[ Denise's POV ]

When Mavis said I should be careful in terms of using the cooker, I couldn't help it, because my heart skipped to his words.

The Mavis I know don't give a damn about me, I know he saved me from the basement, but I know he did that because I got locked up in the basement of his house.

Mavis will see me crying, but he won't even bother to ask why I was crying, so what happened to that Mavis, why is he asking me to be careful? I thought in my head, taking my lower lip inside my mouth.

"You want me to be careful?" I asked just to confirm that my ears heard him correctly.

"Yes I did. Be careful with the cooker, and don't hurt yourself" He said, maintaining his calm voice. He really has a seducing voice when talking calmly.

But why was Mavis caring about my safety? I looked at the staircase like Mavis was standing there.

"Where are you?" I asked.

"I am already at the office," He said.
