Jace Herondale

The heart is a strange and amazing muscle and we all can't live or love without it, but most people don't think about it often. We don't think about the steady, faithful organ that beat one hundred thousand times a day. Most people have no idea that a woman’s heartbeat is faster than a man’s by about eight beats per minute, or that its four chambers pumps blood to every cell in the body except for the corneas.

Yet it can be a pesky little nuisance at times, Making us feel things we don't want to feel or say and do things we've never planned on. And lately, it has been the source of all my problems. But at this exact moment, the heart isn't what am concerned about. It's a body part further south.

Am a sexual man I love vaginas. I really do. But staring into the mouth of one old enough to belong to my grandmother isn't my idea of an exciting evening for me. It's the worst way to spend my evening but it's still my job.

Hera Lightwood My palms are sweaty, legs giddy as streams of excitement rush and fill my lungs, my face pressed against the cool glass of the window as the taxi slows down in front of the biggest building I've ever seen. I tip my head back as far as I can, and I can just barely see the top. It must have twenty stories, maybe more. I've never seen anything like it before.Back home, you can look out for miles in any direction and only see rolling fields, cows, and crops of corn. The center of town is made up of a few mom-and-pop shops. There’s the grocery store, the drug store, a small library, a coffee shop and bakery. There's one elementary school, and one high school that houses every child aged twelve to eighteen. It's a small town where everybody knows everybody and being in the moment and far away from home makes me realize how far have gone from that country life ..I feel like I'm on another dimension entirely. I've seen images of the big city in magazines and movies over the

Jace Herondale“So, let me get this straight. You're saying that you might not be able to control yourself around me? Huh! Am I getting that right?”I say grinning, the pleasure of seeing her face go red Infront of me sends blood rushing through my groin..I hold back my smirk, giving her a deadpan stare.Hera scoffs, her pretty catlike green eyes exploding open as she exclaims “What? No! That's not what I'm saying at all.” Her cheeks flush radiating the sexiest shade of red, and her hands are wrangling each other at her waist.“I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you mean” I say arrogantly as I walk past her, purposely brushing the side of her arm with my shoulder. “I mean, honestly, I can't be responsible for what you try to do.”I whisper huskily as I open the fridge, completely aware of the shock and embarrassment on her face.Taunting her and seeing the embarrassment mixed with desire in her eyes seems to be my new found hobby!!She's staring at me like I'm insane for even mention

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 26: A Handjob

Jace HerondaleAt the mall, I’d stocked up on socks, underwear, jeans, and some long-sleeved pullovers. I grabbed a second pair of shoes too. When my place was ransacked by that crazy maniac I’d been at class, which meant my only surviving possessions had been the clothes on my back, plus my backpack and laptop. Friends had loaned me things, and although the insurance check hasn't come in yet, so it's time to restock with essentials.I went to a mega-center, one of those places open twenty-four hours, and I got some pillows, sheets, towels, shampoo, bodywash, a couple of disposable razors, and a new electric toothbrush. As I walked by a display of fresh flowers, an idea struck me. I picked up a big bouquet of wildflowers, then headed off... Tossing a package of chocolates and treats in my cart, I grinned wryly. Maybe this was all part of being a good roommate. Then again, maybe I wanted to fuck her more than I want to admit to myself. Shaking the thoughts away, I headed off to the ch

Hera LightwoodI can't, I just can't with this guy.I'm standing in my new room, my hands on my hips with my heart still pounding and beating rapidly inside my chest. It's a strange mix of desire and anger. I'm not sure what to do with it.It's just day One....One freaking day with him!And am already feeling this way, why did I suddenly have the urge to go pee?”I thought to myself mentally groaning as i dragged my hair out of my head frustratingly..Which by the way hurts like hell...Jace, Jace.....I still don't know which word to use to describe him yet!!!Day one and already nothing is going as planned. I thought a lot of different things about doing this, and now I'm questioning all of it.How the hell am I going to survive with this guy here for lord knows how long? Especially if it turns out gray jogging pants and him being practically naked are his everyday attire. I'll never be able to look at him without my eyes wanting to drop to the bulge between his legs.I run open pal

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 28: Tempted

Hera Lightwood's P.O.V.The sound of a loud beep rouses me awake. I sit up quickly and lash out to strike the alarm on the nightstand that isn't going off. It's not the alarm making that noise, it's a car on the street below. It's seven in the morning, the sun is shining bright through the open windows. From up here, it almost feels like home—almost. I climb out of bed and walk to the window. Looking out straight, the bright blue sky, the thick puffy clouds rolling by, and with the sun still rising over the horizon.I drop my eyes down, finding my new life in the busy morning street. It's a totally different world. With my forehead pressed to the glass, cars and buses are coming and going in both directions, people are moving like working bees, zipping by on bikes, and walking with their phones glued to their ears.A sliver of fear mixes with excitement. This is nothing like my life before. Everything is moving, constantly making noise with no down time. I'm afraid I won't like this n

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 29: Distraction

Jace Herondale's P.O.V.I place my hands on my chest and lay back on the bed. I'm looking up at the ceiling, but my eyes keep shifting to the door. She's right there. Right across the hall. Two steps are basically all that separate us.I should have just gone for it. Why the hell didn't I?There was a split second where I thought she was going to come to me, but she didn't. She shied away and retreated her bedroom. . . Her bedroom that's right there. Her room that she's laying in, maybe in some cute nightie with naked legs and a bra-less chest. My dick thickens as I picture her in tiny little shorts that her ass hangs out of, and a tank-top with no bra. Beaded nipples poking against the fabric as she runs a single finger up between her tits to her mouth to nibble on her nail.I grip my dick and adjust the hard muscle. I fucking want her. I want her so damn bad, but I know shouldn't. Isabelle would be so pissed if she found out we slept together. I know this like I know the sky is blue

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 30: Control

Jace Herondale's P.O.V.So after many days of tiptoeing around eachother, the sexual tension. They still tried to live together and now they're trying to have dinner like any normal roommate.Although pretty sure they're anything from normal! But that still doesn’t tell me why medicine.”Hera placed her elbows on the table, leaning closer.“I knew from an early age that one day I’d have to carry on the family legacies. It was the only thing I was sure of. But I didn't just want my family's legacies, yes I have a responsibility. I guess subconsciously I chose a field where taking care of others was the focus and making a name for myself.Smiling at me fondly, Hera twirled a piece of her shiny blond hair between her fingers. “Were you always such a good kid, a serious student.”“Don’t patronize me. I was a nerd.” I set my napkin beside my now empty plate. She laughed, and I couldn’t help but smile. “I didn’t say that.”“That’s only because you were trying to be nice.”She shrugged. “It’s

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 31: Indecision

Hera Lightwood's P.O.V.When I woke up, I was sure last night had just been a bad dream. Then I swung my legs over the side of the bed and saw the champagne bottle and glass on my floor, frowning as memories of last night clawed at the edges of my brain. I steeled myself and tiptoed into the hall. The house was totally quiet. Jace's bedroom door was mostly shut, and I rushed past it. A Post-it note was stuck to the coffeemaker, Jace's messy handwritten scrawled across the paper. We need to talk.Four little words shouldn’t have had the ability to make me break out in hives, but when the reality of last night came crashing back, I had to grip the counter for support. I had actually seriously propositioned him for sex. This was the reality I had to deal with now. Hanging my head in my hands, I inhaled deeply. If I could stay in my room and hide all day, I would. But then my new dog let out another whimper.“Okay. Come on, buddy.” I grabbed his leash and slipped my feet into my shoes, a

YOU KNOW THOSE DAYS when your own life feels too dull and you just want to get laid by a hot stranger? I’m having one of those days. Most times I ignore the urge and move on, but today I’m indulging myself. The guy who just walked into the bar is drop dead sexy. I’m not the only woman in the room to notice him; two women in business dress at a table close nearby look his way too, and the brunette waitress collecting glasses pauses to give him the once over, and then the twice over. I don’t blame her. He’s not regular hot. Lots of guys are that, but this one has that special something that turns him into an eye magnet. You know what I mean, right? He isn’t necessarily the most classically handsome man in the room, and not usually the loudest, but he’s always the one you’d pick to take home, if you happened to be in the mood to pick a stranger up in a bar.Which, as luck would have it, I am.This isn’t something I do often; very rarely in fact, once a year at most. I kicked work to the

Are you almost ready?”” he asks.“Just about. I need one second.”“For what?” Jace asks as he closes his suitcase.“I told Isabelle I'd call her once we got here.” Jace rolls his eyes and lets his body sluggishly fall to the couch. “Stop it, it'll be quick. I promise,” I say, pouting my bottom lip.“Quick. . . right. You know my sister, nothing is ever quick with her.” Jace spreads out on the couch and pulls the bright orange decorative pillow under his head. “Wake me up when you're done.”I giggle as I pull my phone out and call Isabelle. Pressing the phone to my ear, I look out the window and wait for her to answer. The city is absolutely beautiful.Trees are blooming with big pink flowers all the way down the sidewalk as far as I can see. I can smell the floral scent in the room. The sky is clear and there are people everywhere, enjoying the gorgeous weather.“Finally!” she yells into the phone as she answers. “I thought you guys were dead.”“Dead? We were on a six-hour flight. • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 38: Ultimatum

Hera Lightwood's P.O.V.I should have felt embarrassed being around Jace now. He’d seen me at my worst, and while it had sucked, he’d handled it so professionally that I barely gave it a second thought. And he’d been right. Once I got on the medication, things cleared up quickly, and I was now as good as new.Jace had been so sweet and attentive all week long that I almost didn’t want to burst his illusion that I was still under the weather. We hadn’t spoken of it, which was fine by me. I didn’t think there was a non-awkward way to say, “My vagina’s all better now.” So it was best to not say anything at all. We’d eaten dinner together every night, each of us taking turns at the cooking, and he cleaned up the kitchen while I walked the dog.. We fell into an easy rhythm, watching TV together at night until bedtime, when we hugged and went our separate ways. But tonight, I wasn’t tired. It was half past ten when we’d gone to bed, and I’d been lying here awake for an hour. I knew a cup of

Jace HerondaleJace was kissing me. Deep, drugging kisses that made my toes curl. But then he pressed into me again, pushing my thighs apart, gripping my hips and plunging forward, and I forgot about everything else. The sensation of him entering me was unlike anything else. And the look of determined concentration on his face, like he was almost in pain with how good it felt? I understood that exactly. It was almost too much to bear. His every movement was controlled, each one designed to bring me maximum pleasure. I never wanted this to end.“Has anyone ever fucked you like this?”“No. Never.” That was the honest truth. He was so deep and so possessive, so vocal, commanding my attention and demanding submission. It was like fitting a key into a locked box.Watching his thick length spear me—part me, plunge deep inside and then withdraw, wet with our juices—was almost obscene. When he bottomed out, I ground my hips against his pelvis, lost to the sensation. Isabelle’s brother fucked

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 36: Scandalous Morning

Jace Herondale's P.O.V.I woke up with a face full of hair and a massive erection. The hell?Combing back the honey-colored tresses with my fingers, I blinked open one eye and saw that I was still in bed with Hera. I’d fallen asleep listening to her deep, steady breaths, enjoying the closeness long after I should have moved to my own room. It usually took me forever to unwind enough to fall asleep after a shift, but lying there in the darkness and listening to her breathe, I was able to break through the day’s tension and just relax. But what had started innocently, with me on top of the blankets, somehow had ended with me stripped down to my boxer briefs and under the covers with Hera. I had no idea what time it was, only that it was barely daylight. The T-shirt she’d slept in had ridden up to expose her pink cotton panties printed all over with little donuts, complete with colorful sprinkles.A wry smile tugged at my mouth. She was sexy without even trying. Most women weren’t sexy f

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 35: Conflicted Feelings

Jace HerondaleIt shouldn’t have, but Hera going out on that date really pissed me off. I knew I had little right to be angry; she didn’t owe me anything, and I’d barely even seen her in the week since our near miss. But I couldn’t help the jealous rage that boiled through my veins when I found her on the porch with that guy. And when I thought he’d hurt her? I wanted to pummel his face in. I still didn’t know if it was like she’d claimed, that they’d just bumped heads when he tried to kiss her, but Hera had never lied to me, as far as I knew.On my drive to the hospital, I called to check on Isabelle to check how she was doing. Maybe sooner or later I'll have to tell her about Hera, My life these days consisted of obligations. I worked, slept, hit the gym, studied, checked in on my mom and sister, worked some more. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. I knew there was a purpose, knew there was a reason I was doing this, but fuck, some days it was hard to remember what that reason was.Tonight the

Hera Lightwood's P.O.V.After Isabelle intrusion that night things has been awkward, Isabelle just got back to Boston but she left already saying she's moving to stay with their mother and help run the company. She had business in Boston so she decided to drop by and her spontaneous sweet visit cock blocked Me and her brother. Anyways after that night jace told me we would talk about a redo..But he'll be bombed with work for the next week, I thought be was exaggerating but he hadn’t been lying when he’d said I wouldn’t see much of him this week. It was Thursday and our paths had crossed only twice while he was coming and going. He worked all night at the hospital, then slept all day. We occasionally left each other Post-it notes around the house, silly little things like the strict orders I gave him to stay away from my Chinese leftovers, or the note he’d left letting me know we were out of almond milk but he’d pick up more. While I was busy not seeing Jace, it gave me time to stew o

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 33: A Porno On Pause

Hera LightwoodAs I sat there listening to the spray of the shower, my jitters multiplied. Jace was barely ten feet from me, readying himself for our agreed-upon sexual encounter, but now I felt more unsure than ever.Last night when I’d challenged him—called him out on his cocky opinion that after just one night, women fell hopelessly in love with him—I’d felt sexy, brazen, emboldened by the alcohol, spurred on by the illicit undertones of our late-night conversation. Now, stone-cold sober and with nothing to do all day but think it over, I no longer felt fun and flirty. Every negative possible consequence had replayed through my brain for hours.Isabelle would probably never speak to me again if I seduced her brother. Was I really willing to ruin my friendship for a couple of good orgasms? And besides that,. Or rather, I was too young for him. I’d probably disappoint him in the bedroom with a lackluster performance. And what if what he said was true—that he was so amazing in bed, I’

  • His Secret Obsession    Chapter 32: Choice

Jace Herondale's P.O.V.Have you decided yet?” Dr. Stinson asked, standing beside me.I looked down at the options again and frowned. Turkey meat loaf or lasagna. If I was going to rock Hera’s world tonight, I wanted to eat light. I didn’t want a stomach full of heavy food to impact my performance.“I might just hit the salad bar,” I said, turning to see if the offerings looked wilted.Dr. Stinson chuckled. “I wasn’t asking if you’d decided on dinner. I meant your specialty. You have a clear talent for setting the opposite sex at ease. You’d make a great women’s care practitioner.”Grabbing a tray from the stack, I followed him to the salad bar. “I’ve been thinking more about, uh . . .”The first thing that jumped into my mind was cardiology. That was what I’d said when Hera had asked. But that was Dr. Stinson’s specialty, and I knew if I said that, he’d start talking my ear off. And I really wanted a break from intense career discussions right now.“Plastic surgery,” I finally blurte
