*** Manhattan, New York Alessandra The drive to our next destination was silent, neither one of us conversing with each other or trying to make the moment we were in any less awkward. Only the sounds of the Mclaren P1's impressive engine vented the car within, making me smile inwardly. *** Manhattan, New York Alessandra I opened the door with a little more flourish than was probably necessary but I did not let that make me falter, especially when my husband and I's eyes met as he paused his journey towards this same room. *** Upper East Side, New York Alessandra The city was bustling with activity as we made our way through it. I marveled at the buildings we passed, stunned by just how good they truly looked. Although New York had been my home for almost all my life, there were certain parts of the city I have never been to not because I didn't want to but because they were not part of our territory. The city had been divided up, long before I was born by the main crime families of the underworld- people like my great grandfather. Each of them had their own territories in which they ruled whereas the smaller gangs also had their own areas that were answerable to the larger, more powerful families.
