Emma's POV

My phone rang, breaking me from my fantasies. It was Robin, asking if I had got their Luna. I peeped out through the windshield to see her getting into a cab and riding away with a pretty smile on her face.

I groaned in annoyance and said, “Yeah, I got her.”

“Okay, Alpha. It is almost time, drive here safely.”

I hung up on the call and stepped on the gas pedal, hunting down the cab she got in. I managed to get a hold of them and used my car to literally block them.

The driver sprang out, wanting to fight but as soon as he saw that it was me, he immediately rolled his tongue back inside, “Alpha? Is everything alright?”

I ignored him and glared at the nonchalant woman sitting in the backseat. I opened the door and said, “Come with me.”

“No, thank you. I am comfortable.” Her attitude was getting on my nerves. I leaned down and whispered in her ears, “I am not moving my car unless you get in it.”

“You can't do that.”

There was no use indulging with things that won't matter in the future. After the festival, it was time for the Moon gala- a relaxed celebration for the pack but the biggest gathering of the territory. We had visitoasfrom other packs coming to see the gala.Since Silveason hosts the biggest gala, we had big preparations as well. It was as if we had set up an entire carnival- we had smiles, games and even giant wheels. The kids joined msmilesng with Robin and the others as soon as we came out of the temple.I picked the

Emma's POVI let what he said sink in and realized that my experience with her was the same. “She did the same to me. Well, sort of.” I said, “I told you, right?”“You did.” He said, “I don't understand what she is trying to do. I feel like the Sinclair family is onto something.”“I don't think so.”“Why? Just because she said she has changed, you believed her readily that she has indeed changed?”“No, that's not it.” I said and struggled to find words to explain to him. After thinking for a while, I said, “See, Desiree is evil because of hatred, not because she was born like that. She won't hurt you unless you hurt her first.”“We crashed her brother's party and proved that her best friend is a psychopath. Those are enough motives.”“She was the one who invited us to that party, remember? Why would she do that?”Alex zipped his lips again, not having anything to say.I wanted to say something but I did not have enough courage to tell it to him directly. So, I thought it was a brillia

Emma's POVThe soft beeping of the heart monitor was the first thing I heard as I slowly regained consciousness. My head was foggy, like I had been submerged in water, struggling to break the surface. My limbs felt heavy, as though they were made of lead, and every inch of my body screamed in pain. But the worst part? The cold, empty feeling in my chest. I couldn't remember what had happened. I couldn't remember how I had ended up here, lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by bland white walls.I tried to open my eyes, but they felt weighted, unwilling to obey my command. With a small groan, I forced them open, squinting against the bright lights above me. The world around me was blurry, the shapes and figures shifting like shadows.
