Chapter 8

Third POV

FIVE YEARS LATER

A white car sliding to a stop under a towering glass and steel of a skyscraper. As soon as the driver got out of the car and opened the back door, everyone on the road stopped what they were doing and looked at the car.

A pair of white heels came into their sight. Then a woman in her mid-twenties got out of the car.

She was in a sharp, white power suit. Her beautiful features were captivating; her nude-colored lipstick matched her face so well that they had never seen such natural beauty before. However, they felt a shiver when their eyes fell on the pair of cold eyes.

The way she strode into the building, it was like she owned the place... and she did.

It was Easton Group, and she was the CEO of the company.

In fact, the entire pack was hers.

She was the Luna of this pack who had been ruling the pack single-handedly for the past five years.

No one expected the childish girl to grow into a fierce woman capable of ruling the business world better than a man.

When she walked in, everyone could feel the change in the air.

"Luna is here!"

Everyone in the lobby straightened up, pretending to be busy.

As if she can see right through you, you must demonstrate to her that you are giving your all to her company.

As she passed them, everyone began to bow to her. With a simple nod, she discarded them coldly.

All eyes were on her. She moved gracefully through the lobby, her heels clicking on the marble floor. People made way for her as if the Red Sea was parting.

"Luna!"

A young man was almost running towards her. He was her personal assistant, Sam.

He had many folders in his hand, holding them tightly against his chest.

He started firing off the updates about the meeting that would start the moment she went to the meeting room.

"The Milano Group's new presentation looks great," he said, checking a folder while walking beside her.

"What about Mr. Davis?" she asked, coming to a stop in front of the elevator.

"Luna, he is already here with the potential investors. The Alphas of different packs arrived just for the meeting."

She barely acknowledged him, giving him a slight nod. Her attention was entirely focused ahead, on the elevator door.

Anyone could tell that this guy had to be on his toes to keep up with her.

The elevator door opened.

She walked in, her assistant right behind her, still informing her about the meeting details.

The door closed, and the entire company was probably holding their breath down there.

Meanwhile,

Inside the big meeting room,

The air was thick, and the room was buzzing with tension. The important Alphas in expensive suits were seated around the large mahogany table, their eyes glued to the door.

Whispers coughed throughout the room until the door opened, and she walked in.

The Alphas spoke out.

“CEO Violet Easton is here.”

She commanded the room the moment she entered; she had earned the respect.

The past five years have been a transformation. She had become a force to be reckoned with. She had learned the hard knocks of business and the way to deal with these dominant men.

There was silence that fell over the room. Every Alpha was looking at her with mesmerized eyes. However, they knew who she was and what power she held.

She was a widow, but a woman whom they could not mess with. She did not need a man to keep her safe. She had the upper hand in every situation and had been protecting her entire pack on her own.

Violet moved with an authority that belied her age.

Her sharp suit and confident stride screamed success.

Violet took her seat at the head of the table, exuding calm confidence.

She glanced around the room. Her eyes stopped on an empty chair. It was the other head chair at the end of the table.

Her brow furrowed, and a look of irritation crossed her face as she fixed her gaze on the empty chair.

“Who hasn't arrived yet?” She questioned in a cold tone.

Everyone cast a glance at the seat. One of the Alphas spoke in a nervous tone.

“Alpha Daniel has yet to come.”

The woman's brows slightly moved, not liking the answer.

"Alpha Daniel?"

The tension in the room ratcheted up a notch as soon as the Alphas heard about Daniel Collins.

They did not expect Alpha Daniel to choose to come here either. For the last five years, they had never heard of him and Violet encountering each other in any meeting. It was as if the woman wanted her late husband's rivalry to continue.

The men shifted uncomfortably in their seats. Alpha Daniel was someone they could not even think to approach. He chose his own people and companies to collaborate with. It was hard to predict whether he would come here.

After all, the Scarlet Howl Pack was the Crimson Howl Pack's main rival.

Sam was standing beside Violet's chair. He bent down and said politely,

"Luna, maybe he won't come. Should we start the meet—"

The meeting room door swung open, interrupting Sam.

Every single person in the room stiffened in fear. They could not believe that The Alpha Daniel had come to this rival pack for a collaboration.

Then... he walked in.

The man was something else. He was drop-dead handsome, capable of eating a hundred attractive men for breakfast.

However, there was more to him than just his looks. There was a darkness that surrounded him, an aura of power and danger.

His eyes were intense, filled with a burning hunger that made everyone in the room uneasy.

Violet turned her head with a cold look, but as soon as her eyes locked with his, something ignited inside her, causing her to clench her jaw.

The past reflected before her eyes. Her husband’s accident came to her mind, causing her to look away from him immediately.

The man approached the table's empty head chair, hands in his pockets, ignoring every other man in the room.

His assistant, Nick, came along with him.

After sitting on the chair, Daniel leaned his back against it. His gaze shifted to the woman at the other end of the table, sitting across from him.

Observing her with his dark eyes, he smirked and spoke up with a mocking tone.

"Looks like CEO Easton was not expecting me. But see, I am here to say hello to her."
