Damascus and Amara sat on the edge of the mountain side in the spot Damascus had first taken her. He looked out at the Kingdom below. The sun was setting once more. Amara had dropped Leslie back off at home and Damascus had picked her up in his usual manor on his large black motorcycle.

They had gone somewhere they could be alone. Damascus knew the time was now to let Amara know about his past. He did not want to relay all his hidden scars, but he knew that she would have questions.

Amara waited patiently. She wanted Damascus to tell her, but it would not be rushed. She would allow him to tell her as much as he wanted at the pace he wanted.

"My father was the second in command to Gabriel's father. The previous King of Divine Kingdom. He took his job of training the warriors very seriously and protecting the Kingdom was always his first priority," Damascus began. "My father and mother got together when they were young, although I do not think it was a love at first sight situation

Damascus arrived back at the castle late after spending the evening with Amara. He could not believe that after finding out about his past she still wanted something to do with him. Damascus finally let himself dare to dream, which he had not done since he was a little boy. His dreams when he was young usually centered around his mother returning, but after a while he came to the cold hard truth that was not going to happen. Whether by her own choice of by force of his father. Gabriel had searched for her, but any leads had run dry a long time ago. Damascus walked down the hallway, deep in thought when Gabriel stepped out from his office, "I need to show you something," Gabriel said. Damascus was instantly on alert. Gabriel had a serious expression and held his hand to the doorway of his office. Damascus wasted no time going inside as Gabriel shut the door soundly behind them. Damascus half expected him to lock it, but no one in their right mind would dare to barge into Gabriel's o

  • His Wingless Angel   A Mystery

Amara and Leslie were lying around the house that Sunday. Both had agreed that a day to do absolutely nothing sounded amazing. They sat on their couch together still in their pajamas watching a cook show when the doorbell rang. Leslie looked at Amara and Amara shook her head and shrugged her shoulders. Damascus hadn’t said anything about coming over. Leslie got up and headed to the front door. "Well good morning to you too," Leslie said as she showed Damascus into the room. Amara's heart rate kicked up seeing him dressed in his usual outfit so early in the morning. He filled their living room as he stood near the entry way. "Mind if I steal you away for a little bit?" Damascus asked Amara. "Let me get dressed," Amara said as she got up and headed to her room. It didn’t take long to get dressed and head out the door with Damascus. As they walked to his bike, she could help but feel like there was yet another wall where the first had been knocked down the day before. The idea sadd

  • His Wingless Angel   Yours

Damascus's mouth was warm and soft. He wasn’t demanding in his kiss with Amara. She deserved the best version of himself and especially in this respect. He was not going to force her into anything that she would regret. Amara had been honest with him that she was still innocent. He still couldn’t believe that was possible with how beautiful she was. That she had never been serious with anyone in the past enough to have been intimate. Not that Damascus had much room to talk but he was not a virgin either. Amara's hands roamed over Damascus's body as he laid half of his weight on her. His arm was under her head and held her closer to him. His body was hard for her, but he tried to remind himself that he needed to retrain himself. He could not, however, help his hand that began to make its way down her body. Her skin was soft under his fingertips and as his hands moved lower, she pressed her body more into him. Damascus wondered if she knew completely what she was doing to him. Amara

So, where do we go from here?" Amara asked Damascus as she dried off her hair with the towel that he had provided to her. "What do you mean?" Damascus asked as he pulled a fresh black t-shirt over his head. Amara was silent as she admired his physique. He looked even more rugged with his hair still wet from their shower. His eyes were questioning waiting for her to answer. Amara looked away and she could feel a blush rising to her cheeks. Then a surprise chuckle escaped Damascus. Amara's head snapped back to his gaze. Damascus walked slowly over to her where she sat on one of the chairs at his small table in his room. Damascus stood in front of her and Amara had her head completely back to look up at him and his tall frame. Damascus's hand reached out and gently stroked her cheek. "Feel free to look all you want, Angel," one of his rare smiles pulled at the corner of his mouth. Amara smiled in answer as he was calling her out for basically ogling him as he had dressed. Her blush r

  • His Wingless Angel   Sparring

Gabriel combed through the notes that were sent over from Miss Hughs once more. The Eternal Kingdom had been in a major upset for some time it seemed. Since their princess had been taken and the previous King and Queen had to step down. Gabriel read additional notes on the Kingdom, and it appeared that the King and Queen who took over had not taken the necessary steps to ensure the Kingdom stayed at its most profitable. The King had a gambling problem, and the Queen was known to frequent not so tasteful bars and nightclubs within the Kingdom. Gabriel put the paper down and grabbed another from his desk drawer. It was a picture of the previous King and Queen. Something was gnawing at the back of his mind. He could not help but think that the woman in the photo looked exactly like Leslie. He wondered if he should pay her a visit and ask for more information about her parents. Or if she even had any. He had sent Miss Hughs to the office not long after Amara and Leslie had settled in,

  • His Wingless Angel   Sandwich

Damascus returned to his room just as Amara was waking up. The night sky was darkening just outside of the large window on the other side of the room. Amara rolled over at the sound of the door and watched as Damascus walked in carrying some sort of tray with him. He placed the tray down on the small table near the chairs and made his way over to her on the bed. Amara decided that she could watch Damascus forever as he stalked his way around the room and the empty side of the bed. The mattress dipped as he came to lean across it and brush a stray hair that had fallen over her eyes. She sat in silence as she felt the roughness of his finger and it glided along her temple. The action seemed so simple, but it did things to her heart. Could it be that she as falling in love with the man? Damascus said that they were possibly mates. Did that mean that she had no control over the feeling? That life had already made the decision for her, and she was just falling into her place? Amara was

  • His Wingless Angel   Leslie

Amara and Leslie got ready the following morning with their usual routine. As they made their way to the office. Amara noticed that the older woman who had talked to Leslie prior, was standing outside of their building. Amara pulled the car into her usual spot and Amara and Leslie both exited. Leslie noticed the woman as well and walked up to where she was standing on the sidewalk. "Good morning, can I help you?" Leslie asked. "Might I come in? I have a couple of questions for you," the woman said. Leslie nodded and headed over to the glass door to unlock it. Amara held her hand out to the older woman to go ahead and follow Leslie inside. Once inside, Leslie quickly put her stuff down and showed the woman to the small conference room. Amara turned to her own office to give them privacy. Amara did not want to hover in case there was something that Leslie didn’t feel comfortable saying around her. Leslie had said the woman was trying to help her find any family she might have and who

not trust herself around him. He had texted her that morning and she claimed to have a lot of work to do so was unable to meet him for lunch. Amara kept her head buried in her computer for the better part of the day. Leslie had come in a few times to offer coffee and something to eat. Amara gave her a thankful smile and continued to work. Her mind had been on anything else but work and it was making it difficult to focus. It was three o'clock before she knew it and Leslie lightly tapped on her doorway once more. "Are we staying late tonight?" Leslie asked. Amara looked at the clock and sat back in her chair. For working all day she had not accomplished much. She was irritated at herself and nodded in answer to Leslie's question about leaving. The two women gathered their things and locked up for the evening. Leslie had been quiet as well, Amara noticed. She had not pressured Leslie after her meeting with the older woman. Leslie would tell her in her own due time. Amara and Leslie w

Damascus walked back into the room. Amara was sitting up in the bed and looked at his with a questioning look. "Is everything alright?" she asked. "Yes. I just had to call Gabriel and check in," Damascus said. Suddenly Amara's eyes went wide. "I am the worse friend in the world. I haven't even checked in with Leslie," Amara suddenly jumped from the bed and walked over to Damascus. "Is there a phone I could use to call her?" Amara asked. Since her cell phone was lying on the ground somewhere back home, she wasn’t able to text Leslie. She had been so caught up in the events since they had arrived at the Dragonhold Kingdom. "I have already asked the butler to see if the driver can go pick us up a couple of new phones during our stay so that we do not have to use King's Christian's personal phone. To be honest I don't trust having personal conversations over other phones," Damascus explained. See saw the confusion in Amara's eyes and explained further, "They could have some kind of r

"Why would you help us take the throne back?" Henry asked. "It is your rightful place. Your child was stolen from you, my guess, in an attempt to do just that. Remove you both from the throne," Gabriel said. "Even if that were true, we have already relinquished the throne and a new King and Queen have taken over," Willa responded instead. "Do either of you know the condition of the Eternal Kingdom?" Gabriel asked. He assumed that they had been keeping tabs on the Kingdom, but then again, they were far enough outside of it that they might not. "It was made clear that we were no longer welcomed by my cousin and his wife," Henry answered."Cousin? Why did I not know that?" Gabriel asked himself more than Henry. "Distant cousin, but yes, Alexander Bardin is in fact a cousin of mine," Henry said. "But they have yet to produce an heir," Gabriel said. He was still unsure of how they were able to take possession of the throne and keep it for as long as they have without having a child o

  • His Wingless Angel   Reunion

Leslie and Gabriel filed into a large SUV. There was already a driver and passenger in the vehicle which left the backseat for the two of them. Gabiel had told her that there was a good chance they had found her parents and wasted no time getting everything ready for them to leave. Leslie wondered why the King was going. It seemed like something that he could just send her and the team to go rather than risk him being away from the Kingdom for too long. "I feel really good about this," Gabriel said as he looked out the window. Leslie hadn’t realized that she was staring at him again. Leslie wondered if he had felt her eyes on him. "That makes one of us," Leslie said under her breath."Faith, Leslie. Faith," it was the first time she had heard her name on his lips, and it did something to her insides. They had spent a number of hours together the last few days and in that time she decided that she actually like the King. He was charming and funny. He always had a joke to spare. Lesl

  • His Wingless Angel   Sickness

King Christian had allowed Amara and Damascus the day to themselves, but he requested a meeting the following day. He had some questions, and he wanted answers. Amara and Damascus stood in his office. Each chose to stay rather than be seated in the chairs across from his desk. "First off I wanted to start by saying congratulations to the mum to be," King Christian said to Amara. She smiled a tight smile and nodded her head once. She wondered if the King was going to toss them out of the Kingdom after finding out the truth. That was if he had found out the truth. "Second of all, there has been another attempt at a breach on our territory line. The wolves seem very persistent in their goal of getting to you Miss Amara," King Christian was turned in her direction. He had yet to acknowledge Damascus other than when they had first walked in. "So, I am giving you the same opportunity that I have given to your mate. I want to know why they are so desperate to get to you. There must be a r

  • His Wingless Angel   Royalty

"What have you thought of our Kingdom so far?" Gabriel asked Leslie. "It is nice. All the people seem nice as well. Apart from their King picking out my lunch," Leslie said. She had more of a teasing tone so Gabriel knew that she wasn't actually upset about it. "He sounds like a real jerk if you ask me," Gabriel responded. Leslie chuckled. "Ill make sure to let him know," Leslie said. For some reason she found it easy enough to talk to him. Even though he was a King of a city full of Dragons. "Do you think Amara and Damascus made it to the UK alright?" Leslie asked. Gabriel wondered why Amara hadn’t checked in with Leslie yet. He didn’t think it was because of her news. "Damascus called me earlier. They made it safe and sound," Gabriel said, hoping it helped Leslie. She creased her brow that Damascus had reached out to Gabriel, but Amara had gone silent on Leslie. Was Amara mad at her for pushing her to go to the UK. Leslie hoped not. She itched to take out her phone and text her

  • His Wingless Angel   Just Lunch

"How would they have known where we were going?" Amara asked anxiously. Damascus had just told her about the wolves at the territory line. "Unfortunately, flight plans cannot be encrypted," Damascus explained. It was the only way that he had been able to explain that the pack was able to narrow down on where he and Amara had been headed. He knew the pilot and stewardess wouldn’t have said anything, but flight planes were easier to get a hold of if one knew where to go. "So, we are in the same situation as home. Why did we leave again?" Amara asked, her sarcasm was a coping mechanism, and she tried not to let it slip but she was worried about them being so far from the Divine Kingdom. She wasn’t sure about King Christian and how far he would be willing to help protect them. "It is still distance from the entire pack. The Alpha probably reached out to a pack here in the UK to scout it out," Damascus at least hoped that was the case. He had half a mind to just set the Crescent Moon pa

  • His Wingless Angel   Reconnected

Damascus entered the room, but there was no sign of Amara. Damascus sense heightened and his heart rate picked up. He heard the shower running in the adjoining bathroom. He quickly walked over and tried the door. It was unlocked and he pushed through to check on Amara. Amara stood in the glass shower; she was washing her long blonde hair. She looked over her shoulder at Damascus but turned away and continued to message her scalp. Damascus stripped his clothes quickly and opened the glass door. His arms circled his waist and drew her closer to him. Even though Amara had been irritated when he left, some of her irritation had went down the drain along with the water. "Can you forgive me for my behavior tonight?" Damascus asked as he kissed her shoulder. "For which part exactly?" Amara asked not turning around. "All of it. From the way that I reacted like a jackass finding out you were pregnant and again after my nightmare," Damascus said. Yet again he had been so consumed by his ow

  • His Wingless Angel   More Secrets

Damascus spread his wings as he soared through the air. The breeze helped him to catch his breathing. He had felt trapped in the castle. He hated having to leave Amara, but he had not been able to regulate himself to keep her safe. The last thing he needed was to lose control and shift with her so close. Damascus flew through the air for a little while longer. As he descended to the ground once more, he noticed that a figure stood near his clothes where he had placed them on a bench near the back of the castle. Damascus landed but waited to shift back into his human form. The figure started walking towards him and when they finally came into the moonlight, he saw that it was the King himself. Damascus shifted and reached for his clothes. Once dressed he bowed towards the King. Damascus had not even considered the idea to ask before shifting. He was used to being able to do it as he pleased within his own Kingdom. "Apologies, your highness. I did not ask permission before taking to

  • His Wingless Angel   Innocent

Damascus knew that he was dreaming but it did not make the situation any less real in his mind. Amara and what he assumed was their child in her arms were trapped behind bars. Damascus was tied to a chair in the center of a filthy room. His breathing was labored as the faceless men around him took turns beating on his battered face and body. "Damascus," Amara cried. Damascus looked at her through his one eye that had not been closed shut from his face swelling. She cradled the child to her chest as she watched the men work over his body. Just then one of the faceless men bent over and blocked Amara from his view. "I told you that you were worthless. You couldn't even protect your mate and child," the man said. The voice was haunting familiar. His father. Damascus growled at the man and tried to lung for him. The man stood back and laughed at Damascus's failed attempts. "I may have been an asshole, but I never hid who I was. You, on the other hand, have her completely fooled. That
