Thank you for reading! Weekend Bonus chapter 2 of 2. I had time and I was so happy with the reviews you gave, I decided to write, despite today being a Sunday. Happy Weekend, ladies. I hope you loved the two chapters.
Kaleb checked his mobile just as he entered the penthouse. He thought, ‘She did not reply.’ As he walked in, he muttered, “They should be asleep by now.” It was already twelve in the evening when he arrived, coming from an entire day of work at the company. He first knocked on the door where Scarlett was supposed to rest, but after hearing no answer, he turned the knob. It was open and the air conditioning was switched off. He smiled, guessing how she must be staying with his son at the moment. Kaleb bathed and changed into his pajamas before making his way to Liam’s room. Only then did he find Scarlett, embracing Liam as they rested on his bed. Walking to the side where Liam slept, he leaned over and pecked his cheek. He whispered, “Love you, Liam. Sleep tight.” He sat on the edge of the bed, facing the headboard and cherishing the view. The way Scarlett held Liam in her arms, so protectively and lovingly, warmed his heart. He swore he found the one. A smirk formed on his f
"Mmmm,” Scarlett moaned. She took a whiff of that spicy scent, resembling that of a man’s aftershave. Her head nestled on a more solid pillow and her arm stretched to embrace… what it felt like to her… was a man’s body. Panic struck her. She abruptly opened her eyes, only to find Kaleb’s godly face inching closer to her. The thuds against her ribcage grew louder in her head, all while feeling her throat become paper dry of embarrassment. She gulped, screaming in her head, ‘Oh, my god! So much for a little while!’ "If you wanted to sleep with me so badly, you should have just said so," Kaleb said in a raspy yet sexy voice. “I knew you wanted my body, but I didn’t think you’d act so fast on your carnal desires.” Scarlett's mouth fell open, repeating his words silently, ‘Carnal desires?’ She frantically slid out of bed, her eyes searching for Liam and after seeing the boy was still fast asleep, she claimed, “I - I.” She gulped and resumed, “I sometimes sleepwalk.” Kaleb’s eyes nar
[Cindy: Scarlett, we need to talk to you about an urgent matter. Come to the mansion on Tuesday.] [Cindy: Why are you not answering? Don't forget Tuesday. 10 AM.] [Analisa: Scarlett, I have been calling you for two days. How come I cannot reach you? Your parents have called me to speak to you. You are needed at the Barnes mansion on Tuesday morning. Philip is deciding on his last will. He has not been well lately.] Scarlett sighed, seeing the text messages of her biological mother, Cindy Barnes, and her so-called mother, who had raised her for sixteen years, Analisa, Courtney's real mother. She grumbled, “So that’s why they wanted me to go to the mansion.” “Should I go?” She asked herself. “Are they even going to leave something for me?” For minutes, Scarlett just sat on the edge of her bed, considering. ‘Courtney will be there and what are the chances that Luca will be there too? Do I have the courage to face them?’ Then again, the thought of her father being unwell made her hea
“Are you ready?” Kaleb asked, thrilled for his very first date with Scarlett. “Umm.” Scarlett was standing at the door to her room, pursing her lips. She replied, “Yes, I am, but - “ “Daddy! I’m ready too!” Liam’s head popped out from behind Scarlett's frame, his smile reaching his ears. “I’m excited!” ‘Daddy, I’m ready too.’ ‘Daddy, I’m ready too.’ The words of Liam repeatedly rang in Kaleb’s head, and it took several seconds for everything to register. His son was going with them on his very first date with Scarlett. “Sorry,” Scarlett softly said. “He was pretty insistent.” Earlier that morning, all Liam had to say to Scarlett was, “Do you love me or not? Then… you should bring me to your date with daddy. You can’t leave me.” Scarlett just could not say no to him, and she could tell Kaleb was the same. As Liam showed his enthusiasm, Kaleb eventually surrendered to the charms of his son. “I’m excited, daddy!” Liam said, reaching for Kaleb’s hand. “I can see that,” Kale
“Here, Liam. Have some more of this beef stew. It’s really good,” Scarlett encouraged while putting a bowl in front of Liam. The boy smiled and while his father stepped out of the restaurant to take a phone call; he took the opportunity to ask Scarlett what has been going through his mind. “My Beauty, daddy said, I can't marry you? Is that true?" Scarlett blinked, slowly finding the right words to say. She sought, “Well, Liam, what do you think is the answer to that?” Liam sighed and said with a serious expression, “Well, I know I’m too young to get married.” A giggle left Scarlett’s lips. She caressed the boy’s head and said, “You know this already, right? I’m sure you are a smart boy. Besides, why did you want to marry me in the first place? How did that come into your mind?” “Because I really like you. You are so pretty and nice. I liked you from the day we met," he answered. Liam fell silent for a moment before suddenly adding, "Dad loves me but daddy is busy too. My friends
Scarlett was feeling hot all over. Her heart was beating so fast. Kaleb’s solid chest was pinning her against the door, his arms keeping her from escaping. The scent of his spicy cologne easily filled her nostrils, and it added to her undisciplined excitement. As he spoke, she felt his hot breath against her forehead. He was gradually and most certainly moving down, his eyes fixed on her plum lips. ‘This man!’ Scarlett could not wrap her head around it. ‘He was just downright shameless!’ Yet, in spite of what she thought of him, when Kaleb moved closer, her knees and arms turned like noodles, surrendering for what was about to come. Her head was telling her to say no, but her body stilled, unwittingly accepting his advances. “As you wish, I’m all yours now. Let’s kiss and seal the deal, shall we?” Kaleb said, and Scarlett did not miss how he gulped before inching closer to her lips. It did not take long before their noses touched, and their lips brushed together. When Kaleb
“Coffee?” Scarlett said, raising the mug in her hand. She entered Kaleb’s study that afternoon while the man was busy going over some documents. “Thank you, my kitten. Come here,” he said while winking at her. He then urged her to take the seat in front of him. Putting the warm beverage on the desk, Scarlett informed, “Liam is sleeping. He is still tired from yesterday. I thought you didn’t work on Sundays.” “Hmmm.” Kaleb reached for the coffee and replied, “Most times, it can’t be helped, but I at least bring work home. Though, this is not work. I’m reviewing what Archer has planned for taking down your former manager, Miss Cook, at the herbal twist restaurant.” “You are what? You don’t have to - “ “Of course, I do. I’m not letting this go, Scarlett. God knows what would have happened to you if you did not have the courage to kick that man’s balls,” Kaleb responded. He took a sip of his coffee and said, “And no, you can’t make me change my mind. After your manager, I’m going af
Standing in front of the driveway, Scarlett studied her reflection through the glass windows of the Third Diamond Hotel. Seeing how professional she appeared to be, she smiled while turning to Kaleb. She said, “Thank you for the clothes.” That day was Scarlett’s interview at the Longhills and Hogans Associates, the best law firm in the city. So instead of going to Liam’s school, Scarlett would take a mode of private transport, arranged by the hotel. “Good luck, kitten.” Kaleb leaned over and pecked on her lips. Then after, he winked at her and said, “Break a leg… and. You look great.” “Are you guys married now? Can I call you mommy now?” The couple both turned to Liam, smirking in front of them, his arms crossed against his chest. Scarlett turned red at Liam's suggestion and Kaleb answered the boy, “Not yet, son, but as soon as Scarlett passes the board exams, we will make the arrangements.” Dumbfounded, Scarlett turned to Kaleb, but he just chuckled at her, saying, “We talked a
