"Mam. It is the police. They are coming in".

A visible confusion of threads appeared on their face as they looked at him and wondered why they had come. In the meantime, Samira asked her mother if she filed any complaint against him but she said no. A flicker of doubt raised in her thinking if this as well connected to him which could bring them to the footpath and his confidence screaming in him made Yamini gulp down her tension.

Yamini looked at him and their eyes met and his eyes showed what she was lying about. They taunted her about her past and crimes.

"Remember what you did to us? You'll pay for every f*cking thing. Every action and death will be paid off with the right amount. And I'll watch you drowning in your karma".

Her eyes remained wide with shock and gulped down listening to his words. She is regretting that he left him alive and unturned. She didn't know that small kid would come back to take revenge in greater turns.

Soon the police came into the picture along with handcuffs and before they do any further proceedings Yamini put her accusations forward.

"I-i didn't do anything. He is the one. He is the one who killed my son. I want to file a complaint against him. Please arrest him right now. He came here to kill us as well...

" Mrs.Gupta. I request you not to be a troublemaker. We came here on the orders of the superior position and for the justice of the man. You are identified as a murderer of Ms. Urmilla, mother of Raghav Verma, and also for money laundering and conspiracy ".

" What? I have never done that. A-and.. I never killed anyone. I d-didn't killed anyone. I didn't. Stay away from me. I'm not coming with you".

"E-excuse me. I hope you aren't taking me as well. I'm just her sister. But I don't have my hand in any of their business. I'm completely innocent. She even abused her daughter-in-law as well. I just came here to stay for a while".

Said Meera and Yamini glared at her lie. They live together and she is involved in domestic violence as well and Meera didn't dare to look at her.

"Liar". Yamini whispered to her and gritted her teeth.

" Officer. You surely took the wrong information. My mother didn't do any such thing. These all are false cases. I suggest you investigate before you take action. This is all his plan. He is accusing us of fake cases".

Sameera spoke while backing her mother away and the police shook his head for her.

"You are mistaken. It is proven that she is the killer and the news was going to publish in the mass media as well. But Respectable Raghav has stopped it from happening so. And I hope you know the meaning of conspiracy. You all had your hands on these illegal things. It's not just Ms.Yamini who is to be arrested. It's all of you as well".

The police said and Aasha looked surprised. She never did any such thing then why her? As if the police heard his thoughts he looked at her and spoke.

" Not you Mrs. Gupta. You are out of this case. We got information that you were being abused".

They remained still listening to the information. Yamini's hand clutched to her heart as she felt the prickling pain and stumbled back when Sameera and Meera supported her mother to stand properly. The pain is slowly diluting but her face still held the lines of pain on her forehead.

"This can't be true. I don't believe it. We are not coming with you. We aren't going to jail".

Her daughter spoke when Yamini looked at the man who was the cause of their situation. He did it. Her hatred and regret grew thinking why she had left him. She always saw him as good for nothing and that is where the mistake went. She shouldn't have underestimated him.

"I hope you don't force us to take action with force".

Sameera shook her head and looked at Raghav and her eyes pleased him. She walked to him and joined her hands in front of him.

"Please--please we don't know anything. Please stop doing this. I know we have a bad beef between each other but just don't throw such accusations on us".

As soon as she finished her words she was swirled back roughly by her mother through her elbow. Yamini who still sees him as good for nothing felt humiliated when she saw her daughter begging him. She would never do that. She would never bend in front of him. She glared at her and whispered not to beg in front of him which made him snicker. Her daughter forcefully got her hand out and turned to him when he spoke.

"tch tch tch". He shook his head to her and spoke.

"Just because you didn't know anything doesn't mean she didn't do anything. Your mother is a murderer, dear sister".

He quoted the word sister specifically and her face turned helpless listening to it. She shook her head lightly as she began to request him.

"In a way, you are my brother as well. If not my brother you are still my stepbrother. Please. Don't do this with us. W-, we don't want to go jail. Please".

She begged and this time again she was pulled back by her mother as she glared at her with murderous eyes.

" Don't beg from that man. Just don't. I would tolerate anything but not begging him".

Looking at that he smiled contently. This is what he exactly wants. Their stripped self-respect would not give him much enjoyment when he humiliates them on their pride, ego, and self-respect.

Yamini's sister Meera was about to counter her at how their lives are going to be ruined because of her and she still cares about her ego. But before she open her mouth Raghav spoke out.

" Fine".

His answer stilled them as they looked at him surprised. But he had another plan to be executed. Folding his hands back he said.

" But you know. There will be conditions. Nothing comes for free. At least not from an enemy? Right "?

Listening to him Yamini ranged knowing where it is going. The term conditions are something predictable for him. Just then Meera urged forward.

" We agree. We agree to whatever conditions you put on us. But please don't send us to jail. We all can't be punished for our mis----

He raised his hand and she became quiet.

"I need a word from you all that you'll agree with my condition. Or else you all be in jail".

Yamini was about to reject when Meera held her back on seeing the colors changing on her face.

Leaning to her she spoke quietly through her gritted teeth.

"Maybe you want to go to jail but not all of us. Not certainly your daughter. Look at your daughter before you speak anything. You already lost your son. Don't put another one in hardship. And it is better to lose respect in a home rather than lose respect in front of the whole world. Knowing that you killed a princess of Rajvanshi people won't leave you. Just stay silent and we'll take care".

The flaming anger in Yamini was lightened as now she became cautious about her situation. Meera just disclosed their reality. As she said she can't put her daughter's life at risk, not after losing a son. And the prestige thing matters as well. She can't take the risk of losing it in front of the world.

His eyes snapped at Aasha and their eyes met as she flinched back at the sudden stare.

" You as well. You have to agree with the condition as well".

Immediately Sameera turned back and glared at her communicating that she should agree with him. And Asha gave a meek nod at him.

" Words"!

He demanded and she opened her little mouth to speak.

" Y-, yes I agree. I agree to the conditions".

She said while he stared at her with a sharp gaze fearing hed form. And then looking at all he stepped back to fit the frame of them in his eyes as he muttered.

"Remember. I'm not forcing you all. You volunteered yourself".

His words mocked them as Yamini gritted her teeth.

Saying that he turned to the inspector he spoke in a curt tone.

" I take my complaint back. Leave".

Was his one order and they left as if they never came. They looked at him astonished wondering what power does he hold that he could order around police as if they work under him.

All of them stood around with surprise and shock morphed on their faces while some had fear as they looked at him who was striding in front of them with his hands locked at his back.

Turning to them he looked into those eyes with his sharp gaze sending shivers to them as he spoke the next words again striding from one end to the other with his authoritative personality.

"From now on.....this property.....This house belongs to me Arnav Singh Rathore, and you all ....will be working here, under me from now on".

Their eyes widen as they looked at him in disbelief. The owners of their house till yesterday are supposed to work under him. How insulting. They would never do that. Before they open their mouth he spoke again.

" If not, you will be out as beggars. Or just work under me as slaves".

" You all will be workers, slaves under me. You'll work in this home like laborers and follow my words like puppets. If I order you to dance, you should. If I order you to bang your heads you should. If I order you to jump out of the window you should. Or else, the prestige that you held dearly to yours will be crippled badly. The name and fame you earned will be tarnished in the dirt. And particularly Yamini".

He bent forward to her level as he whispered.

"Keep on having this pride and ego Yamini. I fucking love to break it".

"You have girls to take care of right. And a girl's matter is always delicate. You don't want them to break right".

Yamini glared at him with her squinted eyes as he smiled at her.

"You better be aware that you have a daughter who carries the honor of your home. Right"?

His voice is low and threatening as their eyes met with each other and the hatred plays with the strings between them.

He said as he took a side glance at them and smirked on finding them red in humiliation and anger.

This is what he wants. Nope. He wants more than that. He turned around swiftly where she stood. There is a white saree. The one who weighs the honor of her new home on her shoulders as a daughter-in-law but a widow. The wife of that person who he had killed right on the aisle in front of her. To destroy their honor, the one they cherish the most she will be his one target for him.

He strode towards her in slow steps as her body visibly tensed with her shoulders rising as she looked at him hesitantly with her flickering eyelashes casting up and down. Standing right in front of her he jutted his chin to her with a smirk as he spoke.

"And you Mrs. Rathore. The honor of this home will be my slave from now on, servicing my special needs and comforts, in my bedroom ".

Her eyes widen as she gasped at him listening to those words which she didn't deserve.

That evening, she tried to push her fears aside. It was 8 p.m., and the town was alive with celebrations. The temple courtyard was filled with people, eager to witness the classical dance performances. She sat in front of the mirror backstage, preparing herself. Her slender fingers carefully rubbed kajal around her big, expressive eyes, creating a striking wing that accentuated their beauty. She repeated the process for her other eye, ensuring symmetry, then placed a small red tilak between her eyebrows. With her makeup complete, she glanced at herself in the mirror. Her reflection stared back, confident yet burdened. She forced a smile, trying to suppress the storm within her, and took a deep breath. When her name was called, she rose gracefully and stepped onto the stage. The sound of the song filled the air, and her feet instinctively followed the rhythm. Every beat was matched with a precise tap of her heels. Her hands moved fluidly, weaving a story in tandem with the lyrics.

Lifting the bottle, Raghav tilted it back, the bitter burn of wine sliding down his throat, doing little to numb the storm raging within him. He set it down heavily on the table, his trembling fingers returning to the laptop in front of him. The screen flickered as he sifted through empty folders, hoping against hope that something—anything—remained. But it was all gone. Every file. Every image. Every trace. Asha had done it. She had deleted everything before she ran. His jaw clenched at the memory of her defiance, her determination to break free. He had promised her she would be free after two weeks. He had told her he would let her go, but deep down, he knew he had never intended to. The thought of losing her was unbearable, and he had broken that promise. She couldn’t live with him, though. He had seen it in her eyes every day—the silent resentment, the way she shrank from his touch, the way her spirit dimmed under his control. And so, she had waited for her moment. The bla

Later, the dim light of the bathroom door crept into the room. She emerged, clothed, her hair damp and framing her face. Her steps were deliberate, yet her expression was icy and unreadable. She avoided looking at him for too long, her gaze cold and detached. The faint rustle of her movement woke him slightly, but he only stirred, his arm falling lazily over the side of the bed. She paused for a moment, her heart hammering, before slipping out of the room. *****In the kitchen, she opened the refrigerator, the cool air brushing against her face as she retrieved the juice. Pouring herself a glass, her hands trembled slightly. From her pocket, she retrieved a small packet of powdered sleeping tablets, her eyes darting toward the doorway to ensure she was alone. She emptied the packet into the glass and stirred quickly. The sound of footsteps behind her made her freeze. She turned sharply to see him standing shirtless in the doorway. His disheveled hair and the soft expression

He didn’t relax. His body remained tense, his eyes sharp and searching. “Fighting what?” he pressed, unwilling to let the matter drop. “Fighting all this,” she replied, her voice barely audible. Her gaze lifted to meet his, her sharp eyes piercing his. For a moment, she gathered her courage, the weight of the truth heavy in her chest. “In these days, I’ve realized that my fighting doesn’t change anything,” she said, her voice carrying a bitter edge. “Does it?” He didn’t respond, his silence a confirmation of the unspoken reality between them. Her next words came more forcefully, her resolve strengthening despite the tremor in her voice. “If I say I don’t want to marry you and want to leave, would you let me go?” She already knew the answer. It was etched into his every action, every word he had spoken. The announcement of his proposal was proof enough—he wasn’t planning to let her go. But still, she asked, the question hanging heavily in the air. “Tell me. Would you?” Fo

He sighed softly and extended his arm to her, an unspoken gesture of comfort and reassurance. "Come," he said, his tone gentle but firm, as if nothing unusual had just transpired. She hesitated for a fleeting second before slipping her hand into the crook of his arm, allowing him to guide her back to the event hall. The rest of the evening passed in a haze. Applause, congratulations, and polite exchanges surrounded them, but she barely registered any of it. Her mind was elsewhere, replaying his confession on the stage and the storm of emotions it had unleashed within her. Finally, the event came to a close, and they made their way to the car. The silence between them was heavy, yet he seemed unbothered by it, his demeanor calm and peaceful as he navigated the dimly lit streets. As they drove, he reached over and took her hand in his, his grip firm yet warm. She looked at him, startled, but his eyes remained fixed on the road ahead. She was seated beside him in the front row, her heart pounding against her ribcage. The grandeur of the function hall was overwhelming, its opulence radiating from every corner. The red carpeted floor stretched beneath their feet like a royal invitation, and the dim, golden lighting bathed the room in a soft, warm glow. The space was alive with a subtle hum of whispered conversations, laughter, and clinking glasses. Everyone in attendance seemed to glimmer with a richness that extended beyond their attire, leaving her feeling like an outsider despite her carefully chosen ensemble. She had dressed to match the elegance of the event, but even in her perfectly draped saree, she felt small. The air of effortless sophistication exuded by the crowd made her question the authenticity of their joy. Their hollow laughter and picture-perfect smiles felt more like a façade than genuine emotion. The event progressed seamlessly, with guests congratulating each other and exchanging pleasantries

Her lips parted slightly in shock. Every new piece of information about his life left her more confused, more trapped in this strange, dangerous world he had forced her into. Noticing her reaction, he smirked. “Relax. My brother doesn’t kill people unless it’s necessary.” She looked down, willing her face to stay neutral. He didn’t need to see how unsettled she was. Living with him, she had learned to mask her emotions, knowing that any visible discomfort could make things worse. “Doesn’t your grandmother say anything about this?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly. “About you and your brother’s… profession?” He laughed outright at her question, the sound echoing off the kitchen walls. “She’s the one in charge. She keeps us in line. But she doesn’t approve of my brother’s work. It’s complicated. He joined the mafia to protect me. Back when I was in observation homes, I was safer there because of him.” “Eat,” he ordered, his voice firm, breaking her train of thought. Sh

No one in the room could sleep. She lay awake, her body tense as she remained acutely aware of him behind her. There was an unspoken understanding between them, fragile but present, like a thread stretched too thin. She was holding up her end of their silent deal—staying close, talking to him when he needed it—but she also drew her boundaries firmly. He had agreed to respect those lines, promising not to touch her, and she held him to his word. He lay on his side, clutching the loose end of her saree in his hand. It wasn’t much, but it was all he had, and he clung to it as if it could soothe the ache in him. His gaze rested on her back. If only she’d face him, he thought, he might have been able to lose himself in her expressions, her eyes. But she wouldn’t. She had made that clear. “Listen,” he said softly, breaking the silence. His voice was low, uncertain. Her eyes fluttered open, reluctant. She was on the edge of sleep, drifting, but his words pulled her back. “Yes?” she a
