Chapter Seventy

Trina woke up ten days after the ‘incident’, she was in a lot of physical pain and it was another week before she was mobile enough to be discharged and that was when she had to make her decision. Gino came in and sat on her bed holding her hand his eyes gentle and full of concern,

‘He hasn’t had the guts to face me, Gino.’

She said softly and he could only sigh and nod,

‘I know Princess, he is fighting his demons, he knows what he did was wrong.’

It was killing him to see her tear-filled eyes and pale face,

‘Gino, don’t make excuses for him, he almost killed me, he did not stop when I safeworded, he kept going, I thought, I mean, I thought he was going to kill me and he said some dreadful things.’

She stopped and grabbed a tissue wiping away the tears that trickled down her cheeks,

‘I can’t do this any more Gino, he does not love me, you don’t do what he did to me if you love them. I have to leave and put an end to this.’
