The city was bustling with activity as we made our way through it. I marveled at the buildings we passed, stunned by just how good they truly looked. Although New York had been my home for almost all my life, there were certain parts of the city I have never been to not because I didn't want to but because they were not part of our territory.

The city had been divided up, long before I was born by the main crime families of the underworld- people like my great grandfather. Each of them had their own territories in which they ruled whereas the smaller gangs also had their own areas that were answerable to the larger, more powerful families.

This meant that we could not pass through certain areas, unless given express permission by those who rule that area. Neutral territories were also a given in our world, places where we interacted without any conflict.
