As Selene sat in the van with her manager and Chloe, the newest released track from Nathan the songbird was playing in the background, and Chloe couldn’t hide her blush from anyone, no matter how hard she tried.

“You seem to be loving his songs more and more, Chloe,” Selene teased her friend when she noticed how she kept zoning off into the song. She looked so infatuated that one would have thought she wrote the song.

“I was there when this song was recorded. So, of course, I should be happy about it. What are you trying to say?” Choe fired agitatedly.

“Fine. I accept that you just love the song because you can hear Lulu’s voice in it. It’s not because of the main artist. I hear you.” Her sharp retort was rather more suggestive than Chloe expected, hence, she could only look out the window and forcefully trail her gaze on the scenery. It was better not to respond to Selene.

Even though she was in the car, the deep blush that creeped onto her face was enough to tell Selene that h

    “What the heck! Daddy?” Selene couldn’t believe the sight before her. When she was leaving home earlier, Declan told her he also had an early engagement that morning. He even went ahead to say that they would see each other during the day. He sounded so mischievous that she felt something was off about him but chose to remain silent about it, telling herself that she was just overthinking things. “CEO of Phoenix Age Entertainment? My boss? How is this possible? I didn’t even” She was so shocked that she quickly lost track of her location. Nothing could have prepared her for this surprise, as she felt that her husband was just connected to the entertainment industry because of his businesses. Selene kept mumbling to herself for a brief moment while the panelists were trying to suck up to her husband. To say she was shocked would have been an understatement. Simply put, she was flabbergasted. “Ms. Bella... Bella Grey...” The director called out for the umpteenth time, finally

    “That was awesome!” Declan’s friend shouted after a long pause from everyone. Even Declan was awed into silence by his wife’s performance. While on stage, Selene quickly transformed into a rowdy teenager who would do anything to have her way. She was so convincing that they all felt drawn into her world, unable to exit, even though she transformed smoothly back to reality. Selene called out to them gently before they realized they were silent for too long. The claps soon followed, and the director couldn’t even see anything to hold against her. Selene already bagged the role of the female lead, and nothing anyone said could change that. “Well done, Bella. But... Something baffles me, though. Did you have access to the script before now?” She wanted to put forward that she only performed so well because Declan allowed her access to the whole script beforehand. “Yes, I did.” Selene responded in a crisp voice, shocking all of them, including her husband. He never spoke abo

    ~~~ Gory scene ahead ~~~ “Algún último deseo? (Any last wishes?)” Rafaela was seated in her specially designed chair in the meeting ground of the Diaz Cartel. She was so aloof that the people sprawled on the floor before her wished for nothing more than to tear that expressionless face to shreds. As soon as she returned from Bloomsbay, she set a lot of traps to capture the traitors in the act. Betrayal was greatly frowned upon by the members of the Diaz Cartel. They forged their bond through a lot of battles and bloodshed, but they still emerged strong. They never got themselves involved in the shady deals of the other cartels. Rafaela ensured that no one in the cartel ever got involved in any deals apart from the drugs and ammunition that they sold for ages. No human trafficking or illegal organ harvesting was allowed. She even took steps to end the drug-trafficking wing of the cartel. However, since her sickness kicked in, she never had the time to think about any such activiti
    [Pa!] [Pa!!] [Pa!!!] Several bullets were fired into various scattered positions in the building, and the occupants were terrified. Man after man fell. Startling the other guards on duty. Some were even speaking about random things, but before they realized it, one or both of them were already on the floor. Blood spilled everywhere, and bodies were equally scattered in all directions. However, the intruders were just getting started. They came for someone’s head, and they wouldn’t leave until they had it. Some buildings in the compound were already set on fire, and the occupants could be seen running helter-skelter. Nothing was done to indicate that the people came to capture anyone, and it was clear from their actions that they came for a certain person’s head. Amid the sudden attack, a woman who looked to be in her early fifties lay naked on her luxurious bed. A man of about twenty-five years, young enough to be her son, was crazily plummeting into her core. He was so de
    [Knock!][Knock!!][Knock!!!] “Coming…” Lulu shouted from the kitchen when she heard a knock on the door. She only returned briefly from the tour and had three days before she hit the road with the songbird once more. They were not supposed to return until the following month, but certain situations beyond their control compelled them to return briefly and change their course of action. She rushed toward the door, spatula in hand, as she wondered whether her mother was expecting anyone so early in the morning. “Hello, who…” Lulu paused in shock, the rest of her words unable to come out of her lips. She was shocked to see him, and she couldn’t stop herself from wondering if he was stalking her or something. She returned late in the night the previous day and was certain that no one saw her, so how could he be here? “Boss Vicker,” She greeted him awkwardly, her hands still tightly held onto the door as she stood in the doorway, not opening it wide enough for him to step in. “Can
    “Who are you?” Phyna screamed when she opened her door and realized that someone else was in the house, even before she got home. What’s more, she wasn’t expecting anyone. Instead of turning around and screaming for help or even calling the police, she reckoned that there was no need to attract undue attention to herself. She didn’t even believe anyone could hurt her anyway. She took a few steps into the room, intending to strain her neck just a little bit and take a look inside. After all, it could even be someone who was playing a prank on her. She experienced a lot of pranks throughout her career. If there was any sign of danger, she could always run. However, the uninvited guest suddenly grabbed her in a chokehold and remained in the same position till she began to lose her breath. “If you dare hurt me, you won’t get away with it. You…” She mumbled with the best voice she could muster, but before she could continue dishing out empty threats, he released her and roughly shoved
    “Hello,” Selene said calmly before sitting across from Celeste. “Hello, Selene. Good to see you.” Celeste sat with both hands on the table, admiring the woman her daughter had grown to become. As she scrutinized her, she suddenly noticed that there was no ring on her finger, but a diamond necklace hung loosely on her neck. Celeste's smile was so bright that Selene felt uncomfortable under her gaze. She knew what her mother was looking at but didn’t know any conversation she could start about her ring. “Nice ring you have there,” Celeste remarked in admiration. She was happy that her daughter’s husband put a lot of thought into picking her ring. “Thank you.” Selene finally had a smile on her face when she responded. Selene unconsciously looked behind Celeste, only to find Tara walking toward them. She was so elated that Selene felt there was something different about her; Tara never liked Celeste and didn’t attempt to hide it. So, for her to walk towards them with such enthusiasm
    “Boss Vicker, thank you for everything you’ve done for my family. Words cannot describe how grateful I am right now. You…” Lulu earlier agreed to have dinner with Boss Vicker in one of the fancy restaurants in town. However, as soon as she arrived, all she did was thank him again and again for everything he did for her family. He realized he wouldn’t get a proper talk with her if he didn't stop her in time. “You look so beautiful, Lulu. Seeing you go on and on about your family just makes me love you more and more. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'll be a complete man if you agree to marry me, Lulu. I know you’ve not had it easy for a long time, but I wouldn’t bother to continue caring for you and your family. " "You have already done enough, boss. I don't even have anything to offer you." Lulu reasoned in a low voice. "I already have everything I need. I also know you will afford the life you deserve soon enough because you are Mask Girl. But I want to be
    “You’re awake,” Miranda spoke in a low and detached voice, making Leonardo aware that she regretted their encounter as much as he did. He looked the young lady up and down, taking in the hickeys and other marks he left all over her body.Watching her stand at the entrance of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around her body, he wondered why she seemed so nonchalant about what happened between them when he felt she was as regretful as he was. Droplets of water trailed from her hair onto her body as her chest rose up and down. When he took in the sight of water droplets settling on her collarbone, before getting lost in the towel around her chest, he gulped uneasily, sensing that his little member was getting giddy at the mere sight of Miranda in a towel.Leonardo’s mind suddenly had a fleeting thought. “Vilma never had such an effect on me.” However, as soon as the thought crossed his mind, he chastised himself for comparing Miranda to the gold digger. He didn’t notice that he
    “Aaaaahhhh!!!” A slim and tall middle-aged man lay sprawled and naked on the ground in Bloomsbay Central prison. It was his cell room, but a few male prisoners who seemed to be with their boss surrounded him. Two men stood to his left side, as three others stood to his right. “Why do you keep screaming like a sissy, huh?” The leader roughly hit his ass with his right foot, exchanging a discreet glance with one of the three men, who began to undress himself.“Well, you just served two of us, and there are three more to go. So, suck it up and do your duties. I don’t want to gag you. Your groans are such a turn-on.” The man licked his lips and signaled the naked man to proceed, and the man began to scream once more. One would have thought that the guards outside the cell room would intervene in the illegal activity that was currently going on. However, they rather served as their lookouts, watching to ensure that the road was clear, and no superiors witnessed whatever was going on.Th
    “How are you feeling?” Lulu asked as soon as Gilbert stepped out with a bandage wrapped around his right shoulder. The look of concern on her face shocked the young man so much that his guilt knew no bounds. “I’m fine. No need to worry about me,” Gilbert responded wryly, wincing from the sharp pain that just assaulted his body. What happened a few hours ago suddenly threw Lulu’s mind back, causing her gaze on him to be unreadable. She thought she was going to die, but Gilbert jumped and took the bullet for her. It still felt so surreal, as Mercedes aimed for her heart, and Lulu thought it was the end. Right now, Lulu saw Gilbert as her saviour, and nothing he said could deter her. Boss Vicker jumped in front of her when they were involved in an accident a few days ago. The heaviness in her heart at the thought of her husband lying in a coma because of her was unbearable. Dr. Leonardo mentioned that if Vicker Greenwood didn’t wake up before the day ended, it would only mean
    In the forecourt of the Diaz Cartel mansion, numerous members trooped to the place, bidding farewell and giving their last respects to the figure who used to stand tall and lead them in all missions; dangerous and regular alike.Rafaela Diaz was a woman like no other, and it irked the young and old members of the cartel that a sickness like cancer was what it took to bring her down this way. She survived where many failed, but she still couldn’t conquer cancer. A young man stood before her picture, wept his heart out, as the others stood strongly behind him like a pine. Rafaela was the only mother figure he knew, but she was also gone.“Sé que era un niño muy testarudo, pero aun así me trataste como a tu hijo. Este mundo será difícil sin ti, pero sé que aún me cuidarás desde el más allá. Que te vaya bien, mamá. (I know I was a very stubborn child, but you still treated me like your son.     “What happened?” Declan asked the nurse as soon as he arrived at his mother’s ward. He feared what he might meet there, so he chose to first ask the nurse before going in. “The patient suffered an adverse reaction after her chemotherapy session in the morning. She’s stable now, so you can see her. Please go in. Dr. Leonardo would explain further.”The nurse directed Declan to his mother’s ward and watched him step away with heavy footsteps. Declan was worried about how long his mother would hold on till the baby was born.Dr. Leonardo gave them big news on the day they discovered that the babies in Selene’s womb could help cure Rafaela’s leukaemia, as he confirmed them to be a match. As a result, they have been hoping and praying that Rafaela should be around long enough for the child to be born. That way, they would have two bundles of joy, and still be able to save his mother also. Declan stood outside his mother’s ward, as he watched Dr. Leonardo busied himself with his mother. S
    “Good morning, lady and gentlemen,” The company lawyer greeted, as soon as everyone was seated. According to the decree of the CEO, I welcome the interim CEO, Ms. Lucinda Greenwood.”Lucinda walked in under the scrutinizing gazes of all the shareholders. She had so much grace and poise that no one could doubt her. However, it was still their money in question, and they still had to be careful about who they endorsed. “Greetings.” Lucinda spoke up as soon as she took her seat at the head of the table.     “Grandma, why are you still awake?” Selene walked toward Rafaela, who sat on the sofa, checking the door to see whether it was them. She was surprised at the level of stress she was putting herself through.“I couldn’t sleep,” Rafaela responded, her gaze on Selene’s stomach. “When I heard the news, I got scared.” She confessed. The woman thought it was Selene and her son who were involved in an accident, and even when she found out that it was someone else, she still didn’t feel okay. Her rich Spanish assent always made Selene love the woman more and more. However, she kept praying to the heavens that she would wait till she delivered her child, so that they could help treat her leukaemia.“So sorry.
