Born into a family of crime and scandals, Kendra Knight was the stunning strong-willed daughter of Johnathan Knight who was arranged to marry Elias Richardson, the eldest son of Tyrell Richardson. The Richardsons and the Knights, were two of London’s most powerful and wealthiest of families had been at war with each other for over a decade. It was only up until recently they both decided that the only way to end this dispute and secure their financial futures was by getting both of their eldest children married and putting aside their differences. Elias was the kind of guy who didn’t take life too seriously and lived by his own rules, whilst Kendra was the complete opposite. She liked to work hard and reach for the stars. There was only one thing she wanted and that was to become the heir to her father’s multi billionaire company, and she was going to do everything in her power to make sure she got that position, even if it meant agreeing to a fake marriage. A marriage that came with one rather strange condition. Every night they must come home to each other and share the same bed, no matter what happened or where they were. For how long would they both be able to resist and not give in to their sinful temptations? Would they find the missing piece of their lives in each other and fall in love, or will they free themselves from the other the moment their marriage contract ends and go their own separate ways?

Chapter 1- A Father's Order

KENDRA’S POV

It was after dinner, and I was heading upstairs to bed when I heard my father’s voice roar throughout the entire house loudly.

I walked towards his office and stood outside the door, thinking it wasn’t the first time I had heard him speaking this way to my brother Kaleb.

Kaleb was my younger twin and the heir of my father’s multi-billionaire drug business, but unlike me he didn’t care about money or reputation.

He loved partying and enjoying life to the fullest, which often got him into trouble, just like today.

“If I ever find you in a club again, watch what happens” I heard my father Jonathan shout as loud as he could, making my heart shudder.

“You can’t stop me from having fun, I don’t care about you or your stupid business” Kaleb said moments later, without any care in the world.

I heard some footsteps and before my father did something he would come to regret, I quickly barged into the office and looked at the gun he was holding in his hand.

“No papa you can’t do this” I said before I quickly stood in front of Kaleb, thinking I couldn’t lose him, he was all I had.

I love him dearly and there was nothing I wouldn’t do for him to keep him safe.

“Move out the way or I’ll shoot you to” father said emotionlessly.

Even though he was our biological father, I sometimes wondered if he actually was because of the way he treated us compared to his other kids.

“Then shoot me” I said, earning myself a look from Kaleb as he knew father might even do it.

He tried to pull me back, but I didn’t move, I wanted to protect him with all my heart.

“This tongue of yours will get you killed one day” Father warned me before he lowered his gun and glared at me and Kaleb both.

I walked over to him and looked up into his cold eyes that looked like they had seen more pain than love over the years.

“Until then I will do what I can to protect the ones I love” I said before I told Kaleb to leave as I wanted to talk to him alone.

I waited for the door to close after him before I looked up at father,

“You know he isn’t mentally well, yet you still treat him this way” I said before I ruffled my hair, thinking there was no such a thing as peace in this house.

Father sat back down on his chair and looked at me with a frown on his face,

“I don’t believe in any of that crap, he is fine, if he can party, he can run a business” he said coldly.

It wasn’t the first time I had heard him say that and knew it would most definitely not the last either as he always liked to drop it in every conversation.

“Well maybe you should, because a person could look fine from the outside, but be hurting from the inside” I replied quickly, my large brown eyes not leaving his.

I knew father hated it when I sided Kaleb, I could see it in his cold blue eyes.

“If you’re done defending him you may leave” he said before he pulled out a cigarette and lit it quickly.

Instead of leaving I walked over to him and looked down at him,

“Goodnight papa” I said before I wrapped both of my arms around him and hugged him tightly, hoping he didn’t push me away like he always did.

Just when I thought he wouldn’t, he did, and it hurt. I always tried my best to be there for him and Kaleb, but sometimes it felt like it just wasn’t enough.

I longed for the day he hugged me back and held me in his arms tightly, just like how he used to do when I was a little girl.

It was just a few minutes later when I made my way back upstairs. I walked towards Kaleb’s room and prayed he was inside, even though I had a feeling he had probably sneaked out once again.

I turned the knob and felt my stomach sink the moment I realised he wasn’t there.

“This guy will be the end of me” I thought to myself before I quickly hurried to my room and changed out of my clothes, thinking I’ll bring him home before father realises, he was even gone.

I walked to my closet and quickly picked out a nice short dress before I put it on and ruffled my glossy brown hair that reached my waist.

I touched up on my lipstick and looked at myself in the mirror, thinking tonight was not the night I wanted to go out as it was raining heavily, and I hated the cold weather of London.

Half an hour later and I had finally arrived at the club where Kaleb liked to hang out at often.

I was wearing a nice fuchsia pink coloured sequined dress that had thin straps and nicely clung to my body.

It was the perfect dress to fit in with the crowds and I just hoped no one tried making a move on me, because I was in no mood to entertain anyone.

I had no time for men or relationships and just preferred to fuck and leave, but not tonight, tonight I needed to get my brother home before father even realised, he was gone.

I stepped out of my expensive looking car and handed my key to the tall valet guy, not missing his wandering eyes as he checked me out shamelessly.

“I’ll call you when I’m ready to leave” I told him before I walked up to the fancy looking club, and showed my id to the two burly security guards that were standing at the entrance.

They allowed me in pretty quickly and I couldn’t be more glad as the rain was coming down fast and had almost soaked me through.

“Hey pretty lady, let’s dance” a young guy who looked in his early twenties said as loud upbeat music played in the background.

I didn’t spare him a second glance and kept walking towards the front, thinking Kaleb had to be here somewhere.

The crowds seemed much bigger than normal, and I wondered if someone famous was in town, as usually the club wasn’t that busy, on a weekday.

I found Kaleb sitting around a leather booth with a few of his friends who were all drinking, talking and simply enjoying each other’s company.

“And look who we have here” one of them said, bringing everyone’s attention to me, but Kaleb’s as he was too busy bopping his head to the music.

I looked past them and straight at Kaleb, thinking he wasn’t doing anything wrong, but father was right, he needed to get himself together, for his future.

“Kaleb, I need to talk you” I said as I stepped over a few of his friends and sat down next to him, hoping he didn’t get annoyed.

It took Kaleb a moment to realise that I was there,

“What are you doing here?” he asked with a small smile that told me he wasn’t annoyed to see me.

I took the glass of drink from his hand and quickly gulped it down, making a few of his friends whistle as it was clear they weren’t expecting me to do that.

“I came to save your ass, now let’s go before papa finds out we’re not home” I said as I felt the alcohol run down the inside of my throat.

Kaleb ordered some more drinks and looked at me with a small smile,

“I’m not going anywhere, not until my man Elias hit’s the stage” he said.

I moved all of my long hair over one shoulder and looked at him, wondering who the hell was Elias and why he wanted to see him so much.

“Elias?” I asked with one of my perfectly arched brows raised ever so slightly.

Kaleb passed him a glass of coke and looked at me amused,

“Yes, aka the best singer in town, he’s performing tonight” he said with the excitement clear in his voice.

I wondered what was so amazing about this Elias guy that my brother was willing to risk losing his life for, even though I had also taken an instant liking to his name as it sounded nice and catchy.

Only when the crowds got louder, I followed their voices and looked towards the stage and up at the man who everyone seemed to be waiting for so eagerly.

Chapter 2- Stealing Glances
KENDRAI thought I had seen every kind of man out there, that was until my eyes fell on the man on the stage and I couldn’t help but stare. He was the sexiest guy I had ever laid my eyes on and if I thought his face was perfect than I clearly hadn’t seen the rest of his shirtless body. I loved the way his brown skin glistened under the bright lights of the stage, and emphasized his well-muscled torso and six pack. He had a very strong looking body, with one arm completely covered in tattoos. “What’s up London, make some noise” Elias shouted in his sexy soft voice that didn’t match his rough appearance at all. That was all he had to say before everyone in the crowds cheered him on loudly and the background music got louder. Kaleb quickly got up from his seat and made his way over to the dance floor along with the rest of his friends, before I even had a chance to say anything. I bopped my head to the nice upbeat music, and it wasn’t long before Elias started singing and I rolled

Chapter 3- Brown Eyed Beauty
ELIASThe moment I walked out onto the stage I knew it was it was going to be a good night. I watched the crowd go wild beneath me as I told the DJ to play the background music for the song I wanted to sing. I adjusted the volume on the microphone in my hand before I started singing, bringing all the people in the club onto the floor, everyone but one. I looked towards the seating booth where the young brunette was sitting, looking all pretty with a drink in her hand. She was the only one in the whole club who wasn’t interested in me and that enticed meI gestured her to stand up with my free hand, but she didn’t listen and frowned instead. I gave her a quick wink before I continued singing, bringing everyone’s attention on her. She wasn’t my type but something about her had caught my attention. I watched her down her drink before she stood up and walked towards the dancefloor, looking even sexier than before. The pink dress she was wearing nicely clung to her body, showing of ge

Chapter 4- Marriage Contract
KENDRAIt was the following morning, and I woke up nice and early for my early morning training session. I washed my face and brushed my teeth before I tied all of my long hair up in a ponytail and made my way downstairs. I quickly grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge before I headed out and drove myself to the private gym where I liked to train, thinking waking up and climbing out of bed on a cold morning was not easy. I parked my car in my usual spot before I made my way inside and scanned my card. The metal barriers opened pretty quickly and let me through before they closed after me again. Ben my personal trainer who was a big bulky guy stopped whatever he was doing and looked at me with a serious look on his face,“You’re late” he said before I could even explain myself. I put all of my personal belongings into a locker before I walked over to him,“Only by two minutes” I said before I put on my boxing gloves. Ben wasted no time in telling me to get to work and I knew it

Chapter 5- Meaningless Vows
ELIASIt took a lot of convincing for me to agree to this contract marriage that dad had put forward. I knew it was more of a business deal than anything else and all I had to do was pretend that was I husband material for a year. Mum took it worst than me and I guessed that was probably because she didn’t want any random woman coming into our family, the family she had sacrificed a lot for over the years. From the beginning I made it very clear to dad that I was going to continue living my life the way I wanted, and that no woman was going to change that in any way. Dad said I could do whatever I want, but on one condition that I returned home every night, and shared the bed with her, no matter what happened. It was a strange request, but I didn’t question him, as after all he was going to give me something that I had always wanted. The wedding day arrived pretty fast, and I quickly got ready. It was going to be a small ceremony with a few close family members and the priest who

Chapter 6- Wedding Party
KENDRAThe look on his face when I addressed him as my husband was priceless. I ruffled my hair and looked towards one of the two photographers who I had booked for the day. I wasn’t lying when I said to Elias that this may possibly be my only wedding hence why I had even dressed the part.It was clear he wasn’t expecting to see me when I first walked out with Kaleb and if I’m totally honest I didn’t expect to see him there either, although he did look pretty sexy standing up there with a hand in his pocket. “This is actually my first time ever seeing a groom who doesn’t want to be photographed on his own wedding day” one of my photographers a middle-aged woman commented whilst another one fixed the bottom of my trail. “What can I say, he must be really shy” I said with a small smile, not knowing that he was standing right behind me. It was only when he spoke, I realised he was there.“That’s the last thing I’ll ever be” he said quietly in my ear from behind, making my whole-body

Chapter 7- Wedding Night
ELIASI took off my blazer the moment we reached the luxurious hotel suite that I had booked for the night and tossed it onto one of the two chairs that were near the window. It was a decent hotel with the right amount of privacy and a good view of the city. “Since we’ll be sharing the bed, which side do you want?” I asked Kendra who was busy taking in her new surroundings. She let go of the bottom of her dress that she was holding in her hand and looked at me,“Who said we’ll be sharing the bed? I mean I much rather sleep alone than with you” she said before she sat down and took of the white heels she was wearing. I couldn’t help but look at her pretty feet, “It’s one of the conditions of this marriage sweetheart, so either you sleep with me or don’t sleep at all” I said with a small smirk on my face, thinking she was definitely delusional if she thought this fake contract marriage was going to be easy. She rolled her eyes and looked at me with a small frown,“I don’t remember

Chapter 8- Reckless
KENDRA “Fuck that really hurt” I thought the moment I landed hard on my knees, rubbing them nicely against the ground beneath me. I had saved my face from hitting the floor but hurt my elbows in the process. I heard Elias’s car screech and come to a halt right in front of me before he quickly stepped out and walked over to me. “Are you ok?” he asked with the concern clear in his voice as he lifted me up by the elbows and looked down at me, almost like he was checking me over to see if I had any visible damage. “I’m fine” I said before I pulled myself out of his arms and looked up at him angrily, thinking how dare he pretend like he cared when he was the reason I had taken the drastic step in the first place. “You could have hurt yourself badly” he said before his sexy greyish blue eyes fell on my elbows that were both grazed. I took a step back from him and looked up at him, “This is all your fault so stop with the sympathy please” I said before I turned and walked away, th

Chapter 9- His Family
KENDRAI felt suffocated the moment I stepped inside the house and followed Elias to one of the main sitting rooms where I could hear a few of his family members talking. “Here she comes” Elias said the moment he walked into the room and turned everyone’s attention on me. I watched him walk over to his grandmother Talia and give her a big hug, making her day. “I have been waiting for this moment since morning” Talia said with a smile before she got up from where she was sitting and quickly walked over to me. She pulled me into her arms and gave me a nice tight hug, one that almost left me breathless. “Welcome home dear” she said before she introduced me to everyone, starting with Elias’s mum Trina, followed by his younger brother Mikel and his wife Selena. “Nice to meet you” Selena said quietly with a small smile before she shook my hand politely. “And you” I said before I sat down next to Talia and not Elias who had made space for me next to him on the sofa across. Chapter 10- Snacks In Bed
ELIASI took a hot steaming shower and dried myself with a towel before I put on some fitted boxers and a pair of black jogger bottoms that hung low and showed of the top band of my black underwear. I walked back towards the bedroom and stopped in my tracks when my eyes fell on the gorgeous beauty sitting on my bed crossed legged with her laptop in front of her. She was wearing a berry-coloured silk robe that teasingly showed off a hint of her sexy cleavage and creamy smooth legs. “What you doing?” I asked as I walked over to the bed and picked up the tv remote from the bedside table. “Just some work” she said before she looked up at me, her large eyes falling on my shirtless body. “You know you don’t have that amazing of a body that you feel you need to flaunt it at any given chance” she said before she turned her attention back to her laptop. I climbed into the bed next to her and looked at her with a small smirk on my face, thinking she had interesting sense of humour and I l
