Elara's POV

"Then prove it," Lyra snapped. "Go on your knees and apologize properly until I am convinced."

At first, I thought I had misheard her. On my knees? She can't be serious, right? No she can't be.

Damian stiffened. "Lyra—"

She cut him off with a sharp glare. "Stay out of this, Damian."

Then she returned her gaze back to me and repeated. "Go on your knees, Elara."

She wasn't joking—she was damn serious.

I parted my mouth but no words came out. I wanted to argue — to use my regular line 'I'm your Luna' to make her back off. I wanted to tell her she could go to hell. But I needed to do this— I needed them to believe that I was truly 'sorry'.

And this is no time to worry about honor, was it? My honor won't save my family. My honor won't make them pay for everything they did. For now, I choose to throw those honors away.

I lowered myself and dropped to my knees, my heart hammering against my ribs. The pungent scent of the hospital suddenly felt suffocating as I pressed my palm

Elara's POVBack at the Pack house, the preparation for Damian's coronation ceremony was in full swing. The grand hall was decorated with shimmering lights and banners bearing the Pack's power, but despite the celebration in the atmosphere, the pack members remained distant. Damian might have taken the title, but not their approval and loyalty.I moved through the crowd like a ghost, unnoticed yet aware of every judgemental stares, and whispers. Despite convincing the elders the previous day, the people still didn't trust Damian and that means they don't trust me too. And if this kept going, it might turn into chaos.I deliberately avoided Damian throughout the ceremony, slipping away anytime he tried to get close to me. But I could feel the tension inside him. Regret? A silent plea? I can't really deduce, but it doesn't matter to me anyways. When it was time for the official coronation at the grand hall, the Pack members could no longer keep calm. Their whispers grew louder.Seated b

Damian's POV Elara's words echoed in my mind, stirring a suspicious feeling—one I didn't want to entertain inside me.'Let me work at the company.'The silence stretched between us as I studied her carefully, searching as if I could somehow see her ulterior motive behind those steady, unwavering eyes. Elara was feisty, she isn't one to back down from a challenge easily, but this was unexpected. She had spent weeks resisting, rebelling, and yet now, she wanted to step into my world willingly. She even stood up for me when the Pack members doubted my capabilities, even went as far as kneeling down to show her sincere apologies to Lyra. This isn't the Elara I know. This woman won't retreat like this. Maybe she was tired of everything? Or perhaps she accepted her fate knowing quite well she was stuck with me forever.I narrowed my eyes. "Why?"She crossed her arms, her posture surprisingly composed despite the clear tension bubbling between us. "I need to get busy," she replied simply. "

Elara's POV Carefully, I masked my disappointed expression into neutrality as I stared at the two people standing in front of me.Ethan, my newly assigned bodyguard, was tall and interesting, his sharp blue eyes makes it difficult to read his mind. Clara, on the other hand, had a calculating glint that instantly tells me that there was more to her presence here. Her clipboard was clutched tightly to her chest, as if it held all the secrets of the world.I exhaled slowly, forcing a polite smile. "A bodyguard and an assistant? How thoughtful of the Alpha."Ethan remained silent, his expression stoic. Clara, however, flashed a professional smile that was cringe. "The Alpha has instructed us to assist you in any way necessary, Luna. I will be handing your schedule, reports and all work-related information."In simple terms: She was here as a human surveillance camera. While Ethan was here to keep track of my movements. Interesting.I leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms. "I appreciat

Elara's POV The next day, just around the time I had told Mr Graham to meet me at the hospital, I walked into Damian's office. I stood before him, my heart racing but my posture relaxed. I had to do this. One misstep, and everything would fall apart."The doctor told me the last time to come in for regular check-ups. I want to go today since it's the weekend," I told him, keeping my tone as neutral as possible.Damian barely looked up from his paperwork. "You can leave," he said. Happiness surged through me as I resisted the urge to clench my fists in victory before he added, "Take Ethan with you."Ethan. That is it. I didn't know why I expected Damian would let me go alone. My mind raced for a perfect excuse and when I found one, I feigned mild annoyance. "There's no need for that. If a guard follows me, rumours will start spreading that I'm sick. Do you really want people speculating about the Luna's health?"That got his attention, his jaw clenching. Damian was already calculative

Elara's POVI met her gaze, unflinching. "Don't be ridiculous.""Then you won't mind if I stay." She responded.I resisted the urge to mutter a curse. She was digging, pushing me to my limit. If I forced her out, she'd become more suspicious. "Suit yourself," I said indifferently, taking the empty seat beside her.As the doctor carried out the examination, I briefly checked the time and it was already 2pm—the time I had told Mr Graham to meet me. My mind raged with annoyance. She had just ruined my plans of meeting with Mr Graham. I couldn't even imagine the disappointment I'd feel if the busy man had decided to show up and I was the one who didn't. But then disappointing him was safer than letting Lyra suspect something. One hour later, the checkup was over and it was time to head home.I stepped into the parking lot, but as I reached my car, I heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching. "Why would you keep me waiting?"I turned to see Mr Graham, his sharp eyes studying

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 18

Elara's POV As night fell, I made my way to Damian's study, dressed in a silk nightgown that clung to my body in all the right places. It was also transparent, revealing my breasts and ass that had no panties or bra. If Lyra thought she had won, then she was solely mistaken. In the three years of our marriage, I knew exactly what Damian desired, how to draw him in. And tonight, I intended to play that game right.I stepped into his dimly lit room, my voice soft but laced with intent. "I thought to come see you," I murmured, my fingers trailing over his desk as I approached him.Damian looked up from his laptop, his gaze darkened with lust as it roamed over me. "What are you doing, Elara?" he asked, softly but the disbelief in his voice was unmistakable. Thank Moon Goddess he knew —he knew that I'd never throw myself at him easily.I circled around the table and stood in front of him. I pushed back the laptop and sat by the edge of the desk. I lifted one of my legs and positioned it on

Elara's POV"Elara.... stop," he screamed but I didn't answer him. Instead, I brought out my fingers which were dripping with my arousal and took them close to my mouth. I parted my mouth and wanted to dip it inside but his strong hand gripped my wrist.I opened my eyes to find Damian in front of me, his eyes had gotten darker, his control slipping away. "You asked for this, Elara," he growled. He took the fingers and dipped into his mouth, tasting me like his favourite candy.I won. But....then I knew this wasn't just about the bet the Lyra. I wanted this and maybe I had used the bet as an opportunity."Fuck...." He murmured, bringing my fingers out of his mouth. "Always so fresh."I smiled at his compliments. He positioned me properly on the table, and parted my thighs. His fingers trailed around my entrance slowly as if he was memorising and worshipping every detail. He slipped the straps of my nightgown off my shoulders, revealing my aching breasts, the sensitive peaks hardening a

Damian's POV The moment Elara walked out of my study it was like the air left my throat. My hands curled into fists, my body still burning from the thrill of her touch, her scent lingering like an intoxicating wine.Fuck!I should have stopped her the moment she came in, I should have sent her away before she ever got the chance to have me wrapped under her fingers. But I didn't. And now, I'm suffering the aftermath of my actions.I sat back on the chair, running a hand through my hair. The throbbing in my groin was overwhelming, unbearable, a painful reminder of what I wanted to do right now. I want Elara to kneel in front of me, then I gag my dick down her throat. My jaw clenched again, as the realization that Elara still had power over me and she knew it.After the last time I had sex with her, I swore not to do that again. I knew she enjoyed it just as much as I did, but I couldn't shake off the thought that I still forced it on her. And then she was humiliated by Lyra. I sat the

Elara's POV "No!" I screamed as the guards seized me once more. "Damian you're mistaken! I didn't try to kill you!" I kept talking, desperation clawing at me in a futile hope that he would believe me but Damian wasn't listening. Instead he watched as the guards led me away roughly. "She stays there until I decide her punishment." He added, before standing up and walked away from the grand hall.I strained my neck backwards, my eyes darting around but no one—the elders, guards and servants, the pack members—seemed to believe that I wasn't innocent. The look on their faces only made me feel worse—felt like a traitor.Only Ethan stood by a corner, his eyes darkened with anger and his fingers clenched at his side like he was barely restraining himself from taking charge of the situation. He gave me a quiet nod, assuring that he would keep investigating and would get me out. Of course, I trusted him but I couldn't stop the fear raging inside me. Elara's POV It's been two days. Two days since my father woke up from coma and I haven't seen or heard from him yet.Two days since I had been locked inside this goddamn and suffocating room..Pacing back and forth in my room, I balled my fists in anger and frustration. Ethan had started watching Kael and Lyra, yet he had found nothing substantial. Or had I been wrong all along? No. I could feel it deep in my bones that those two were actually up to something —nothing good. I knew they were plotting something—I could feel it in my bones. But without proof, I was powerless. The waiting was unbearable. Staying in the room all day when I had a whole lot to do was starting to annoy me. My wolf was starting to snap at me in frustration. I'd promise her a long run once I get out of this.... situation.Ethan stood nearby, his brows furrowed in concern and his eyes gazing into mine. In the past few days Ethan had looked at me differently, treated me differently. He had become bolder when tal

Author's POV Kael stood towering over the leader of the assassin, his sharp gaze burning with cruelty. The man was trembling with fear as he slumped on the cold floor of the warehouse, his face battered and bloodied, his breathing shallow.Kael had managed to deceive him to meet up hoping that they could plan another attack but instead, he was met with something entirely different. He had failed the mission and so deserves to pay for it. He was now at the mercy of a man who had none.Lyra had come up with the idea of making him take the fall for the failed mission and everything was going as planned. She was so thrilled when she managed to get a bit of Kael's approval as he complimented her on her smart idea."You have two choices," Kael said, his voice eerily calm. "You do as I say and maybe you might get to live." Then his cold gaze shifted to the man's family—his wife and two children—who had been crying their eyes out in a corner, their bodies trembling. "Resist......and your fami

Author's POV "I can't believe those bastards failed," Kael seethed as he paced the hotel room restlessly. "There were five of them. Yet they couldn't defeat just one man."Lyra lounged on the bed, a glass of wine in her hand, as she glanced up at him. "You said they were the best in the country. How come they failed after all the money we paid?"Kael let out a dark chuckle, turning towards her. "How would I know they were up to no good," he snapped. "Get another money. I need to hire another assassin again."Lyra face twisted with shock. She couldn't believe her ears. After giving him all her life savings that she had been getting from Damian, he still wanted her to get more. "I don't have any money.""What did you say?" He stepped closer, his face twisted with fury. "I don't care. Get the money. Fuck Damian or anyone else. Just get the money. We need to get rid of Damian and seize the throne before that old hag returns."His words pierced Lyra heart. Fuck Damian or anyone else? He do

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 37

Damian's POV I blinked repeatedly to be sure it was Lyra that stood in front of me and not some devil incarnate from the pit of hell. Kill the former Alpha? Elena's father? And even if it was part of my plans, he was once like a father to me in the past—a father-in-law. I shook my head, staring at her to confirm if this was the same fragile and kind woman that we grew up in the Rogue kingdom together, but unfortunately she was the one. She stood staring at me like she had just said the most natural thing in the world.Lyra. The woman I know was kind. While I was taken in by the Rogue king after my parent's death, I shut everyone out of my life. She was the only girl who would come everyday and offer me her toys to play with, her snacks to share with me, even though I would slap them off her hands and snap at her to stay away from me.But she never did. Her kindness and unrelenting effort pulled me out of my darkness. We grew up being there for eachother, our wolves running the cleari

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 36

Author's POV Damian's fingers tightened around the phone, his knuckles almost turning white. He had just set his eyes on something unexpected, something that is enough to change everything completely. Silence fell over the room as he took in the message, the gaze of the Elders fixed on their Alpha expecting him to speak.."Elara...." He whispered, the air in his throat had vanished, his hands trembling slightly.Elara's heart slammed against her ribs. This is over. He must have found Gomez's message. She had been caught red-handed and there was no escape route. But then, his next words caught her off guard."Your father is awake?"Relief flooded her, but she didn't show it as she quickly answered. "Yes. He woke up this morning. Mother sent me a message."Murmurs rippled through the room and the Elders exchanged knowing glances. Their expression shifted from suspicion into relief. Elder Seraphina lips even curled up into a small smile."Thank Moon Goddess," Elder Seraphina said, her vo

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 35

Elara's POVThe other Elders nodded in agreement, murmurs rippling through them.My gaze fell on kael and this time his smirk has completely disappeared, replaced by anger. Elder Seraphina had just put him in his place. What a shock. Then I shifted towards Damian, who had a flicker of doubt in his eyes. Damian was foolish. After everything I had done for me, even if I did try to kill, I hadn't expected him to believe so easily."Its true," Elder Gregory chipped in. "The Luna has been nothing but supportive. We must be careful while dealing with a matter as delicate as this." I heaved in relief, letting myself relax for a bit. Doubts. It was growing in the mind of the Elders. And they didn't know that everything I have been doing was an act I had to put on to save my father, the real Alpha.I stepped closer to Damian, whispering loud enough for only him to hear. "Convenient, isn’t it?" I pressed. "The moment you get attacked, someone suddenly accuses me of plotting your murder?" Becaus

Elara's POV Damian's words rang in my ears like a bad music on a loop, taking away all the happiness I had felt minutes ago from mother's news about father's health. My body stiffened, my heart pounded as I stared at him, confused and shocked."Why did you try to kill me, Elara."The world around me tilted for a moment, but I forced myself to remain calm. I, Elara? Kill him? Where did he get the nonsense from?I turned towards the seated Elders, hoping that Elder Seraphina and Elder Gregor who had watched me since I was a child and capable of what I could do, would stand up and counter Damian's nonsense but they didn't—their eyes was filled with a mix of curiosity and doubt. The silence was suffocating, pressing against my chest.I opened my mouth, and surprisingly my voice was steady. "What did you just say?"Damian's gaze was cold, filled with unrestrained fury. "Don't play dumb, Elara," he spat. "I know everything."Everything? What the hell did he mean? Did he know I wanted to kil

Author's POV Damian's face twisted as he stared at Kael, his heart pounding. Kael sounded so sure—he can't be teasing him. But he was afraid to ask for Kael's evidence. What if it was true? What if the woman he was still holding onto actually wanted him dead?Kael smiled inwardly. Yes. He got him. He had never expected that after everything, Damian would still be holding onto Elara, which was ruining their plan. The plan was simple. Kael's father, the Rogue king raised Damian and pretended to be in full support of him, but what Damian didn't know was that the Rogue king actually wants the throne for his son, Kael. His plan was for Damian to take Lyra as his Luna, then eliminate him and Lyra will pass the throne to her mate, Kael.Lyra and Kael have always been entangled with each other but Damian was too blind to see it.Finally Damian opened his mouth and asked, "What evidence do you have?" Kael dropped the kit carefully, his tone smooth and highly manipulative. "I know you might no
