"You've got it all wrong," Melanie sighed, feeling the need to clarify.

"Yes, we're married. The term 'uncle' is just a nickname," She awkwardly explained with a tight-lipped smile.

"I don't care about any of that!" The old man snapped impatiently.

Without warning, he turned around and pressed something, causing the trap on Jeffrey's leg to snap open.

Melanie heard Jeffrey suppress a groan of pain.

Seeing the bleeding wound on Jeffrey's leg, she could only imagine the agony he must be feeling.

She frowned deeply and urgently asked, "Sir, is there a hospital nearby?"

"Look around! There's no one here, and you're asking about a hospital?" The old man retorted sarcastically.

"It's just a flesh wound. I'm fine," Jeffrey reassured her.

He remained seated on the ground without moving.

Melanie's eyes were fixed on his injury, concern clearly in her eyes.

It was rare to see her like this. Was she really worried about him?

"Are you worried about me?" He blurted out in surprise.
