[ Mavis's POV ]

I halted my feet from climbing the staircases and I turned to look at my dad. "What did you just say?" I asked, trying to verify if my ears heard him correctly.

My dad smiled lightly before speaking. "You should come with Denise the next time you visit. Let's have dinner together" He said.

"Why do you want to have dinner with Denise?" I asked. Because I couldn't just understand why my dad wants to have dinner with Denise. Isn't he the same man who came to my house some days ago, and treated Denise like she was a piece of trash?

"I just want to know her," He said, but that didn't answer my question.

"You haven't answered my question dad. Why are you interested in knowing Denise after what you did to her?" I asked, remembering how he grabbed Denise's collar. Here I was feeling sorry for him, but he had ruined everything. Now I don't know if I should feel sorry for him, or if I should just continue hating him.
