Chapter 4

Luca pov

I watch Anna shift in her sleep as a nightmare plagues her.

"I didn't do it, she whimpers as tears leak from her closed eyes, I swear I never did that....please don't take my baby",I flinch as she starts to thrash and wakes screaming hands going to her flat belly.

"Anna, I try to touch her but she scoots away, baby let us help you",she wipes at her cheeks trying to stop crying.

"You can't help me, she cries, you can't help me at all because your the reason I have these nightmares. You took my pup and broke my heart in one go",she starts crying loud and I growl as I move closer.

"Anna,Lorenzo says behind me, please my love let us help you",he puts the siderail down and gathered her close. Anna fought it but she was weak from the drugs and exhaustion so she let him hold her. Her sobs tore at my heart as we listen to her.

Fuck my wolf growls your a dick Luca. I know I said back to him sadly I more than know that.

After what seemed like hours Anna fell back asleep but she cried herself to it. Lorenzo sat holding her as tears fell from his eyes.

Can we fix her? Can we fix us? Will our mate relationship survive everything we did?

I fist my hair as I stare at the floor trying to come up with anything to ease her heartbreak. News comes they got Bethany in a cell but also she has a mate and he is with her. It seems the bitch changed but I don't care she ruined us. Sebastian set up a punishment but I'm absolutely livid over it. Fifty lashes to her back with a whip. Time passes and her punishment day is apon us and I want to kill her not whip her.

"We are gathered here to carry out the punishment on Bethany Andrews for crimes against pack member Anna Stone. Fifty lashes total. Twenty by Luca and Lorenzo Morretti the rest by me alpha Sebastian Howl", Sebastian says as Marie cringes when the whips are laid out and she looks up at Ben sadly. She looks terrified by this.

"Luca you can go first",I hear Lorenzo mutter and I grab a whip and go up to Bethany who stiffens at first but tries to relax. I hit the first lashing so hard her back splits open and she screams loudly as I do my ten. Lorenzo moves to stop me and do his ten. Bethany just lays there trembling and bleeding while Marie and Ava cry.

"Thirty more, Sebastian grabs a whip and hits her counting his thirty before dropping the whip to the ground, punishment complete ",as he moves I grab the whip and hit her ten more times before I'm tackled to the ground. Bethany's back is bleeding so profusely it soaks the ground. She is unconscious as Sebastian growls viciously and grabs me by the throat lifting me up pure disgust and anger on his face.

"She deserves death!, I roar, that bitch deserves death!!",Tanner gently unties her and carries her off but as he passes me he growls.

"You got ten extra lashes to my mate and you won't get any fucking more come near her ever again I will kill you Morretti ",he stalks off blood trailing behind him.

"Put him in a cell, Sebastian orders a warrior, once you calm the fuck down you will be punished for not following your alphas orders",I am dragged off and Lorenzo looks torn.

"Sorry alpha ",Lorenzo bows his head in anguish over my actions.

"I set up punishment rules for a fucking reason, Sebastian growls loud, to disobey an alpha is a crime. I want everyone to hear me now. Bethany was punished for her crimes no one and I mean no one will touch her again. Dismissed!!!",he yelled so loud Ava and Marie whimpered in fear.

Lorenzo pov

"Ben, I hear Marie crying, can we go home now?",she looks ready to puke it was awful to hear and see but Bethany needed her punishment to show just because you are a female doesn't mean you get off. I sigh as I head to Anna who is still in the hospital. When I walk in the hospital Tanner is pacing.

"Sebastian has been calling you",I hear Ben say to Tanner as I walk up heading to Anna's room.

"My phone died, he looks distracted and upset, I didn't want to leave until they stabilize her",I freeze.

"What?",he sighs in anger.

"One of the whips or all of them was soaked in Wolfsbayne and Bethany isn't healing. Her fucking back keeps bleeding and she is so weak from her attempt and now sixty lashes added to it. So I'm sorry I didn't think I needed to leave my mate to charge my cell. Seems her punishment was a way to kill her without getting questions from me. Hell she already tried to kill herself or did you all forget. Fuck she was weak from that but this shit is unforgivable",he looked so disgusted and I felt dread. Luca what have you've done.

"Sebastian someone dipped one or all of the whips in Wolfsbayne and Bethany isn't healing right",Ben mind links in the pack shared mind link and we all hear it.

"On my way brother ",he links back and cuts the link. I watch Tanner pace and look distressed. Sebastian rushes up and I am still standing there. Tanner notices me and growls.

"No, Tanner growls, he doesn't need to be here. Luca and him probably want her dead anyway",I sigh as I watch Tanner pace.

"Tanner...",Sebastian starts but Tanner ignores him.

"I trusted you and look where we are my mate won't stabilize because someone soaked the whip or all of them in that shit. Luca enjoyed it and as far as I could tell you all did too. She dies it is on all of you",he keeps pacing. Doc comes out and we all stop.

"I had to put her on a ventilator alpha she isn't doing well. The whips all had Wolfsbayne on them and her back won't close right. We filtered out the poison but she is already weakened from her suicide attempt",Doc was against the punishment and he voiced it but it had to be done.

"So she is most likely going to die?",Tanner asked looking devastated.

"I can't say Tanner but the next two days we will continue to support her. You can go sit with her and talk to her it may help",He sighs sadly.

"This is on you and your brother ,he looks at me with hate, you both may get your fucking wish and I will lose my other half. Congratulations ",he snarls and storms off ignoring Sebastian as he goes.

"Let him go, Ben says when I go to follow, stay away Lorenzo you and Luca are the last wolves he and Bethany need to see. She was punished and it seems someone tried to kill her. Fuck they may succeed if she doesn't heal soon",I growl.

"I will post a guard at her room",Sebastian says as we stand there.

"He won't allow that, Ben says, Tanner doesn't trust us now",I could see it in his eyes as he growled at us. He thinks we purposely dipped the whips to end her. Bethany may die anyway. Eric runs up and follows Tanner's scent to his alpha dread was all over his face as he runs pass us.

"Find out who touched the whips. Pull all camera feeds",Sebastian orders a warrior.

"Who could get access to our whips that easy?", Ben mutters as some warriors run off to do as Sebastian asked.

Bethany may die and goddess only knows what that would do to Tanner.

This day has gone to shit so fast. We wanted revenge but we may be responsible for her death.

Fuck I growl as I pace Luca you fucking idiot I fume in our link. He went fucking crazy on her at the worst possible time.

I feel somewhat bad because I know if she dies Tanner will follow her in death or he may go after us.

Who fucking dipped the whips in that poison?

Fuck this shit isn't good I think as I head back to Anna.
