What the fuck!That dog is huge!".

Alyssia stood there staring with her mouth wide open. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. In normal cases this was the time to start freaking out. She didn't know if what she saw could be described as a mutated dog or a wolf. No! She quickly shook out the thought of the animal being a wolf.

The dog as she could see was covered with injuries that would put a serial killer to shame.

Its fur was pure white but could be said to be red now that it was covered with blood leaking all over its body.

Its head has a huge hash from its left eye to its nuzzle, its two hind legs looked like they were heavily fractured and from the intestines she could see leaking out from its stomach she could see it had a really serious wound at that area.

The first thing she thought was how could anyone be so wicked as to inflict the injuries on an animal.

Its intensified whimpers brought her back to present. She got down on her knees and gently reached out her hand to the dog. A part of her brain warned her that this was dangerous as a wonderful animal was unpredictable but she couldn't leave the animal in pains, something in her just couldn't do it. It seemed to draw her more to it.

She gently placed her hand on its head and was shocked at her soft and smooth its fur was even though it was covered in blood. She ran her hands gently through it fur. Surprisingly, it immediately calmed down and made little noises that sounded like it was enjoying it, she smiled and kept on stroking. Then it turned its head towards her she was dazed by the sight of it deep sapphire eyes. Something in her clicked and responded in her being. She didn't know why but she felt that taking it to the the hospital would only endure it. The dog kept staring at her and she felt uncomfortable as felt that the dog could see her secrets and her whole being.

The contest was broken when the dog whimpered again that's when she snapped into action. She didn't know how she was going to carry the dog to her house as it was really big for a dog and could be conspicuous to others who might end up calling animal services.

"Okay, big guy just lean on me and let's go" she hugged as she practically raised him and let him lean on her. It was a good thing that her house was close and she could use a short through the alley. She and the dog trodded painfully slowly to her house by the time they were almost there the dog had almost collapsed leaving a trail of blood on the floor and on her body but she didn't give up neither did she notice that her clothes were stained with blood.

At least they reached her house which was an apartment but thank goodness it was on the first floor she didn't think she could carry the dog up the stairs. Its not like she was superman or wonder woman she scored at herself.

She quickly opened the door and together with the dog she fell to the floor with a thud. With great difficulty she extracted herself from under the dog. She could see that it was exhausted and on the brick of death, which made her panic, what would she do with a giant dead dog.

"Oh no no no you are not dying on me okay. I'm going to treat you and make sure you become better again" she assured the dog and to her surprise it opened its eyes and looked at her as if it understood what she said. "weird, it seemed like you understood me just now".

She shook her head and quickly ran to her room and brought out her first aid box. It was a good thing shadow experience with treating wounds as she had worked in a hospital as a part time job. From her room she could hear it whining in pain and something slashed at her heart using her to quickly hurry. "I'm coming big guy" she whispered as she ran back to it.

She took a deep breath and brought out some rolls of bandages, spirit, cotton wool and a pair of scissors. To be honest she didn't know where to start as she had never treated and animal before. She tried to touch it stomach and it jerked roughly in pain which she could understand why but she tried again while whispering softly to it. It calmed down a little while she turned it over with difficulty. She almost ran to the bathroom to vomit as the sight of intestines was not someone would want to see at any normal scene. She stilled her heart "come on you've got this Alyssia" she tried to encourage herself.

There were some signs of mud at the edge area of the stomach wound so she used the spirit to cleanse the area first before putting antibiotics and the final step which was harder than she thought - bandaging the stomach area.

Mind you that this dog is huge so when she propped him up on the side of her body she could only matter to herself"what am I doing".

This could only be a case of dillisioned reality because at its full height she was just a tiny inch taller that it. By the time she was done bandaging,she was breathing really hard. Now was time for the part- fixing its legs good thing she knew a lot about fixing fractures so with a little yank on the hind legs everything went into place. And last but not the least she cleaned and bandaged the paws. If anyone saw the dog they would think it was wearing a pair of socks on its paws because she had banged everywhere leaving no room for air or infection.

Soon she was done. She was stuck between taking it to the bathroom to bath it or letting it sleep but the dog already decided because it fell asleep immediately as it lay its head on her lap.

Maybe due to exhaustion, she didn't bother to stand up and instead slept off cradling the dog's head. It was an eventful day so for the first time in a long while, Alyssia fell deeply asleep.

NACEN'S Pov

I have been ruuning, running for my life. I'm tired but I can't stop, if I do they will catch me and kill me. The goblins have been the enemies of my race "The werewolves". According to the legends our blood are very important to them as once they drink our blood they can evolve into more stronger bloodline. The higher the the strength and rank of the werewolf the more they are likely to get stronger.

My name is Nacen Klaus Carva.

The heir of the Redwood Wolf clan so in other words I am a prince.

As I ran through the forest trying to reach the town in front, I stumbled on a huge branch which I bet was put there by the goblins those filthy creatures. They attacked my clan just as I was about to have my mate searching ceremony. You see as the heir it is said that my mate won't be in my clan so I have to go out and search for her. According to my parents it is time for me to get a mate and if I don't s maybe would be chosen for me from the clan. And we were in the midst of the ceremony when we were attacked. We fought bravely but they seemed to be getting the upper hand and so the Alpha, my father told me as he fought against them bravely ""Son go, run and find your mate. Then you can rebuild our clan again""

I could see my mother bleeding in front of me and I didn't know what to do. I looked at him and I said hoarsely"I won't leave even if means to die here with you all" I was trying to be brave.

"Son you are the best alpha. Go and don't come back until you find a mate that's the only way to break the curse."

Curse? What curse. No one ever told me anything about a curse. But I received no chance to question as I was slashed across the stomach by something sharp. I shrieked in pain and immediately turned around and ran not looking back. I sense the goblins were behind me and so I shifted into my wolf form. A pure white wolf with sapphire eyes. This colour combo was the mark of a pure bloodline. I was in pains but I wasn't going to stop. I could here their growling and gnarling behind me.

I stopped when I saw that I was surrounded at all sides. They looked at me with bloodlust. I'm sure due to my pure bloodline I was a very suitable prey for them. Their sharp teeth and ugly appearance absolutely repulsed my wolf and so I decided if I was going to die, I Nacen Klaus Carva of the Redwood Wolves would not go down so easily. I put up a good fight and killed at least ten or more but l was already getting weak due to blood loss and they seemed to know that so they came at me all together and tore st my skin, my legs and my fur by the time I managed to free myself I was already covered in blood from head to toe. I was already a gonner but at that moment a bright line suddenly shone around me and it gave me strength to get up and run and it also destroyed the rest of the goblins.

I finally ran into town but collapsed at an alley behind a dumpster. At that moment I didn't know if I would be saved the only thing I could do was to whimper in pain. Then I heard a noise, I think it was someone crying but in my pain I couldn't care less. Something just made me to whimper more loudly and in a some minutes I could sense the presence of a human in front of me. Strangely her presence seems to calm me down as she knelt down to touch me. She smelled of jasmine and cake, delicious cake, the smell was so over powering that I raised my head to look at her and I got struck by the greenest most beautiful eyes ever. At that moment something in me clicked.

Mate. She was my mate. My mate is a human. My human. It wasn't common for a human to be mates to a werewolf but it wasn't rare either. She was very beautiful with eyes like the colour of nature and hair that was kissed by the sun. I stared and I couldn't look away. At that moment, I swore I would make her mine when I recovered.Anyway I'm a werewolf we heal quickly. I would have continued staring at her if it wasn't for the pain which kept on increasing in measure.

I don't know how she did it but she took me in my state to her house. Immediately we arrived I collapsed as the pain was unbearable. My intestines and my blood were all over the place. She quickly ran to her room to get something, I think first aid box. I know of it because we at our pack are very modernized, we can heal quickly but it doesn't mean we don't need it. Sometimes a wolf could be so injured that he won't begin to heal immediately.

I remembered when my parents would hold me as little pup when I got injured. Tears of pain, anguish and sorrow filled my eyes. I would make those goblin monsters pay for what they did to my clan. I still wondered what that mysterious light that savede earlier was.

She came a little later and looked at me and said something that gave me hope. "Oh Oh no no no you are not dying on me okay. I'm going to treat you and make sure you become better again" thatswhen i opened my eyes to look at her assuring her in my head that I won't die. Even if death came knocking I would run away or fight because I just found my mate and I am not letting go.

By the time she finished treating my injuries I was so dog tired (excuse the pun) that I fell asleep and I think that she was also tired because she let me put my head on her lap and than she fell asleep. Mind you, I fell asleep in my wolf form because she saw me as a dog and I was not in the risk of shifting while sleeping.

3rd Person narrative

Alyssia woke up to the feeling of something heavy on her lap. It was late evening, she could tell from the clock which said 7:24 pm. She felt all stiff as she had slept off on the floor in the sitting room. Her gaze dropped to the dog on her lap which continued to sleep peacefully. She wove her hands intricately into it fur and once again marveled at the fur's softness. It was still covered in blood but at least it looked more healthy. It felt strange but the feeling of wanting to keep on staring at the dog and touching it didn't want to go away.

"Why do you feel so normal and close to me when you are just a dog. " she mimbled softly as she stroke its headbeing careful of the area where she bandaged thegash in its eye area "Its not like you can understand human language".

She gently freezing herself from under it. She stood and stared at it, it felt weird to address it as "it" and seeing under the knew it was a "he" so she decided to address the dog as a he. Seeing the dog making no sign of being awake, she placed beside it a bowl of water and some meat. She prepared for herself a wicked bowl of cereal and went off to bed after taking a shower.

She flopped on the bed and quickly went to sleep, "strange I still feel sleepy after sleeping for some long" she sleepily muttered.

He stared at her hungrily with gaze filled with lust and longing. She shivered under his gaze as she felt it piercings into her soul. His deep sapphire eyes drew her in to his gaze, somewhere in her mind those eyes reminded her of someone she has helped.

He took a step closer that's when she realized with shock that he was naked as the day his mother gave birth to him. She couldn't take her gaze off him, his body screamed greek god sex machine. She never knew she would be able to see something so silly perfect. He was tall, taller than she was by a lot and so he tweaked over her. His skin was the perfect bronze making her think of caramel. She checked her phone to see what time it was which she found was just 4 in the morning. Since she couldn't sleep again, she got flicked the lights on and got off the bed.

Her room was small but cozy, painted in hazy blue with a perfect sized bed for her, a closet and a teasing desk.

She made herself some coffee and sat down at the dinning table to think about the crazy dream she just had. It was the weirdest and most sensual dream she could ever imagine. Up till now she could still see his perfect, greek god body and she could still feel the pleasure he brought to her. As hard as she tried she couldn't remember his face only his striking sapphire eyes which she couldn't take her mind off no matter how hard she tried. She left the dinning table and went over to where the dog lay asleep. It seemed to be having a nightmare as it was constantly whimpering softly. She was stuck between wondering if dogs dream and waking the dog. But glancing at the state of the dog she decided to wake him up. She kept down quietly and placed her hands on his furry head, as she ran her hands through his fur she marveled at the rich softball of his fur though it was soiled with blood. She never imagined that animal fur could be so soft and smooth and pleasant to the touch. She had always had the idea that fur was coarse and rough. Not that she hated animals, she liked them.

It seemed that he liked her touch as he calmed down and leaned more in to her touch and let out a small growl. She chuckled as he looked adorable. He turned his head and opened his eyes. As soon as she met his eyes she was once again pulled into his deep sapphire eyes. His eyes were just too striking for a dog. She had never imagined that a dog could possibly such beautifuleyes. The more she stared at him the more she felt like she was staring at a very intelligent and mysterious being.

Shaking her head, she stoked his head once more and giggled when she heard purring sounds from him. She ran her gaze through his tongue check if he was okay. He looked healthy without any sign of exhaustion on its body. She decided to give him a name. She didn't need to worry about the gender of the animal, she already knew it was a male. Funny that the person in her dream was a male and this dog was a male. Was this dog a sign that she was finally going to meet someone and leave behind her loneliness? She felt puzzled by the whole thing. She knew deep in her that this dog was a sign of something, she just didn't know what.

"OK big guy, since you're gonna be stuck with me how about I call you husky" the dog apparently didn't like it growled at her.

"OK fine ugh.." She was seriously jacking her brain for a good name.

"Aha how about Wolfie. You can't say no to Wolfie"she smiled at him"because you look like a wolf".

There, he liked the name because he licked her hands like a loving dog. She smiled the more. It seems like her life was going to be a little more happier now that he was around.

"OK Wolfie it is. Time for a bath".

An hour later and thoroughly soaked, Alyssia flopped down exhaustedly on the floor looking at the dog that was finally clean. She sat gaining at its pure white fur. It was so dazzling and white. She had made sure to avoid the bandage areas had meticulously scrubbed the other areas. She wondered what breed it was mixed with to get such a certain colour of fur.

By 7 in the morning,she had already fed Wolfie, taken her bath and dressed for class this time in a black jeans, white shirt and a pair of black sneakers.

She had three lectures today, the first being at 8 but she wanted to get an hour headstart to avoid what happened in class the other day from happening again. As she left, she locked the door carefully to avoid strangers getting in and Wolfie getting out. But before she left, she made sure there was enough food and water for Wolfie then gave him a quick kiss on the head.
