Hector's POV

While her grandmother changed the baby's diaper, I forced Barbara to eat some. I told them to bring real food. After she saw that the girl was fine, I thought she wouldn't stop eating.

As he watched her, happy and chatty, he tried not to remember what had happened hours before. I feel like I aged a year that night. I was exhausted physically and psychologically.

When I realized that she was finally satisfied, and honestly I've never seen anyone eat so much in such a short amount of time, I walked over to my dad, who seemed to want to talk to Mandy longer.

I sat on the sofa, which was not comfortable at all, and asked him:

- Babies never wake up? And when they wake up they only cry?

- No - he smiled - But I'll let you see how it works up close.

- No, I don't want to see that.

- I think it's too late now. Didn't you invite her to go with you? The child goes along. She won't leave you for nothing.

- I know.

- What made you go back? I didn't even think I was going to let her go like that.
