With hands shaking and her breathing labored, Lyla Swan struggled to dial Kate's number.
"Hello?" She heard Kate's voice on the other line. "Lyla? It's been a while? Why are you calling at this hour? How are you?"
Lyla's lips were trembling and her heart felt like it had been crushed to a million pieces. A tear fell down her cheek as she asked, "Why - Kate, why?"
"What do you mean, Lyla?" Kate answered the phone. "What's wrong? Are you crying?"
"I'm in Vegas... and I just met Kyle with a woman," Lyla admitted, sniffing her tears away.
Lyla had been sulking for the past hour, merely clutching her legs against her chest, sitting on a sofa from inside her hotel room. She inquired, "Who was that girl he was with?"
"I stayed away! I tried to forget because I never had a chance, but why?! Why didn't you even tell me! Why?!" She screamed and at that point, Lyla broke down in tears.
There was a long silence before Kat

"Oh, my gosh! Who is that man with a sexy back, Gaby!" "Gaby, your smiles are so genuine and the way you kissed in the commercial made me think the model is really your lover! You are really good at acting!" "You look so beautiful and blooming!" "Rrrr... even if I am only seeing a man's back, I could tell he is hot!" "Gaby! Spill! Who is that guy?!" A month after the filming of Claire Cherith's commercial, Gabrielle's social media were once again filled with comments coming from her fans! While Lyla, together with her cousin, planned for Gabrielle not to have the limelight, she wound up getting more attention! In the first commercial, it was with the way Gabrielle reacted naturally to the mystery man touching her, caressing her face and! The director even decided to add in last-minute; a one-second kiss! There was no doubting the chemistry between them that it left the viewers impassioned at each sight of th
Sunday. At the Wright Family Mansion, 6:00 PM. "Aunt Sam!" With a smile, Lyla offered a warm embrace to Samantha and upon letting go, she bowed her head to the head of the family, Ethan Wright. "Good evening, Uncle Ethan." After her greetings were returned, Kate came rushing to Lyla's side, hugging her tightly. "Oh, my goodness! I missed you, Lyla!" Kate held both her hands and with twinkling eyes, she suggested, "Let's go! Let's talk about all the adventures you've had while being away for so long!" While the Swans and the Wrights exchanged pleasantries and catching up with each other's lives in the living room, Kate and Lyla left off to find a good place for their girl talk. It was already at seven in the evening when dinner was ready and the entire party was invited to the dining area. As they made their way to the grandiose long table, it was Lyla's mother who looked around, seemingly in search of the man. She cleared h
"What?" It was Ethan who clarified. "A marriage alliance!" Responded Lyle Swan. "We could further strengthen our family's wealth by making this arrangement." A sly grin formed on Melissa Swan's face before she suggested, "Something that Gaby could never offer to the Wrights." For seconds, silence engulfed the dining room, and all eyes were at Kyle and Gabrielle. Everyone saw Kyle's murderous eyes at that very moment! Samantha acted first, raising a hand at Kyle, signaling her son to hold back. Silently, she was telling Kyle to let her handle it first. She forced a smile and said to the Swans, "Lyle, this is... not what we expected." She glanced at Lyla and with a gentle expression, she recapped, "Lyla is a good friend of Kate, someone we have known for a very long time. Moreover, she is a woman with an excellent social status!" Hearing that, Lyla smiled before flashing a devious look at Gabrielle. Her inside were screaming
Similar to Kyle, Ethan was known to be a stern person, but never did the Swans expect such grim words coming from the previous president of the Wright Diamond Corporation. Moreover, they just witnessed Samantha Wright, the angelic wife of Ethan Wright, discredit their daughter! Melissa and Lyle found themselves gawking in shock for seconds. Lyla's father only recovered after Samantha added, "Lyla, please leave some pride for yourself." "This is ridiculous! How dare you question my daughter's moral, moreover, my choice in women!" Lyle stood up, glaring at Ethan. "At least my wife and my daughter came from a proper upbringing!" "Excuse me, but Gaby was brought up with character, independence, and humility, a quality far better than what you and your daughter presented just now! Gaby, at least did not have to force herself to a man!" This time, it was Kyle who pointed out in his impassioned tone. "And let me just say this right now, no one, and I repeat! No one
"Gaby, no matter what other people say, what counts most is how important you are to us. Don't ever blame yourself for what happened just now," Samantha said, comforting Gabrielle as she remained seated in silence in the dining area. Samantha hit the bullseye! Gabrielle honestly felt regretful inside. The Wright Diamond Corporation may have just lost a business partner and Kate probably lost her best friend. While she knew she did nothing wrong, she understood the gravity of what was lost. The family crowded around her, giving Gabrielle the assurance she needed. "Yes, sis. Don't mind Lyla. She is just jealous. She has been obsessed with Kyle since we were in high school," revealed Kaleb. "Either way, it would have still happened. Kyle... he - he never liked Lyla and I'm telling you, men, we don't like a puppy following us around." "Sam is right. In this world, we cannot please everybody, but what matters most is our true relati
"This is crazy, one of the longest lines I've ever brought a talent to for an audition," Denise shook her head, looking at the queue of actors and actresses auditioning for the film, 'The Fallen Princess' Return.' While Kyle was finding a way to get the Swans to sell their company shares, Gabrielle and Denise flew all the way to the City of Angels, hoping to get a chance to take the lead role of the movie set in medieval times. It was a story about a princess' undying love for her prince that she resorted to scheming and unlawful acts to gain power so her husband would fall in favor of the crown. However, the princess was executed after her crimes were revealed to the emperor. The princess, whose name was Amanda, was reborn and swore to correct her mistakes and be a good wife to her husband, the future emperor of the kingdom. Gabrielle found the story very appealing, especially since the character of Amanda eventually found out, following
Back home at Braeton, Gabrielle was sleeping face down on Kyle's bed, tired after her audition trip. Kyle had to wake her at nine in the evening, just to check if she has had supper. "Gaby, did you eat dinner?" He leaned over and pecked on her cheek, repeating his query, "Did you eat? Because I could use a company." Rolling heavily on her back, Gabrielle took a deep breath. She forced a smile and opened her eyes, saying, "Hi handsome, how was your day?" Pouting her lips she declared, "I sure miss you. I could use a kiss." She wrapped her arms around the man's neck and forced him to lie on top of her. For seconds, they indulged in a passionate kiss, only to stop upon hearing Kyle's growling tummy. "Beautiful, I am usually more greedy for you, but today, I did not eat lunch so I am hungry as hell." Kyle gave her one last peck before helping her out of bed. "Let's eat." As they ate, Gabrielle reported the status of the audition. She s
"Action!" Clothed in silk-like material, Princess Amanda gasped dramatically, seeing her husband for the first time in that lifetime. She awoke that day, realizing she had been reborn on the day of their marriage. With nothing but the yearning in her eyes, her lips trembled as she called on to him, "Prince Lark?" A tear fell down her cheek as she rushed to her husband with a sweet embrace. "My prince, I will never leave your side this time," the character of Princess Amanda unwittingly muttered, making the prince laugh. "Princess Amanda, while I have longed to marry you, I am surprised by your immediate affection," reported Prince Lark. The princess, played by Gabrielle, quickly retreated her arms and took a step back. She lowered her gaze before apologizing, "I'm - I'm sorry." She performed to blush and reasoned, "You are truly handsome. I - I just could not help it." Following a few more lines from the script,
