I get home and have to press the doorbell as I’m reminded that I don't have the keys. Valentina opens the door. She talks so fast I hardly understand anything due to her accent.

“Why didn't you call? We were worried, but not so much because you are on the news around the world,” she says, speaking a thousand words per minute.

“Yeah, I noticed. I saw it on some websites.” I shrug as though it isn’t much of a big deal. I try to be as natural as possible, but I have not gotten used to reading about myself on websites. I have chosen not to give it too much thought and look at the positive aspect of it.

I notice my new bracelet from the corner of my eye and my head is in the clouds.

“Tell me everything, and we mean everything, don’t you dare leave out any details!” she threatens as Joanna and Katrina come running to join this juicy conversation.

“We're dating. Like officially,” I say, jumping up and showing off the bracelet. They all start screaming.

The fact that we're together hasn't come out yet and if it does, I want it to start on the right note.“I love you,” I blurt out. Shit, it couldn't have been over the phone.“Are you aware of how happy I am hearing those three little words finally come from that delectable mouth? I love you too, my beautiful,” he replies. I wake up to the light in the room. I am sweating from the summer heat but nothing can beat the sight of Hunter all curled up against me. I look at the bedside table and read that it is 7 a.m. It's Tuesday, and I hate Tuesday, because it's way before Friday.I get up to get ready to go to university, before remembering they are in mourning. After doing my morning hygiene, I decide to wake Hunter up. I kiss his cheek, and he smiles lazily, opening one eye at a time.“Good morning lazy bum. I don't want to scare you, but it's already 7:05. Don’t you have to attend your morning training session?” I ask him, offering several kisses to wake him up.He jumps up upon hearing ‘training’, frantically saying, “Oh shit! We need to go soon. I need to get to the training camp by 8 a.m., and I still need to drop you off at the university. Sorry, but there will not be time for us to have breakfast.”“Hunter, calm down. I don't have class today, remember?” I say, laughing at him.“Okay, then let me d

The following day just seems to drag. Class. Lunch. Class. I can’t pay attention in Mr. Rivers' class, and every hour I sneak away to the bathroom to check the game score. Not that I’m truly interested in the game. I am interested in seeing him on the field. It is about two in the afternoon when the game ends and he has several interviews. While walking on campus, people come to comment about how well he plays. Of course... everyone knows we are together. On the one hand, I want to go back to America to flee this madness and hope it passes soon. Hunter is silent as this goes on. I am getting really apprehensive and I hope he isn’t misunderstanding me at any point.“Yes, I am. To be more specific, at night,” I say, a little shaken. Reality seems to be catching up.“I think we should go together to New York for the festival. You're going to Panama and Vic and me to New York. One year later...You've been married for just over a year, and your children will complete one year. How has your life changed from then?I fiddle with my fingers that are resting on my now finely crossed legs.“I discovered myself as a woman,” I answer, facing Alice as she interviews me. “I found that I can really take care of someone, since I didn't even know how to take care of myself. And now I take care of four!”“How is the atmosphere in your house with your children?”I smile. “My house is the biggest mess ever. It's a minefield of toys everywhere. Every time I get home, my kids start waving their arms frantically and laughing nonstop to see me.”“And your husband, Hunter Blanco, is at home with his children?”I look at the camera nervously photographing me and then back at Alice.“He is an amazing father, and whenever he can, he is with his children and family.” I end it there and Alice tilts her head and looks at me.“Selena!” she scolds me. “This is a personal interview, so

It’s been five days since we've seen each other, way too long!“The pediatrician said that Valeria should start taking half a dose of the medication,” I inform and he sighs. “The boys are missing iron. Life is sometimes so unfair but objectively correct. There are no pains that cannot be healed, no bonds that cannot be joined, people that do not come back—the concept of life and death. Widely known as the eminent pain after a person, who is deliberately said to set out on a better journey. Maybe not. Since no one has yet discovered what occurs after death, there are only scientific and religious theories to go by.I can say that experiencing death is neither painful nor sad. I don't feel like running out of the light and back to life. Peace. Perhaps the peace that everyone seeks is not in life itself. Never, ever, no matter how hard you try, you will never have any rest. As much as something is resolved well, another factor comes and shakes everything again. That may be the meaning of life. It’s not just you opening your eyes and feeling that your heart is still beating. It's a vicious cycle, where love and disagreement will always be present as a challenge, a challenge you face eve
