60: Baby

The couple walked back to the house hand in hand. They had spent some time kissing and talking, then went down to use the swing. It was darker now. The sun had gone down, painting the sky in warm colours. 

Hana giggled when Kyle nudged her with his hip. 

“Baby,” she murmured, her cheeks flaming red. 

It was no news that she had never had a boyfriend or any relationship with the other gender. Perhaps that was why her cheeks lighted up each time she let out the pet name. But she didn’t want to stop. They were close to the back door when he lifted and swung her midair. Her head fell back with laughter and contentment as she took in the garden, court, and treehouse upside. 

Happiness swelled in her chest when she locked her arms around his waist. “I like you.”

“I like you more,” he said. He set her down at the foot of the stairs. She knew this door led to the kitchen. “Do you want us t
