“Nice ride,” Martina said, sliding into the passenger seat. She didn’t ask for permission of course—and Jester didn’t even bother telling her off. They’d already had a similar conversation a while ago, and it had no effect on the woman. Where Alisa would cajole and charm people into doing things for her, Martina was obviously the type to bulldozer over other people with a sweet smile and a few sharp comments. What a family.
“What do you want from me?” Jester asked. He keyed in the address on his dashboard and his holo screen showed him the quickest route to their destination. Twenty minutes. Not too bad, considering it was a weekday.
“I want to know how serious your relationship is with my sister.”
Jester snorted. “And why should I tell you?”
“I have a vested interest in keeping her happy. She’s my sister after all,” Martina replied. “And I’m also her therapist.”
