I STEPPED out of the car and slipped my arm in Cole’s waiting one. As soon as I had agreed to meet his parents, he had given me exactly twenty minutes to get ready and all the while he was on his phone. And when I'd come out in the living room, and tied my heels, he’d disappeared into the bedroom and had come out dressed in a pair of black slacks and white shirt, looking like he had been all prepared even before I even suggested to meet his parents. Like it was all his plan from the very beginning. But I didn’t have time to dwell on it as I looked up at the building in front of me.

“Your father owns this?” I asked, my voice coming out small and unsure as I looked at the high rise building in front of me.

“Yeah.” He answered, adjusting the suit jacket that he had pulled out from the backseat.
