”W-what hard thing?!”

Jeffrey sat up as he came to realize something. He pulled out his bag from under Melanie and said, "Are you aware of safety tools?"

"Huh?"

Melanie's expression grew increasingly awkward.

Jeffrey pursed his lips and held himself back for a few seconds before breaking into a grin. "Ms. Jones, what were you thinking? It was a flashlight, climbing ropes, and antidotes... okay?"

Melanie blinked as she watched him pull out the tools one by one as if to prove himself.

"Ahem, let's move on."

Having said that, she turned on the flashlight and walked ahead to conceal her embarrassment.

Jeffrey chuckled out loud on purpose as he followed leisurely her and watched her guilty silhouette.
