“She'll be fine.”

I flinch, Alice just now appearing from behind me with her hands in her hair. I put the cellphone back in my pocket. Alice's grandmother needed to be put in a coma-induced state due to the amount of medication she had to take, so for now she will be in the hospital.

“You know, I know what it is to feel pain for a grandmother who is in a hospital bed,” I empathize

It is the first time I have talked to anyone about my grandmother. Unless I had before I lost my memory. Either way, it is good to let off steam with someone who understands the pain you went through.

Even though my grandmother was not a role model, nor had she ever baked a special pie or tell stories about deceased relatives, I loved my grandmother for simply being my grandmother and I am eternally grateful that God allowed me ten years of my life with her.
