“B-Battle? What battle?”

Ferran stared at Sanchez, feeling uneasy before he reacted a bit exaggerated just to take Sanchez’s attention away from that thought.

“You’re awake! I thought you would never wake up. Wait for a moment, I will call the doctor to check your condition.” Ferran immediately stood up and left Sanchez to call the doctor.

Sanchez is in good condition based on what the doctor said. He just had to stay for another day in the hospital for a blood transfusion. After that, he can go home and rest to quickly recover.

“I’m sorry. I still insisted on what I wanted even though you stopped me.” Ferran sincerely apologized, feeling guilty of his stubbornness.

“Don’t be sorry. I’m already glad that neither of us died.” Sanchez said and then asked something. “When I woke up, I heard you say some things? What is the battle you are referring to?”

Ferran almost face-palmed when Sanchez asked about it. He thought Sanchez forgot what he said earlier but he didn’t.

Uncle!” Blair shouted as she entered the room without permission. “Did you heard about the rape victim in the seashore?” She seems out of breath.“I just got from there.”“Oh. That’s so horrible. Did you have any leads on who might be the culprit?”“Blair,” He looked at his niece while buttoning his polo shirt. “Don’t involve yourself. It’s too early for you to be in this kind of mess.”“But I want to learn. You know that I easily get curious.” She looked around and saw something in her uncle’s room.“But—hey.” Ferran noticed that Blair was looking at his plans for the upcoming apocalypse in the future.“What are these, uncle? Are you… Are you working on something big?” She asked while holding the photos and reading the notes on the board. “2022? Apocalypse… What?”“I need to go. You might as well leave and go home.” He slightly pushed Blair outside his room.“Uncle, you’re a workaholic but not to

Gentle waves of the sea, cold wind that blew through his face, and the smell of the sea salt. Ferran awoke from a deep sleep and looked around the area. He was sitting in his pickup car’s driver seat, located at the end of the pier and facing the calm sea. He remembered what had happened to him inside the bar.“A dream?” He asked himself. “But what am I doing here?”He got out of his car and he felt the pain all over his body then he realized that it’s not a dream! He faced the side mirror of his car and saw his swollen wounds which he gained by beating the man with a tribal tattoo. The big question is, how did he get to that place? He does not remember that he drove there and he also doesn’t have an idea that he needed anything in that place. After a moment of thinking, the surroundings are getting brighter ‘coz the sun was starting to rise. He was gripping the steering wheel of Sanchez’s car which he borrowed because his pickup needs a repair. Compared to his car, Sanchez’s car is brand new, and he remembered Sanchez’s words before he allowed him to use his new car. It’s kind of funny though.***“If you’re not my friend, I will not really lend my car to you.” Sanchez was hesitant to lend his car to Ferran because he knew that his partner is sometimes a reckless driver. At the end, he handed him the car key, as if he had no choice.“If my car isn’t damaged, I will not borrow your car.”“Why don’t you buy a new one?”“Maybe next time.”“Tss. You have almost nothing to spend on your salary.”Ferran didn’t say anything else. Even he doesn’t know why the real Ferran didn’t replace his car with a new one. He guessed that maybe because there’s a memory in th
