“Indeed. Mistress Yue Lao isn’t one to be taken lightly,” Celestial Emperor Atlas nodded his head in agreement. Not only did he know the legends surrounding Yue Lao, he was of such a high status that he could verify their authenticity. And they were all true. There was no falsehood in those legends.
“She will help you channel the kindness in your heart into Edict,” Atlas smiled and rubbed Sharon’s head lovingly. Yue Lao wasn’t a mere Ascender. She was a goddess! A goddess who embodied love and peace. Yet if provoked, she was able to transfer the positive feelings in her heart into actual energy – energy which she used to combat any forces that stood against her.
And that was why Sharon had been chosen to study under Yue Lao. When the goddess met Sharon, she was drawn by the girl’s innocent and childish demeanor. Whereas others like Atlas saw an overgrown child, Yue Lao saw someone who could carry her mantle –
“There are at least several hundreds of them in the bag!” Sharon’s eyes lit up like bright stars within the vast cosmos as she screened the contents of the bag. The bag was a large one, and the energy crystals were tiny existences. Just a handful of crystals amounted to about 15 or so in total. Which meant that there were at least a thousand Energy Crystals in the bag!“Indeed. There are actually 2500 crystals in total within that bag.” Shanxi pointed at the large bag and gave a more accurate estimate of the bag’s contents. Sharon’s mouth opened wide in an exaggerated manner as the crystals she held in her hands slipped onto the ground.Sarong’s body flashed like a dark comet as he disappeared from his initial position and reappeared right next to Sharon. His arms moved like the dark hands of fate as they grabbed the energy crystals Sharon had so carelessly let go of before they could hit the ground.“Good ca
“How was it? Seeing your siblings again after all this while?” Alas asked Shanxi. Both Sarong and Sharon were nowhere to be found. All that remained were the traces of their battle against their brother Shanxi. For the formerly orderly hall was now disorderly. The thick special walls that couldn’t be dented even by the hand of an Earth Realmer now sported several sabre scars that were half a finger deep. On the ground of the specially made floor were axe marks as well. The entire room was filled with the results of a ‘friendly’ duel. And the furniture that adorned the place were now destroyed, completely turned to dust. And since there was no furniture to sit on, both Atlas and Shanxi were seated on the ground. Yet even such positions didn’t diminish the elegance or charm that they carried.“You know I love seeing them. It was great as always.” Shanxi had a leisurely smile on his face as he spoke of his siblings. His skin
“He did. And I understood the death he spoke of. He struck me and I died. But I was reborn in the body of another. As for the rest of the story, you know it.”Shanxi nodded his head in reply. That was because he truly did know the rest of the story. “So that’s how you got Perpetual Rebirth,” Shanxi sighed in exhaustion. He had learned a lot in the space of a few breaths. He knew, just like Anna and Peter that their father had a unique skill. This was the skill called Perpetual Rebirth. This skill allowed the user to be reborn in the body of another, no matter how madly mutilated they were before they died. The downside was that you couldn’t personally select what body you would inherit. So you could end up as an old man, or as a newborn. It was even possible to find yourself back in the womb! Luckily it was quite picky too. Perpetual rebirth only picked targets with great strength and impressive talent. So even if you ended up in the
The True Universe was one huge place. Although it was populated by many, there were still places left unexplored. 7 Heavens and countless galaxies meant that the True Universe was much grander than any other. And this also meant that it was impossible to learn everything about it. Even if the Dark Realm was excluded, there were several other realms that remained unexplored. And each day an eager spirit full of life and exuberance set out on a quest to discover the unknown. At times the quests were completely voluntary, with the explorers fully keen of finding out the unknown. There were also those who embarked on such quests through no fault of theirs. If they had their way, they wouldn’t want to leave their places of comfort. But one couldn’t always have their way now, could they? There were many races that populated the Universe. And each race was unique in its own way. Even for races that shared very similar looks and characteristics, they had their own differe
“Dracula pays his respect to the Allfather, Odin – King of Asgard,” Dracula bowed slightly in relief when he confirmed the one inside the light pillar was indeed Odin. The man was wearing a long, black robe that concealed everything – from his golden armor to his brilliant yellow hair – but his golden eye and the ravens upon his shoulders. The staff within Odin’s hand contained so much power that Dracula shook from being in such close proximity with it, an action that didn’t go unnoticed by the Allfather.“You are extraordinary indeed. To be able to smell Gungnir’s might even when its power is hidden is an extraordinary feat.” Odin praised, his voice more soothing than it was commanding.“You flatter me beyond my abilities, O Wise One,” Dracula maintained his humble stance, whilst using the opportunity to redirect Odin’s praise back to him.“I know what I speak. I sense great pow
In the True Universe, many rallied behind their new King. Many picked up their arms, ready to stand behind the one whose destiny had been written in the stars long before his birth. Some had already passed through the dimensional gate. Yet the Dreamscape’s weird time laws meant that they may not necessarily arrive at the time they were supposed to. They may arrive several years into the future, a few minutes into the present, or even in the past. Yet that mattered little to the person in question – Mane – for right now he had his hands full.Mane was stooped over his study table, overlooking the designs he received just a day ago. He was clad in nothing but a pair of sleeping shorts, leaving his trunks and legs bare. In his hand was a large towel, and his hair was wet, indicating that he had just come out of the shower. Though his hair wasn’t completely dry, and though it fell carelessly upon his forehead and covered up his eyes, the water of his hair
“I see you look well. Are you ready?” Ancestor Origin was the first person Mane bumped into once he was outside his room. The blind old geezer claimed that he was only taking a stroll, but which person took a troll so close to another’s room? Besides, Mane had watched the man, just like the other ancestors, leave last night after their discussions were over. Logically speaking, the only person who should have been here was the owner of the house – Ancestor Specter. But Ancestor Pier was nowhere to be found. It was highly likely that Ancestor Origin told him to make himself scarce. From the little of the old man’s personality that Mane had seen, this wasn’t beneath him.“I am,” since Ancestor Origin’s first statement was straight to the point, Mane didn’t see the need to reply with any pleasantries either.“And the others?” Mane asked. It was imperative that the other Ancestors were with him when he
“Your task here is done,” Ancestor Origin approached the house several meters away from the dome and spoke. His eyes were glued to the building, like a hawk watching a small rat. Yet this was no rat, for within Ancestor Origin’s eyes was a light of cautiousness that a predator wouldn’t have towards a weak prey.“I didn’t come here because of you,” a calm voice came from within the building, and a tall, dark man with handsome features walked out. Held between his lips was thin stick of wood. He wore a long, black robe that hid his entire frame and any weapons with it. And as he walked towards Ancestor Origin, he didn’t display any anxiety or nervousness that should have been born from being in the stronghold of a rival race. This man was an Ancient, and he was someone close to Mane. He was Dan!“I am giving you the chance to leave. Do not bring ruin upon yourself by staying longer than you should.” Ancestor Ori
