi.” A small woman with freckles and round glasses perched on her nose walked up to me, a polite smile on her face and her hand outstretched. Before she could get too close, two guards stepped in, blocking her path. They squared their shoulders, clearly on alert. I studied her for a moment. She wore a white short-sleeved shirt with a stiff tie and held a black bag tightly in one hand. I raised a brow, curious. Who was she? She noticed and swallowed nervously, adjusting her glasses. “I—I’m Samantha,” she said, voice a little shaky. “Samantha Winters. The journalist.” Ah. She swallowed again but lifted her chin. “It’s truly an honor to work with you, Luna. Thank you for the opportunity.” I kept my eyes on her and gave a small nod. “Yeah, so…” It was true—I asked Lydia to find a journalist to cover the company launch and help spread our goal to every part of the pack. I motioned to the guards to let her through. They stepped back reluctantly. Her smil

CLARA’S POV I leaned back in the hammock, eyes fixed on the clear sky, gently rubbing my stomach. I used to wonder how women could carry life inside them and still manage to do so much. But now, I understood. Ever since I felt my wolf, since the night Edward marked me, I’d felt like a completely different person. Healthier. Stronger. More alive. “Here are the documents you asked for, Luna Clara,” Lydia’s voice broke into my thoughts. I looked up and saw her standing beside me, holding out a few papers. “Everything about the company launch is in here,” she added as I took them from her hand. “I’m really glad we’re moving forward with the plans, Luna,” she said, her grin wide and excited. I forced a small smile, nodding as my fingers brushed over the papers. But inside, I felt a sense of unease. No matter how far I tried to move forward, the fear still clung to me. Maybe it was just paranoia. Maybe not. I hated the way my chest tightened every time the memories c

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 093: Disaster

Nate’s POV Getting a bit suffocated inside the car, despite the blasting cold air-conditioner, I pressed the button in the arm of the door, the window rolling downwards. I inhaled sharply as the wind hit me in the face, natural and soothing. More like it… The car radio static cackled then, a female voice drifting through. “…Luna of the territory has been found and rescued, following her kidnap that happened a few days ago.” “Turn that up,” I quickly instructed, and the driver leaned forward and turned up the volume of the radio. “She was found in good shape and health, despite a few injuries,” the broadcaster continued, “and the perpetrator is still at large, no traces of them found.” I scoffed, shaking my head. So she’d survived, after all. That was quite disheartening, because for a while, I’d really thought this would be her end. But somehow, she keeps surviving. My jaw ticking, I lifted my fingers and pushed them through my hair, a bit unsettled by this informa

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 092: Wolf

CLARA’S POV A rush of adrenaline coursed through my veins. My eyes flew open, and I could feel something stirring deep inside me: a soft, steady thumping. Was that… my wolf? Lying against Edward’s chest, I lifted my fingers to my neck, gently caressing the bite mark. Then my hand drifted to my chest, pausing over my heart, feeling the pulse beneath my skin. Yes… that was truly my wolf. “Clara…” A faint, almost whispering voice called to me, and I jolted upright, clutching my chest as my heart hammered wildly. Was that her voice? Edward stirred beside me, his gaze sharp and cautious as he watched me. “Is everything okay?” I nodded shakily, rubbing my palms against my chest to steady myself. “Yeah, I… I think I just heard my wolf’s voice.” My words were breathless, disbelief still clinging to them. Edward’s eyes widened, and he quickly propped himself up. His hand gently covered mine, his touch warm and comforting. “And I think I can feel her too,” I added, my voice barely

CLARA’S POV I woke up with a pounding headache, like a hammer was slamming between my eyes. I sighed, not in the best mood. I wasn’t just sick—I was sad, angry, and overwhelmed. Everything with Edward had taken its toll on me. We hadn’t really spoken since the outburst, when I told him I’d be leaving once the contract was over, and after I gave him his baby. It wasn’t like he hadn’t been trying to talk to me. The problem was me. I didn’t give him a chance. The night before, he’d come into my room, trying to get me to open up, but I ignored him. Every time he touched me, I shoved his hands away. Eventually, he’d left, his shoulders slumped in defeat. Sighing, I forced myself up and shuffled toward the bathroom. Just as I was about to push the door open, a knock came at the main door. “Who is it?” “We’re here with breakfast, Luna,” a female voice called. I rolled my eyes. Breakfast already? I just woke up. “Come in!” I called out, slamming the bathroom door shut an

Clara’s POV Henry and I stared at each other for what felt like forever, my eyes burning with anger, his full of something else. Maybe surprise that I wanted to see him. Finally, he sighed, leaning back with a shrug. “Fine. I’ll tell you, since you’re so desperate to know.” I couldn’t help the small sigh of satisfaction that slipped from me as I leaned back in my seat, folding my arms. “I’m all ears.” “But first,” he said, smiling, “Why are you so covered up?” He raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Let me guess, you don’t want to be seen with me?” I shot him a glare, my lips pressing into a tight line. “That’s not important right now.” He shrugged again, biting back a laugh. He signaled the waitress, ordering an iced coffee and a bagel, then leaned forward, clasping his hands on the desk. I watched him, trying to decide if I could trust anything that came from the mouth of someone so… off. There was something unsettling about him with each

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 089: The Truth

Clara’s POV I tossed and turned on my bed, my mind heavy with thoughts and frustration. I’d been thinking for nearly an hour, and I still couldn’t understand why Edward would do this to me. Why had he kept something so vital from me? If he’d told me we were mates long ago, when he first found out, I wouldn’t have had to suffer so much. Maybe I could’ve avoided the tragic turn my life took after marrying Nate. If only Edward had been honest with me… Sighing, I couldn’t shake the thoughts that plagued my mind. I threw the sheets off my body in a fit of frustration and stormed toward the door. As I unlocked it, I found Lydia standing there, looking worn and concerned. “Luna Clara,” she said softly, her hands clasped in front of her. “Are you still angry?” Ignoring her question, I cut to the chase. “I need you to do something for me.” She blinked, the hurt in her eyes fleeting before she nodded. “What is it, Luna?” “You saw the man with Edward, right?” Her brows fu

CLARA’S POV I turned slowly, pressing my back against the pillar as my heart pounded in my chest. What did I just hear? I was Edward’s mate? What kind of joke was that? I stole a glance at the two men, my gaze locking onto Henry’s face. His lips curled into a smirk, but his eyes were deadly serious. He wasn’t bluffing. He wasn’t joking. Edward was my mate. But how? And why was I only finding out now? I shifted my focus to Edward whose back was still turned to me. He wasn’t denying it, just stood facing Henry, his jaw fingers clenched. Why wasn’t he saying anything? Why wasn’t he telling this man that he was lying? “What happens in my family is none of your business, Henry,” Edward finally said, stepping closer, his voice low with warning. “So leave. While I’m still asking nicely.” Henry cocked a brow. “Is that what you think? That I’m not family? That’s ridiculous, Edward. Telling me to leave won’t change the fact that you’ve been keeping this from her for G

CLARA’S POV Edward stood at the foot of my bed, his face tense with frustration. I had insisted on carrying this baby, no matter what. He wasn’t happy about it, he wanted to keep me safe, but I wasn’t changing my mind. Lydia walked in, carrying a bowl of water. Edward glanced at her. “Make sure she’s looked after at all times,” he said, his jaw tight. “I want more maids assigned to her, and she isn’t to lift a finger. Understood?” Lydia set the bowl down on the bedside table and curtsied. “Yes, Alpha.” Edward sighed, then leaned down, cupping my cheek. “Get some rest, okay? I’ll check on you later.” I nodded, giving him a weak smile. He returned it before heading for the door. But just before leaving, he paused and turned back to Lydia. “Make sure she doesn’t strain herself,” he added, his voice laced with worry. “No single task. Nothing strenuous.” Lydia nodded, and he slipped out, closing the door softly behind him. I pulled the sheets up to my chin, staring ou
