Chapter 5

After Ava finished her dinner, she smiled in satisfaction as she looked at Sam and asked, “Uncle, how well do you know the prominent families in the capital?”’

She had heard of the Wyatt family, but she did not know much about the family. She was also not sure if Leo was from the infamous Wyatt or if his surname was just a coincidence. But regardless, of whether he was a young master of the prominent family, or if he was just from a normal family, she had to find him.

Sam did not understand why Ava asked that question all of a sudden. In the past three years, the only thing she had been interested in was to win her husband’s heart, but now…

“Which family are you asking about?”

“The Wyatt family. Could they happen to have a Young Master by the name of Leo?” Ava asked.

Sam was shocked when he heard Ava say that name so casually.

Ava did not wait for him to answer as his expression had already told her that it was true. Her eyes lit up and her face broke into a sweet smile. Well, it seemed like she was not far away from meeting that man.

Now, all she needed was a way to contact him.

“Uncle Sam, is Leo in the capital? Although I was born here, I know nothing about those centuries-old families. Is there a way that I can possibly reach him?”

“Ava, you… what do you want with the Young Master of the Wyatt family?” Sam asked, baffled.

Could it be that she was tired of the marriage and she wanted to cheat on her husband?

But from his understanding of Ava, she could never do such a thing.

Ava looked at Sam and probably guessed what was going on in his mind. She laughed lightly and said in a calm tone, “Uncle Sam, don’t overthink. I owe him a huge favor and I just want to thank him, but I have no way of contacting him. You know how my life is, I don’t have any powerful friends that could help me with this favor.”

“You… how did you two meet?”

When Ava heard that question, she remembered the memories from her dream. The man had held her tenderly in his arms as if he was afraid of hurting her, and had spoken to her so gently. Her eyes were dazed for a moment before she came back to her senses.

“I… well, Uncle Sam, just help him find him.”

“I don’t know if I can help with that.”

“The Young Master of the Wyatt family has never shown his face in public and no one particularly knows what he looks like. I heard that he went overseas when he was young and he has never come back ever since.”

Ava felt her mood reach the bottom of her stomach when she heard that. But in her memories, she had died in the city, and that man had been here. Could it be that everything she dreamed about was not true?

But what about the divorce, and the car accident? Was it a nightmare and they had not actually happened?

But how was that possible? It was not like she had the ability to see the future.

Ava was confused. She had thought that she finally had the chance to change her fate, but now, everything that she had dreamed about seemed to be a lie.

Just as she was about to accept her everything was fake, she heard Sam continue, “But I heard that old master had requested him to come back to inherit the business. The news shook the whole capital and if it is true, then he might already be in the country.”

Ava’s eyes brightened when she heard that. See, fate was on her side in this lifetime.

“Uncle Sam, thank you so much. You have no idea what this means to me.”Ava said.

this time, she was not going to put her fate in anyone’s hands. Everything that happens in her life from now on will be solely up to her.

Seeing the genuine joy overflowing from her eyes, Butler Sam did not know what to do. Now, he was certain that something was different about Ava but no matter how much he thought about it, he did not find a reasonable explanation.

Maybe it was for the better.

The next morning, Ava woke up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. Looking at her beautiful face that was full of life, she wondered why she had been so stupid in the past that she had not taken care of herself.

All her thoughts had been on pleasing that jackass, but now that she knew how it all turned out, she was not going to repeat the same mistake. This time, she was only going to indulge those who indulge. As for wasting her emotions on unnecessary people, she was done being stupid.

Sam seemed to have waited for her for a long time. When he saw her coming down the stairs, looking more beautiful than she had yesterday, his eyes glistened with a strange light.

Seeing that she was no longer looking like an eighty-years-old woman who carried the sins of the world, for whatever reason, he was happy for her. Only if Jason was here, maybe he could have felt something too.

As Ava walked down the stairs, an unfamiliar face greeted her respectfully, “Morning Ma’am, what would you like to have for breakfast?”

Ava frowned, and she was about to ask what was going on when she heard Sam’s voice.

“She among the new batches of servants. After what happened yesterday, I found a more professional team.”

Ava smiled in understanding. She had slept in a very incredible mood that she had forgotten about what happened yesterday.

She looked at the new face, and seeing that she was beautiful like a doll and her eyes were clear and pure, Ava smiled in satisfaction.

She said in a friendly tone, “Anything is fine.”

“Alright, Ma’am.”

After the maid left, Ava looked at Sam.

Sam cleared his throat and handed her a piece of paper. He spoke as he looked at her, “That was all I managed to find out.”

Ava looked at the address and her eyes lit up. With this, finding the man would be very easy.

She hurriedly ate her breakfast, and just as she was about to go find her prince, two unexpected visitors entered the house.

Well, they were not really unexpected as they could come and go as they wished as if they owned the place.

The moment they entered and saw Ava, they started commanding her, “Ava, I am starving, quickly serve me breakfast.” Cecile said in a commanding voice.

Beth looked at her and followed suit, “Bring me a cup of warm water. My stomach has not been feeling well lately.”

Ava looked at them and scoffed. She did not even spare them a second glance as she asked, “When you came in from the gate, did you see any hotel or hospital sign around?”

Both Cecile and Beth were stunned. They both looked at Ava as if they were seeing her for the first time. And when they finally had a clear look, surprise flashed through their eyes.

The same question echoed in their minds, “When did Ava become so beautiful and bold?”

Cecile was the first one to snap out of her daze. She looked at Ava and asked in a freezing voice, “What do you mean?”

Ava sneered. She looked at Cecile in the eyes and enunciated each word, “The literal meaning, Ma’am. This is neither a hotel where you can come in when you are starving, nor is it a hospital, where you go when your stomach is not feeling well. This is my house, and as far as I can tell, I am not a chef nor a doctor.”

Cecile and Beth received another wave of shock. Now, they really felt like they were meeting this woman for the first and they could not help but take a step back.

This… something seemed off.

What was wrong with this weakling? Had she taken the wrong medicine today?

Ava looked at them. She did not have time to waste, so she picked up the handbag that she had dropped on the sofa and headed towards the door.

Before her hand reached the door knob, Cecile instinctively shouted, “Where are you going?”

She was used to Ava groveling at her feet and serving her, and now that she was being ignored, she did not feel good about it.

Ava stopped in her tracks and turned to look at her. She asked in return, “And where do you think I am going?”

Beth could not take it anymore. She looked at Ava as if she was looking at an ant and questioned, “What is with you, Ava? Don’t you know better than to mess with us?”

“I know better that is why I am giving you guys all the freedom you want. But if you think that I am being rude or anything, you are welcome to leave the same way you came. This is my house, and I can do whatever I want.”

“You have grown some balls, young lady.”

“Believe me, if I had them, you would not even be in my sight right now,” Ava said. She was fearless and seeing the mother-daughter speechless faces, she actually felt good.

They have bullied her for far too long and now it was time she put them in their places.

When Ava reached Emerald Hotel, she almost could not make it inside. Although she had been born in the Capital, this was the first time she had been to a place like this.

This was a membership-only hotel and no one could enter. After begging the security guard for almost half a day, she finally managed to enter the parking, but that was as far as she could get.

Ava was not going to leave without seeing the man. She was so bored sitting in the car alone. Just as she was about to doze off, another car entered the parking. Ava did not have much hope but when she saw the familiar face getting out of the car with the help of his assistant, her heart suddenly thumped.

She immediately pushed the car door open and got out.

Seeing that the man was about to enter the lift, Ava shouted out his name, “Mr. Wyatt!”

She had contemplated calling him by his first name but she was too embarrassed since they were not familiar with each other.

Leo was stunned when someone suddenly called out his name. He turned around and under the dim light, he saw a breathtaking woman looking at him with her bright eyes and a sweet smile on her lips.

Leo was only flabbergasted for a few seconds before he returned to his unfeeling self. He looked at Ava like he was looking at a walking corpse.
