Hard to handle

SOPHIA POV 

Working as a maid for the Lucas's has been the most stressful work I think ever existed. Although Ava doesn't have a problem, and I think I like her, Lucas is the problematic one. Nothing ever pleases my so called boss Don't blame me for being harsh with my words, but you'll understand if you're in my shoes. All he ever gives me is problems and nothing else. What do I expect when he is a wicked rich guy? For the past four days that I have been here, I have come to realize that Lucas is mysterious. He's handsome and every woman's dream, but he's ruthless. 

Having heard so much about how he treated the previous maids that worked for the kid, I have done nothing but tried to be careful so I won't end up getting on his bad side for my revenge to go smoothly I need to be patient. 

It's almost midnight, and here I am, trying to put Sophia to sleep, but it seems like I'm only wasting my time. 

"I don't feel like sleeping, let's play a game," She says to me with a mischievous smile, turning to face me, giving me her best puppy eyes. I left out a frown, it's past eight here and I have been trying to put this little witch to sleep but it's not working, I also need to sleep, right?

As much as I want to scold this little girl and put her to sleep, realizing that her father would destroy the world for her, if he hear her cry, I better mind myself if I don't want to die young. 

"Princess, everyone is asleep, You should get some sleep, OK?" I try to convince her, knowing that the chance of it not working is high. 

"Mummy..." She pauses as she turns to face me. 

"Hmm? Do you need anything?" I ask her, and she shakes her head. 

"Do you think I'm a bad person?" She suddenly asks out of the blue, and I stare at her for seconds confusingly. Now that I think of it, I have been curious about her real mom. Though Lucas haven't hear her calling me her mother. Was Lucas married before? Because I have been stalking him for the past four years but I didn't know he is married. And if he was, where's his wife? How come nobody is talking about his wife in the town? Maybe I didn't dog well, I am sure I will find out what happened to his wife if I dig harder.

"No, you're not. Why did you ask that?" Confused about why a little girl would ask me that, I question her. 

"Never mind. Good night," She finally turn to the other side of the bed. Although I'm curious, my eyes are too heavy to think about that now. I shoot have asked her why, but I am very sure Ava won't sleep again if I asked any question. Standing up from the bed, I walk over to the door and stride out of the room, closing the door behind me carefully. 

It's already late in the night, but I suddenly don't feel like sleeping. I stride down the hallway as the fresh air caress my face and gives me a soothing feeling that takes my burden away. Maybe taking a walk won't be a bad idea. 

After a few minutes of walking, I finally arrive at the garden. It's my first time being at this beautiful garden, and I must confess that it's beautiful. The night view is perfect here.

"How am I gonna take revenge? I need to be fast about it" The sudden question pops up in my head as soon as I touch the lotus flower. This is the same question that has been in my head and mind for the past days and a few minutes ago. I have tried so hard to not to think about it, but unfortunately I kept thinking about it. Touching the scar on my neck, I sigh briefly. The scar I got from the serious injury I sustained doesn't seem like it's ever going to disappear. Lucas is a devil, he will regret raping and giving me this mark. I was surprised that he will recognize me, but fortunately he doesn't, maybe I am not the only lady he does thar cruel thing to. Or did he lose his memory?

"What are you doing here?" The voice I'll always recognize even in my sleep disrupts my thought and I quickly turn around to see the most handsome man standing behind me. My heart flickers at the sight of him. He's graced in a gold robe, and his raven hair is falling freely over his shoulders down to his waistline with some strands on his forehead as usual. Damn! This man is so hot. 

"Greetings, sir I quickly bow, but he only stares at me weirdly in a way that I don't understand. 

"I just put Ava to sleep, and I came here to get fresh air," I try not to stutter. 

My heart race rapidly as I watch him stare down at me. The spark in his eyes keeps drawing me to him for some unknown reason I have no idea about. 

My heartbeat stops abruptly as his hand suddenly moves slowly until it lands on my head. 

"You're doing a good job, Sophia. None of the maids ever lasted for three days with my kid," He ruffles my hair and smiles at me, showing his perfect dentition. For some seconds, I feel my brain shut down and the world stops revolving. The only thing that keeps replaying in my head is his smiles and the way he said my name gives me goosebumps. Why is this man so perfect? What is this cruel and arrogant man doing to me? Is this not going to jeopardize my plan?

"You should get some sleep now," His sexy voice pulls me back to reality, and I quickly turn my gaze away in embarrassment. I have no idea that I I am lost in my thoughts.

"I'll be on my way now," I finally rush out of the garden nervously. 

Barging into my room a few minutes later, I slam the door close and crash against it as I hold my chest to stop my heart from beating violently. It feels as though my innocent heart is going to force its way out of my chest. 

"That was so intense," I sigh briefly as I finally drag myself to my bed and crash on it tiredly. I've had a long day, and I need to get some sleep now. I don't have enough strength to shower tonight, so I'll do it tomorrow. 

Staring up at the ceiling, the image of where and how he rapes me keeps popping up in my head and I felt like seeing him and strangling him alive Gosh! I hope I get something tomorrow, if this didn't work I will have to go for plan B. Wait! Did he say that no maids ever lasted for three days? What! Is that how tough Ava can be to handle? But she's a sweet girl. Oh I guess Lucas is this problem here.
