Chapter 127 Standing Up for Each Other

The old man's expression softened considerably as he looked at Melanie.

"I arrived not too long ago. I'm just out for a stroll," he replied.

Remembering the many traditional dresses in the old man's wardrobe, Melanie figured he likely had someone close who adored them.

She approached him and whispered, "Sir, if you're looking for traditional dresses, I can take you to a shop run by an old tailor. The ones here are all flashy. I'm only here because they're good for appearances."

The old man chuckled at her remark, his wrinkles creasing in amusement as he nodded.

"Okay, then. Please wait a moment. I'll try on some clothes," she said before turning to instruct the store clerk who was with her, "This gentleman is with me. Please take good care of him."

"Of course," the store clerk replied.

After Melanie had defused the situation, the store clerks were visibly relieved. They now had a newfound respect for her as they helped lead the old man to a waiting area.
