NATE’S POV

I slammed my phone down on the table, exhaling sharply.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

The investment deal I’d been counting on had just collapsed because of Clara. She was ruining my life, and the effect was driving me crazy. How the hell did a weasel like her even dare?

Was this the same Clara who had once been completely under my control? The timid, pitiful Omega I had married?

I scoffed, shaking my head. Impossible.

Standing, I stalked to the cellar, grabbing a bottle of wine and a glass. I filled it to the brim, inhaling deeply as I tried to exhale every ounce of frustration boiling inside me.

I needed to relax, to stop the inevitable migraine that was about to explode in my head, another gift from the chaos that bitch had unleashed in my life.

I thought having to deal with the gossips was enough. But no. Investors were actually withdrawing from my company.

“Bad publicity?” I scoffed, shaking my head bitterly. Did they not know every publicity is good?

Lifting my glass,

NATE’S POVI sat at the head of the table, barely listening as one of the board members droned on about stocks. My mind was elsewhere, thinking about the mess Clara was making and how she was wrecking everything and everyone around me.I wondered how long it would take for Jack to get rid of her. And if it would take time, I could deal with her slowly until her time was up. As I was lost in thought, something in the board member’s rambling caught my attention and snapped me back. “Hold up.” I straightened in my chair, my focus turning back to the room. “What did you just say?”“The company stocks… they’re dropping too fast,” the man repeated, his eyes scanning the room like he was seeking support from others. My brows furrowed. “And what are you doing about it?” I demanded, leaning forward and fixing him with an icy stare.“Er—uhm…” He stammered, looking for an answer.I clenched my jaw, breathing through the rising anger coursing through me. Was everyone determined to piss me off

CLARA’S POV I took a slow sip of water, twirling my fork between my fingers. No matter how many times I picked it up, I couldn’t seem to bring myself to eat. Maybe it was because Edward sat directly across from me, his sharp green eyes stealing glances when he thought I wouldn’t notice. I wasn’t used to him staring this much especially when I didn’t know why. But what surprised me even more was that he’d insisted we have dinner together. Lately, he either wanted to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with me. It wasn’t a bad thing but being close to him made me feel things, it brought back memories I had tried so hard to forget. He cleared his throat then, drawing my attention. “So,” he began, his voice casual but probing, “what have you been up to these days?” His gaze lingered on mine. “I heard you left the pack today. What’s going on?” I straightened slightly at his words, wondering why he was asking. “How did you hear that?” A slow smirk tugged at his lips.

CLARA’S POV I stood in front of Edward’s door, trembling, debating whether to turn around and disappear. But my conscience wouldn’t let me. After my shower, I had tossed and turned for nearly an hour, unable to shake the feeling of guilt from our earlier conversation. It gnawed at me, growing stronger the more I tried to ignore it. Eventually, I gave up, climbed out of bed, and found myself here. I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I said something to him for my outburst. A word of apology, maybe? Taking a deep breath, I knocked and waited. I got no response. I knocked again and still no response. I raised my hand to try again when the door suddenly swung open, Edward stepping out. He stood there in nothing but a pair of low waisted trousers, my eyes roaming his chiseled chest and defined abs before I realized I was doing that. I swallowed hard. Focus, Clara. “Can I come in for a bit?” I asked, my voice smaller than I intended. He held my gaze for a moment before si

CLARA’S POV I looked around in admiration as we breezed through the estate gates, the wind dancing in our faces and stirring a warmth in my heart. “Lydia.” She looked sideways at me, her face calmly drawn into a smile. “Yes, ma’am?” “I plan to launch my own company,” I announced, flipping my hair backwards and away from my eyes. We were walking through the estate on an evening stroll, the calm in the air just what I needed to clear my head. “Do you have anything in mind?” She asked, and I tilted my head to the side, thinking for a moment. Then I shrugged. “Well, it has to be something I’m passionate about, you know. Would make it even more fun.” “And if I may ask, ma’am, what are you passionate about? Is there anything you can think of? There must be something you like doing… something that makes your heart race,” Lydia pushed on, and I laughed, suddenly nervous, a fleeting memory of me tangled in the sheets with Edward crossing my mind. That was the new passion…

CLARA’S POV FLASHBACK—Years Ago A shove from behind sent me crashing to the floor, my head slamming into the wall. Pain shot through me and I groaned, squinting my eyes at the same time. “Why are you even here?” one of my bullies sneered as I rubbed my head. “You don’t belong here, yet I see you everyday.” “You’re just a weak, useless Omega,” another added. “You’ll never fit in. Why don’t you go back to your parents? Go find a school for people like you!” Their words tumbled out, all hitting me at the same time. I pressed against the wall, forcing myself up. My head ached, and my vision blurred with unshed tears. I fought them, tightening my hands because I didn’t want them to see me cry. That would only make it worse. As I struggled to stand, a sharp kick to my stomach knocked the breath from my lungs and I crumbled down. I gasped, a tear slipping down my cheek because the pain was too intense. “Look at her,” the one who kicked me laughed. “She can’t even cry r

CLARA’S POV “I just don’t understand him,” I muttered under my breath at the back seat of the moving car and shook my head. What is he doing to me? “What did you say, Luna Clara?” Lydia turned in her seat to glance at me, her brows raised in curiosity. Oops. I hadn’t meant to say that out loud. I flushed lightly, managing to compose myself before she noticed. I sighed, waving a dismissive hand. “It’s nothing, Lydia.” She studied me for a second, her brows knitting together in suspicion. But then she nodded, turning her attention back to the passing rows of flowers outside the window. I let out a trembling breath, my thoughts drifting back to Edward. He’d been acting so strangely lately—more affectionate, more attentive. It wasn’t like him. Not that he wasn’t kind before, but this…this was different. And I couldn’t make sense of it. Was I reading too much into it? Or was there something I missed? Or maybe I hoped he was actually paying attention to me. Was I delus

EDWARD’S POV “I think this is a wonderful proposal you have here, Alpha Edward,” one of the investors at the round table said. “My company will fully invest in this project.” I nodded in satisfaction. “Thank you so much for—” My phone on the table buzzed again, the vibration rattling against the wood near my thigh. My jaw tightened. That was the third time in just a few minutes. “That must be important,” one of the investors said, his lips tugging in amusement. “Why don’t you take it?” “I’m sure it’s nothing,” I dismissed, waving a hand as I picked up the phone. A quick glance at my call history made my stomach tighten. Lydia had called three times. I immediately felt a wave of panic shoot through me. Lydia wasn’t the type to call repeatedly unless it was something serious. Unless it was something to do with Clara. I cursed under my breath. I should have checked sooner. Just as I was contemplating calling her back, the boardroom doors burst open. Jaxon strode i

NATE’S POV I slammed my fist into the table, shooting to my feet in rage. “You what?” I bellowed, gripping the phone so tightly my knuckles turned white. “You fucking missed?” Jack, the stupid hitman I’d hired to take out Clara, stammered through the speaker. “I’m sorry, Alpha.” “You’re sorry?! How the hell could you miss?” I asked, running a hand through my hair. This was supposed to be a one time job. A one time job! “She had a driver and a bodyguard with her in the car,” Jack explained quickly. “It wasn’t easy.” I let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “Of course, she had a driver and a bodyguard! What the hell did you expect? I sent you her profile, didn’t I?” “Yes, Alpha.” “And did you even read it? No?” I slammed my fist down again. “Why the fuck not?!” “I did go through it, but—” “But what?” I cut him off, my voice sharp. “How did you miss the part where it clearly stated she’s Luna of the territory?” My anger boiled over, and I kicked the nearest table so hard it

Clara’s POV I watched the maids scurrying about in the hall, each attending to the duty that was assigned to them in preparation of the Bluemoon ball that was just around the corner, and as one of the maids approached with a pile of silk clothes in her arms, getting closer, I directed her to dump them on the tiled floor in the corner. “Make sure that these materials are complete,” I instructed the other maid that stood to the side. “Sort them by their colors,” I added. “Yes, Luna,” she replied, curtsying briefly, and quickly going to work, sorting through the pile of silk on the floor. I let out a tired sigh, lightly touching my forehead. I felt weak, but I couldn’t allow myself even a little bit of rest, because if I gave in to this tiredness, who would take care of the preparations for the Bluemoon ball coming up soon? It was part of my responsibility as Luna, and I would see to it to the very end. I was still giving out orders to the maids, making sure everything was in

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 075: Nate Again

EDWARD’S POV I sat at the head of the table, my gaze sweeping across the faces of the Alphas gathered around the U-shaped table. Their expressions were tight with anger, distrust clearly visible in their faces as none of them tried to hide it. And I didn’t blame them. Not after what happened at the Fruitful Banquet. I hadn’t offered any explanation since that day. They were nearly killed on my territory. If the substance had been deadlier, we wouldn’t be sitting here. “What’s this meeting about?” one of them asked sharply, without waiting for permission. “Are we finally going to talk about the chaos you dragged us into?” I scoffed quietly, shaking my head. Why dance around the truth when they could just say it outright? I let my eyes slide toward Nathaniel, who sat in silence, arms crossed, unreadable as ever. His calm demeanor rubbed me the wrong way. And the fact that he even showed up surprised me. And irritated me. I tore my gaze away from him before the rage b

EDWARD’S POV I stood at the floor-to-ceiling window of the meeting room, gazing outside to ease my mind. My fingers absently moved over my jaw as my mind churned despite my attempts to forget everything. In the faint reflection on the glass, I caught a glimpse of myself and paused. I looked like hell. I looked unkept, my eyes hollow. A sigh escaped my lips. I’d been neglecting my appearance, my health, everything. But how could I not? I felt restless day and night. Every damn minute, I was either pacing or spiraling. Nothing sat right anymore. This entire mess? whatever game was being played, I couldn’t get ahead of it. No matter how hard I tried, I always felt like I was several steps behind. At first, I thought it was just Nathaniel Bennett pulling strings. But now I was sure… someone else was involved. Someone smarter. Someone staying hidden, and easily manipulating things. Whether they were working with Nathaniel or acting alone, I still couldn’t tell. That uncerta

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 073: Failed Plans

CLARA’S POV I stood at the floor-to-ceiling window early in the morning, rubbing my stomach as I looked out over the estate. Most of the guests were already leaving especially those who’d recovered and I felt a faint feeling of relief watching them go. Very faint. These people likely carried resentment toward us now as they left. For something we hadn’t done and we didn’t even understand ourselves. They probably blamed us for everything that happened during the banquet, forgetting that we were also victims. Their outburst yesterday had really hurt me, considering how I wanted the banquet to be successful, how I looked forward to it as it was my first time. I was celebrating the baby in my womb but they forgot that part, they forgot that I was hurting too. A slow burn of anger rose in my chest. I clenched my fist, trying to push it down. It was pointless, getting worked up over what I couldn’t yet control. I turned slowly, my gaze settling on Edward at the far end of

EDWARD’S POV By the time we left the kitchen, I was completely drainedmentally and physically. My thoughts kept circling back to the brown-haired suspect. Who was he? Why would he do this? Was it personal? Against me? Clara? No matter how I tried to piece it together, nothing made sense. I couldn’t think of his motive, his reason. I just had questions without answers. Jaxon had gone off immediately to search the Estate, determined to find the boy. That left me with a handful of guards escorting me to the hospital wing. We hadn’t gotten far when a strange sound reached my ears. It was faint and distant, sounding like chants. I slowed, listening carefully. At first, I thought it might just be in my head, some lingering stress playing tricks on me. But with every step I took, the chanting grew louder. It sounded like a group of angry people were yelling close to the Estate. I stopped completely, frowning. What the hell was that? I gestured for one of the guards to

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 071: A Suspect

EDWARD’S POV Just as more emergency vehicles were pulling into the hospital wing of the Estate, I rushed in through the main entrance, feeling even more frustrated. I hurried into the wing, my eyes quickly catching the panic in the air. I looked around the hallways, filled with people groaning on both my left and right. Most of them were throwing up badly, dropping to their knees. It was complete chaos in here. I saw some doctors and nurses helping the poisoned victims who were too weak to move, guiding them into the wards. As I moved quickly through the hallways, I noticed almost every ward was packed full of sick people. This was horrible. What made it even more disturbing and upsetting was that most of the people vomiting so terribly were important figures in the territory—Alphas and Lunas of high ranks. I shook my head at the sight, my fingers curling into fists at my sides, wanting nothing more than to catch whoever was behind this. Even while I was worried ab

  • I Married An Alpha After Divorce   Chapter 070: Bad Banquet

CLARA’S POV I sat beside Edward at the very front of the hall, shifting my weight uncomfortably in the chair. The dress I wore was stunning but heavy. The layers of fabric clung to my body, weighed down further by the glittering jewelry adorning my neck and wrists. From the corners of my eyes, I could feel the stares. Nearly every woman in the room had their gaze fixed on me. Some looked on in awe, others in admiration but a few with jealousy. Despite the nausea churning in my stomach, I held my head high. I refused to appear weak in front of them. Today was a significant day, the Fruitful Banquet. It was a celebration of new life, of prosperity, and so many had gathered in our honor, the hall packed to the brim. I adjusted the folds of my gown around my ankles, then reached up to smoothen my hair. I needed to look flawless, to silence the rumors before they had a chance to spread. Edward leaned in, his hand brushing my hair gently away from my ear. “Alpha Reynold and his

CLARA’S POV “Congratulations, Luna Clara,” Luna Patricia said, towering over me with a wide smile on her face. “Thank you,” I replied, smiling back as I reached up to take the gift she offered. I was still very sick, my head pounding. I shouldn’t have been out of bed yet, but this was something I had to do before the upcoming banquet, which was only a few days away. Edward had wanted to cancel everything, but I refused. I didn’t want anyone to question his place as Alpha or damage his reputation just because of a little gift rite that every Luna has successfully done. As Luna Patricia stepped away, another woman walked up, her face tight with a dry smile. “Congratulations, Luna,” she said, handing me a wrapped box. “Thank you,” I said again, rising slowly to take the gift. But the moment her eyes dropped to my stomach, her forced smile vanished. I accepted the gift without saying anything, pretending not to notice her reaction. Even during a celebration, there were

NATE’S POV I watched as my lawyer poured me a glass of wine, a satisfied smile tugging at my lips. “I told you my plan would work,” I said as he settled back into his chair, smoothing down his tie with the same smug expression I wore. He nodded, lifting his own glass. “Worked like a charm, just as you envisioned.” “You’re brilliant, my love,” Isla chimed in from the corner of the office. “Everyone’s talking about it across the territory. No one else could’ve pulled that off.” I rose to my feet, exhaling deeply as I ran a hand over my already slicked-back hair. “What can I say?” I said with a scoff. “Everything I’ve been working toward was achieved in a single move. It was so easy to get it done too.” I turned. “You’ve heard what they’re saying about Edward, right?” I asked, glancing down at my lawyer. He nodded. “People are talking about how he’s abusing his power, how his jealousy is driving him crazy. And your ex-wife? They finally see how bitter she really is.
