Lana’s POV

Something explodes in my chest the moment I look into his eyes. A fire erupts inside me, sending electric shocks through my body. His scent was different. He didn’t smell bad like other wolves, in fact it was quite the opposite. It was intoxicating, warm, rich and minty like the mint hot chocolate that Abby makes.

He shifts from his black wolf, standing tall in front of me. Every part of him was defined, muscle after muscle. He even had those v lines by his hips. It was taking every bit of my self control to not look down.

His hand clamped around my neck before I had time to say or do anything. Shoving me up against the wall by his dead mother.

“Why?” he snarls at me

Trying to pull at his fingers, they just squeeze more. So this was it, this was how I was going to die.

Trying to push him off was useless. I had never had this problem, always managing to escape. But Abby and I fucked up. And then I fucked up Royaly by killing his mom.

He stares at me with those bright purple

I knew it this is another dumb book…the way how soft they are towards the murderers, no one is telling her how to reject properly and just how dumb they handle it all in all

Logan’s POV I needed her to accept the rejection. I can’t kill her until she does. Slamming another fist into the wall, I let out a howl. I hated what she had done to me. Hated what she had done to my family. It had been instant, the moment my father passed. I felt it. I felt every connection to every wolf. World wide. The screams, the panic as they realised there was a shift in power, the usual Alphas no longer in control. Slamming a fist against the wall I let out a howl. My father wasn’t even in the ground yet and now every Tom, Dick and Harry was about to be making their way to my pack. “Just kill her already,” Seth moans from the corner of my new office. I knew he had been to see her, I could smell her on him. How close had he gotten? “You know I can’t. We are already mated.” “Well then torture her until she accepts it. Anything is better than watching you sulk.” Something had changed in Seth recently. It was more than just my mate stabbing him. He had become distant, makin

Lana’s POVOpening my eyes, his scent hits me first. I couldn’t tell if he was here or if he had been here recently. Either way, his scent was divine and I wanted more.Taking in a deep breath, I could smell the other wolves too, the ones who kept guard over me. They stank, each and every one as vile as the next, yet through it all was his scent. Logan, my mate, the man who hated me.“Awake?” His voice sends a shiver down my spine. I feel my body tense up, every inch of me clenched as I realise how close he is.“Yes” I mutter quietly, keeping my eyes firmly locked on the stone ceiling. The way he made me feel was confusing and it was easier if I didn't look.“Good, you can answer some questions.”Questions? I was confused, I was certain he was here to kill me.“Okay.” There was nowhere for me to go. Maybe it was better if I did answer him. Maybe he would go easy on me, he was my mate, even if he didn't want to be.“How many have you killed?”“One”“Don’t fucking lie to me. I know of a

Logan’s POVLana had told me everything I needed to know, or rather the rhythm of her heart had. She had been close too tears when I had questioned her, but never broke down. It all went down hill when I asked her about the girl in my office. I already knew they were close, I had seen that in her mind. I just wanted clarification from Lana before I killed Abby.An adoptive sister. A bitch that wasn’t human or wolf, yet Lana didn’t know what she was. Also her comment about our kind didn’t make sense. The stench of wolves, what was all that about?Sam was taking over when I left, I knew his brother was sneaking her food so I just gave him the apple to give to her. I couldn’t have her starve to death, not until she accepted my rejection. I wasn't dying for her.At least I had figured out the truth. Abby was the true werewolf killer, not Lana.I groaned as I sat down in the office, staring at the stack of paperwork my father never finished. Being Alpha was not everything. My father had m

Lana’s POVSam ran off the moment I told him. It was clear where he was going. I shouldn’t have said anything. At least I couldn’t get into more trouble. Maybe Logan would believe me after all.I was surprised when Logan's scent hit me later that day. His deep voice tells the guards to go take a break. Seconds later, he is stood in front of my cell.“Why didn’t you say anything?”I look down at my bare, dirty feet and pull them up under me.“Feeling sorry for me?” I mumble back. I couldn’t help with the sarcasm. His purple eyes flash strangely. I had never seen anything like them. They certainly stood out. He doesn’t say anything, just stares at me. Was he waiting for me to say something else?“You are different.”“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I jump up, becoming defensive over his comment. The corner of his lips twitched, was he amused?“What did you do to him?” I needed to know.“He is dead.”“Oh,” what else could I say, did he want me to thank him?He suddenly takes a k

Logan’s POVThey had killed all those wolves for such a pathetic reason. Something that I would never change, something that I didn’t want to change. There had to be more to it.Lana’s mind had been harder to invade than anyone else's. Like she somehow had a barrier blocking her mind. It was only when she hit deep sleep that it finally broke, allowing me entry. When I got the message that she was struggling, I very nearly didn’t go. But that same small part of me that cared for her, scratched at the back of my mind. Her body was fidgeting even though her eyes were closed tight. Her breath heavy as she muttered words under her breath. She didn’t even stir when I pulled her onto my lap. My hand automatically went to her hair. My fingers ran through her tight curls like they had a mind of their own.“We need to talk.” Uncle Liam breaks my thoughts and I chuck the remaining coffee back my throat.“Look, I’m moving her today okay. She isn’t going to be here. You don’t need to say anything.

  • Hunting the Alpha   Twenty One.

Lana’s POVI had begged, cried, pleaded with him. The answer was always no. I just needed to see if my sister was safe. I just needed to know that they hadn’t hurt her.“Why are you even doing this?” I snap at him“Why won’t you accept my rejection?” He fires back at me.It was the same argument we had been having for days. He kept me a prisoner in his room. Though he was respectful and never tried anything. Unlike nearly every male wolf I had come across.“Just eat if you are not going to answer me,” he rolls his eyes at me and turns his back. “Besides, I already know why. You know that mark is what is keeping you alive. Ironic really when you were ready to die at the hands of my mother.”I stared at the plate on the desk. Different types of sandwiches had been made up and I still hadn’t touched one. It takes me a moment to realise he had been rooting around in my mind again.“That’s why I’m here. You’re starting to feel sorry for me now.”“I don’t feel sorry for anyone.”“Pfft!” I f

  • Hunting the Alpha   Twenty Two.

Logan’s POV Her body trembles under my grip. She doesn’t fight back, she doesn’t even struggle. “Tell me exactly where she is!” “I don’t know” she mumbles, closing her eyes. “Was it all a plan?” I growl. It was rare for someone to outsmart me. Yet Seth had done it and Lana had as well. “I don’t know what you mean. How can it be a plan? I’ve been locked away for weeks.” “Maybe she is here to take out my pack.” “She wouldn’t” “Of course she would. She is a witch Lana. There’s only one witch that I trust and it certainly isn’t your so called sister.” The realisation flashes through her eyes. They fill with water as she finally understands. How could she have not known after all this time? “W…witch?” “You really didn’t know?” I let go of her throat. Her body slides down the wall to the floor. “A witch?” She mutters again, turning her head from side to side. “You’re wrong.” “You think I’m the one that’s wrong? Lana, you said yourself that she isn't a wolf and she isn’t human.”

  • Hunting the Alpha   Twenty Three.

Lana’s POV He hadn’t locked the door. I opened it several times, but every time I went to step out, I found myself slamming it shut again. I just couldn’t bring myself to step outside. Who knows what would be waiting for me? Maybe it was some kind of trap? Instead I watch from the window. The guy from the dungeons appears. I think his name was Sam. They have what looks like a heated conversation. I couldn’t be sure though. Logan stood perfectly still, his hands in his pockets, completely unbothered. Yet Sam was throwing his hands around. I couldn’t make out what they were saying even when I opened the window a little. They both suddenly look up at me. I don’t know why but I ducked. Like I wasn’t supposed to be seen. Slowly standing back up, they were both gone. “That can’t be good.” I mutter. Anxiety gets the best of me and I start pacing, waiting for them to appear. Ten minutes pass and there are still no signs of them. Maybe they were waiting for me, but then surely I would

One year laterLana’s POVI never heard from Blake after that day. It was impossible for him to link me after I broke the bond between us. But it didn’t stop his wolves trying to locate me.For the first six months, it even made the news. That there was a new Alpha of Alpha’s. They gave my name and description, promising a reward if I was returned to them. But as time went on, my appearance on the news became less and less. The humans were losing interest. I was never spotted. I had had my hair permanently relaxed so I didn’t have to deal with the curls. I wore shades when it was sunny or brown contacts when the weather was rubbish. If I went out, I never went out alone. I was always with Dillon. A human. It had taken a couple of months before we officially became a couple. Though that didn’t stop us fooling around before then. Not once did I feel pressured with him. Not once did I feel like he was hiding something. He never hesitated to answer a question. He was different, he wasn’t

I turn to look at him properly. “What do you mean?”“Blake controls what he wants to control.”“I don’t follow.”“You really are naive, Lana. They told me that you were hard to convince. That you didn’t understand pack life. But you really can’t see what is right in front of you.” He pulls open the jeeps door, grabbing my hand, he places it on his chest. Just like Blake, he had no heartbeat.“How?” I mutter“We are all the same. Anyone that is under Blakes leadership ends up like us.”“Why would you follow him?” “Because it’s always too late. By the time we realise, there is no turning back.”“I don’t get it?”“Holy shit, Lana.” He shakes his head at me. “Are you just not willing to see it, is that it?”“See what? Blake said he made a deal.”“And you didn’t think to question it. He is the reason you killed Logan. He is the reason you chose him. He is the reason for everything.”“Why?”“Becau

That I was the one to finally stop him.Xavier had told Blake that I was in the back of the car. Blake had talked me through the plan. He made it clear that I could not speak back to him. That if I were, it would give me away. That Logan would know.He told me that they were tracking me, that I would have to take a chance and throw myself from the car. I did exactly what I was told. The moment my feet hit the ground, I run into the forest. Logan had been steps behind me. If he had lunged forward, he probably would have got me. But Blake somehow pulls me away. Lifting my feet off the ground as he placed a hand over my mouth. He wasn’t alone. I could just make out Xavier and Abby hiding among the trees. Abby's eyes were looking in the direction I had just come from. Her lips moving. As Blake hands me the dagger. I felt the sa

She doesn’t scream, she doesn’t fight me, even when I pin her against the door. She doesn’t even try to link Blake. In fact she does everything that I ask. Pulling her out of the window, I drop us to the ground. Checking that we were entirely alone before heading into the forest.Blakes men were stupid. They were easy enough to get past undetected. It helped that Lana followed me like a sheep. That she did everything I asked.Pushing her into the back seats of my hidden jeep, she still remains quiet. There was no heavy breathing, there weren’t even any tears. She looks back over her shoulder as I drive away from the new pack that Blake had created.“Don’t you dare link him.” I warn her. If she had already done so, there would be no chance that I would get out of the pack grounds alive. Her head moves up and down. Her brown eyes wide as they lo

It was the only answer as to why he was so angry.“I don’t want to see Freya. I want to know what the vision means. I know you saw it too.”“It’s you.” He takes a step back. “It was never Logan. It was always you.”“I don’t know what you mean!” I did though. He had seen it as clearly as I had. The dead bodies piled up underneath me. The blood that was streaked across my face. How he and Logan were both looking up to me.“You know exactly what I mean Lana. Don’t try and play the fool now.”“I’m not… I…” I had no idea what to say and sit myself back down in his office chair. “I would never.”“Wouldn’t you? It’s not like you are sin free is it? You have killed wolves in your bid to find him. Your aim was to stop him.”“I didn’t, that was Abby. I was just… just there. I don’t want to do that. She frowns and then asks if I had seen Lana. She didn't normally speak to me unless Calvin or Lana were around.“Yes, I’m just retrieving some clothes for her.”Her frown deepens until her brows suddenly shoot upwards, a big smile on her face. “Could you just tell Lana that I need to speak to her, like urgently.”“Is there a problem?”“Not exactly. Maybe, I guess. Nothing to do with Logan or anything thats happening.”She spins around and I catch the extra scent on her. She was pregnant.“You want me to tell Lana that you’re pregnant?”She turns back to me. Her eyes wide. “How did you know?”“I’m not stupid, your scent has altered to accommodate the hormones.”“I know you don’t like me Alpha Blake, this wasn’t supposed to happen. A smile spread across her face. “Lana, he screwed up.”“What do you mean, witch?” Blake spits on the ground. Clenching his teeth together.“That mark. He was supposed to confirm it. Kendra put it on you when she saw his mark. She used his blood to form a bond between you. Replicating his mark.”“Kendra? Other than feeling like my head was going to explode.Blake was growing more and more pissed off when no one could come up with a plan. What Blake wanted to do was use me. I had agreed to it. But so many of the pack hated the idea. They thought that I would turn on them, or that Logan would use me to get exactly what he wanted. It didn’t help that Logan continued to call to me. He seemed to think that he could talk to me whenever he wanted. It was impossible for me to block him. He would never ask me how I was. It was always questioning me about Blakes plans. When I didn’t answer, he would grow mad and cut me off. And for a moment, I would find relief. He was choosing the Blood Pack over me.I had stopped trying to fight it or trying to hide it. But there wasn’t even a single piece of evidence that suggested he had returned home or that he had come anywhere near my pack.Lana wasn’t herself either. She would wander the house. Often deep in thought. I tried to talk to her but it was like talking to a brick wall. Anything that I said just didn’t sink in. Sometimes I would find her in a corner, muttering to Freya. They would stop talking the moment they saw me.I didn’t like the witch being here, but I had very little choice in the matter. Calvin had already marked the witch. If I threw her out, then I would have problems with my brother and Lana. It was a shitty scenario that I was trying my hardest to ignore. Aiming to focus on the bigger problem of Logan.More and more of my pack from Europe turned up everyday. New homes were constantly being built on the land. It was expanding quickly, but
