Rejection

Thea sneaked out of the room just the way she came in, but when she got outside, a bodyguard saw her leaving.

"Your highness." He called out and she instantly runs away from his sight.

The bodyguard stood up quickly and ran after her but Thea already left the vicinity of the chamber. He went back to check on his men and have them wake up then he also checked on Alpha Ethan but realized that everything in the room was normal.

"What did she go to do in there?." He thought to himself curiously.

Thea dashed into the room with tear-filled eyes. She couldn't narrate what she saw to Ina who came up to her with an anxious expression as she saw her in that state.

"Princess. What happened to you?." Ina was curious but Thea made her understand that she wanted privacy. Ina was a bit worried but after a few explanations from Thea, she was finally convinced that she only needed privacy and sleep. Thea managed to hide her tears while Ina was around until she left and the heavy downpour of tears began to flow freely down her face and crimson cheeks.

She looked at the keys she managed to secure from Ethan's room and tightened her fist on them to the extent that she got injured. Thea was still determined to go see and unchain Maxwell but she couldn't fathom why she felt so hurt by seeing Alpha Ethan and the beautiful she-wolf in bed.

The next morning, In Ethan's room. He instructed the maidens to help Becca dress up as he slides into a robe and went outside the room.

"It was a bit noisy earlier. What transpired here?." He inclined.

"Alpha, we saw the Luna leaving your room in the early hours. We thought you both." The Bodyguard stuttered.

"Both did what?." His tone increased.

The bodyguard kneels fearfully and bowed.

"We didn't know when she got inside. We would have prevented her. Alpha. I think someone tampered with our meals." He confessed.

Realization dawned on him that Thea must've come to his room last night to steal the keys and release Maxwell.

"What about the prisoner?."

"He is still there."

Ethan arched a brow confusingly.

If Maxwell was still in captivity, it meant Thea didn't find the keys in his room. Instantly, he went back to check.

"Alpha," Becca called out softly as she was being dressed up by the Maidens. A maid combed her silk blonde hair backward softly.

Ethan goes to check for the keys before proceeding toward her.

He placed a kiss on her lips softly but Becca wanted more and he declined.

"You have to leave soon." He reminded.

"I wouldn't mind if you ask me to stay. Alpha." She says seductively.

"We would see later tonight. Right now, I have an important issue to attend to."

"Does it involve the Luna?." She asked and Ethan was silent.

"Rebecca, I am very busy and have to leave."

Ethan goes into his dressing room and came out in black regalia designed with golden flowery patterns. He heads out of the room immediately and went straight to meet Thea.

Without notice, he entered her room even though Ina informed him that Thea was still in bed. Ethan cared less.

Thea wasn't asleep as Ina claimed. She just sat there on the bed looking miserable.

"What are you doing in my room?." Thea asked Ethan stood facing her in the room.

"I should be asking you. Why did you come into my room last night? I thought you didn't want to be with me?." He grinned.

"I didn't come to be with you, Ethan. Don't flatter yourself too much." She retorts sharply. Her utterances made Ethan rush towards her on the bed and grabbed her neck tight.

They struggled with her breath as she fought to make Ethan leave her.

"Where are the keys?." Ethan inquired but she pretends to be confused when his grip tightened, Thea pointed to her wardrobe and he Abruptly let go of her. Making her end on the cold floor.

Ethan saw the keys as soon as he reached the wardrobe. It was the first thing he saw before she neatly arranged clothes which emerged her natural fragrance.

Ethan went back to her on the bed.

"If you got the key successfully last night, why didn't you release your lover?."

"I do not have to answer you, Ethan. Please leave my room." She begged.

"And if I don't want to?."

"Then I would have to leave for you to make yourself comfortable in here." The replies and stood up from the bed.

Ethan pulled her back into his arms.

Thea was infuriated and disgusted. Having him touch her that way, flashy images of him having another woman sleep in his arms came through and she got irritated instantly. Ethan inhaled the fragrance from her hair satisfyingly. Just as he was getting intoxicated by her scent, she began to struggle.

"Alpha Ethan, let go of me." She pulled out and he allowed her. They both stared at each other awkwardly and Ethan felt a strange urge to affectionate towards the woman. He knew the mate bond was at it again. Before he would do anything, he left the room hurriedly.

Moments later, Ethan went to the dungeon concerning Maxwell's issue. He was tempted to have his bodyguards execute Maxwell at that moment but a thought came to his mind.

Maxwell was the only reason why Thea isn't behaving stubbornly or trying to run away again. He couldn't let go of max now since he still has good use of him.

Max was too weak and unable to move due to the endless tortures. Ethan just inspected him to make sure he wasn't dead yet before he left.

He returned to his room and realized that a woman was on his bed. She wore sexy lingerie and her long wavy hair was brushed against her lower back.

Becca turned to Ethan when she heard that he entered the room. Her glaring eyes were filled with lust and her revealing dress was enough to turn him on. She noticed his mood but pretends not to.

"What are you doing here?." His cold voice spoke.

"Alpha, we both know the reason why I came here tonight. This isn't new to us." She explained briefly.

"I do not want your service tonight Rebecca." He pushed her aside gently. Declining her offer.

"Why? But we both love each other. Isn't that enough for you to leave that woman?"

"That woman is my mate, the Luna of Dark-Night pack" he yelled.

"You can make me your Luna, once you mark me, I'll be yours forever." Rebecca lamented. unable to accept his rejection, Becca pushed herself into his arms and began kissing him roughly.

The door suddenly opened behind them.
