“Hello Mane,” Matriarch Ruth gently smiled at Mane when he approached her. Her warm smile was a bit strange, for it reminded him of another. Her smile was so similar to his. Her smile was almost the same as Dan’s.

“Hello Matriarch Ruth,” Mane pushed away the thoughts running through his head and gave a small bow to Matriarch Ruth. He may be capable of handling her now, but that was only by tapping into the Void. Besides, she had saved him so many times that Mane would never be able to show her any disrespect.

“There is no need for such formality,” Matriarch Ruth smiled faintly and said. She could smell a great stench of blood and chaos around the boy. He reeked of the blood of many, and the scent he carried contained the emotions of many desperate races. Strangely enough however, his heart was still pure. There was a line the boy wasn’t going to cross and a path he was never willing to take. And that intrigued her.
