Schuyler's P. O. V."I didn't do anything, Hunter." My eyes sharpened while looking at him. "Why the hell are you pinning it on me?"Even after we got on the event, all dressed up and with lycans waiting for us outside, Hunter wouldn't stop his questions. I looked outside of the car and watched as everyone surrounded us with their faces and looking at the car we're in.If not for the heavily tinted windows, they'd probably see through the horror in my face with the fact that I am freaking inside of the lycans den. "Don't worry." I heard Hunter say it in a serious tone. "The car's lycan proof."I sarcastically laughed, "Nice try, Hunter, but I'll pass in believing your lies. I've done some research, and I know that lycans strength is the same as a strongest machine."I saw him smirking while sitting in the front seat, "That's true, but… Why do you think our products are of top qualities?" I frowned at him."I don't even know any of Ezekiel's business other than the underground."Hunge
Schuyler's P. O. V.The lycans from above were howling after Ezekiel introduced me to everyone. The looks in their eyes were screaming danger as I looked at each of them, but no one dared to question Ezekiel's decision. Still, I'm certain that not most of them are loyal to him. Maybe, they're one those who are plotting against him for marrying me, a mere human in their eyes.As Ezekiel pulled me to sit in front of them, I saw Marisse giving me a meaningful look before she turned her back on us and left the room. I faced Ezekiel and touched his wrist."I-I need to use the restroom." I stood up from sitting again.Ezekiel narrowed his eyes on me before he slowly nodded and let me go. I turned my back on him before I carefully walked away. I thought for a moment there that he wouldn't let me go.As I left the room, I saw Marisse talking to someone, an old man and he only stopped when he spotted me coming towards them. I heard him respectfully excusing himself and he only walked past me.
Schuyler's P. O. V.As I walked back towards Ezekiel, I could feel the eyes of everyone around me. And just when I'm almost near him, I felt something bump in my legs and silence filled the room after some women gasped.I stopped and slowly looked down at my legs. There was a stain from a chocolate cake in my dress with a hand print of a little kid who's sitting on the floor right now and looking up at me with tearful eyes.I wanted to wipe my dress first and look more presentable in everyone's eyes, but I can't just ignore the child in front of me. The innocence in her eyes held me captive as I slowly kneel in front of her with a gentle look on my face."Hey, there.." I whispered to her before tucking her hair behind her ear. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you. Would you mind if I help you to get up?"I offered my hand to her, but she only looked at me with fear in her eyes. From behind her, I saw when Ezekiel started walking towards our direction. I helped the kid up just the same time a
Schuyler's P. O. V.Ezekiel licked his lower lip and my eyes were locked there for a moment before he slowly smirked at me. His eyes were twinkling with excitement and interest in them. As if I just said something he's expecting but looks stupid in his mind.I grimaced at him before looking away. Just by the menacing look in his eyes, I can already tell that he's never planning to help them in the first place and he only wants to hear my opinion. But what should I do? I can't just sit here and do nothing, but how can I do something when I know that I should be careful with my actions and no lycans here would side me.I felt when Ezekiel reached for my hand under the table. I glanced back at him and found how serious his face now looks."Want to go there?" He said in a low voice.Hunter looked surprised with his question, but it slowly disappeared after he averted his eyes on me. He took a step back to give us privacy and I focused my eyes on Ezekiel when I felt him squeezing my hand.
Schuyler's P. O. V."Are we going out?" I carefully asked Ezekiel while looking outside of the car's window. "I don't think we should—"My words were cut off as I heard a door opening and just as I turned my gaze to look at his side, Ezekiel closed the door behind him. I was about to ask Hunter when he quickly exited the car too and followed behind Ezekiel. They stopped in front of the car and were staring at something from below the bridge. As curiosity hit me, I slowly opened the door to follow them outside.Hunter took a step back as he distanced himself after seeing me approaching them. I stood beside Ezekiel and watched him with a dangerous look in his eyes. He looked so serious as he probably thought of something while looking somewhere. I slowly followed what he was looking at and I gasped loudly as I saw some lycans from below and in the middle of a field near a small lake, they were dragging unconscious people to the side by holding them in their feet.By the looks of it, it
Schuyler's P. O. V.Worry was visible in my face as I glanced at the window's reflection behind Ezekiel. I saw him clench his jaw before he took my phone and ended the call just before I could even take it back from him. "Ezekiel!" I growled at him before I tried to take my phone back.Ezekiel held both of my hands using only his right hand before he hid my phone in his pocket and faced me with a hard look in his eyes. I sighed before I leaned back to my seat while crossing my arms in my chest. I glanced out of the window and was not facing Ezekiel at all when I asked him."Alana… Where is she?" I seriously asked.Ezekiel didn't answer me, but I can feel his sharp stares piercing through me. I snapped at him with a glare."Answer me, Ezekiel! Where's Alana?" I saw him avoiding his gazes on me."You still care about the bitch, huh?" He scoffed. "Didn't he try to kill you?""You weren't there when she dragged me with her cousin. So, you probably don't know where she is now, right?" I g
Schuyler's P. O. V."Ezekiel." I held him by his wrist just as he was about to approach them. I shake my head at him after he averted his attention on me. "Just.. Let them go already." I pleadingly said. "It's not like they can do anything—Besides, you have their daughter, right? And even if you won't tell me if she's already dead or whatever you did to her, it won't be worth it if you will pay them more time for a mere threat, right?"Mere threat, Schuyler? What am I even saying? Knowing their family, they won't take me and my parents lightly, but I just don't want to add more fuel to the fire."Not worth it, you say?" Ezekiel asked with no emotion in his face. "Mere or not, it's a threat, Schuyler. Look around us," he motioned his head to the side. "Killers are everywhere. Mere or a serious one, a threat will always be meaningful in these people." He clenched his jaw and avoided his eyes on me. "And no one should ever dare threaten my wife under my watch."Ezekiel continues walking
Schuyler's P. O. V.A week after that, I received an unknown call at midnight. I took my phone from the bedside table before glancing at Ezekiel. He's still in deep sleep and he just looks so adorable for me to watch, but I had to answer the damn call before my husband woke up.While covering my naked body with a comforter, I answered the call."Who's this?" "What's with the voice? You sound sick." She laughed sarcastically. "Nah, more like you got laid tonight. Is your husband that good in bed?"I arched my brows as I heard a familiar voice, but I couldn't process who she was after hearing her words. Was it too obvious? I can feel my cheeks burning as I tightened the hold of the comforter."I don't have time for—""Easy there, Sky! We barely contacted each other." I heard her pouting her lips. "Can't you spend some time with me?"Sky?My eyes widened at the realization!"Damn! Irina?" I swear, I can tell that my eyes are widening in shock right now! "How the hell did you have my num
