Allie's POV

The instant he honed his eyes in my direction, my breathing ceased and I stopped in my tracks. He didn't say a word nor expressed any palpable emotion.

Just blank.

I conjured a bit of gutsiness and walked into the dining room. After I had sat comfortably, I called softly not dreading to kindle a harsh conversation "Aaron"

He stared at me and looked at his meal back.

"How have you been?" I made an effort but he didn't answer. "You should at least respond. It wouldn't hurt to answer a harmless question" I pushed the limit knowing he might react.

"Harmless? If I can reflect vividly we aren't on talking terms. Don't talk to me as if everything is good" he enunciated in a rush without raising his head.

Am I grossing him out to him?

I pursed my lips deliberating on how to put it down.
