“I don’t understand why you are still thinking of that? Xavier's frustration hung heavy in the air, a palpable weight mirroring the despair I felt for his situation. After our baby girl Aurora was born, Xavier became even more protective of us. He couldn’t stand the sight of us in misery or trouble. Her vaccinations or our routine check ups seemed like hell to him.

“I met Nina at the park yesterday, in the evening.”

“Nina?”

“Yeah, she is Augustus’s mate.”

“Okay..?” He dragged on, asking his unsaid question.

“They lost their eight month old son. To them.” Xavier’s hold tightened involuntarily on Aurora and I smiled sadly at him. “That’s when I felt like doing something for them. Again. He doesn’t deserve this, but his pack need not suffer on his behalf. Unless you agree to this, I shall not take any decisions.” I smiled and raised my toes, dropping a kiss on his cheek. He wrapped his arm around me and we stayed like that, our heartbeats mingling.

The rest of the day was spent in a blur

Do you have any cute names to ship the couple? How's Aurora? I am such a fan of her.

She was here. I couldn’t contain my smile nor could my wolf. He wanted to take over and bask in her scent but I pushed him away, not wanting to lose control.“Everything is ready for you. We have been waiting for this moment.” I was waiting for you. I wanted to add that, but did not want to sound desperate. She nodded and turned towards Xavier. Her baby, cooed in her father’s arms, taking in the surroundings.“Is it a–”“Aurora. Our daughter.” Our daughter. I wished so.“She is beautiful.”“That she is. Which is why stay out of our lives and keep your interactions to a minimum.” Her husband snapped. I wanted to retort back, but kept mum.“The house you have given us needs to be secured by your warriors at all times. And I want them in a rotation. None of them must be stagnant, getting any idea or be a spy to you.” Her voice was cold, devoid of any emotion. Not even a tinge of warmth.“That shall be arranged. No one shall spy on you.” I assured her.“Let it be so. If I or my family eve

“This place looks better than what we had last time.” Xavier spoke, entering the hall. It was fully furnished and looked more secure.“But this is not home honey.” I added, carrying Aurora in my arms who was looking at everything wide-eyed. Sometimes I wish I had the ignorance of a child. Carefree and relieved.“No Ari, it is not home, but we shall try making it one.” He walked towards me and caressed my cheek. Aurora enjoyed the warmth, giggling and fidgeting between us.“No Xavier. I don’t want to. I am afraid that if I get too comfortable here, I might lose sight of danger. I don’t want us to be in any peril of any sort.” He chuckled and kissed our foreheads.“Fine. But don’t blame me for being happy here. My home is with me.” He looked at us affectionately and I realized what he meant. His wedding vow.His home would be me, so would be his destiny.“Then I have my home with me too.” I added. He smiled softly. Our moment was broken by a knock on the door. We turned behind to see K

The morning was a silent one. I contemplated between going out and confronting the guards and staying put in my place, letting the vibrations wave off.In the midst of this, I made breakfast, added touches to the house, took a shower and put on some makeup to distract myself.Xavier woke up a bit later, with our baby girl in his arms. She was adorable just like him with messy hair and sleep laded faces.I took her from him, after giving him his coffee. Black. Just like yesterday. What was wrong with me?Aurora got ready for her day, brushing and washing her up, changing her clothes and diaper. I gave her breakfast which she ate with her dad, offering

I walked away from there, hanging my head in shame. How long will you keep letting her down? I didn’t know if it was my wolf or my subconscious which taunted me.That said, her final question haunted me too.I had never made up my mind to tell her. I didn’t know why I even told her. All I wanted was to find a place in her good books, but that seemed like a far fetched dream, right now. Nicholas was silent on the way back to the pack house and I was glad for the silence. “Install the cameras and let me know. Don’t even leave a pot. No one must sense a blind spot.” He nodded wordlessly and got back to work. Pouring myself a glass of whiskey, that gladly burned my throat like my burning heart, I sat down. Her words, her accusations, the disappointment in her face did something to me. What did I manage to do all these years? Am I a good man? Am I a good wolf? Are my people happy? My chest tightened when I realized that I was a bad and mean alpha. Do the people even trust me?Kane walked

“What does that mean?” I stood up from my place and turned to face her.She rolled her eyes at me. “I think it means what it means. I don’t have a wolf.”“How? Why?” There were no right questions. Every werewolf has a wolf. Having sex with a human doesn’t make it disappear. And I knew that she had a wolf. My wolf recognised hers when she turned 18.“Sora died protecting me. She took away all the pain of the rejection that was inflicted. One of us would perish given the amount of pain. She gave up herself.” She spoke.Xavier wrapped his arm around her and she leaned in. It seemed like he knew about all of this and was okay with it. What k

Nervousness?Anxiousness?Scared? These didn’t even compare to what I was feeling inside. I was shit scared. Fucking shitting sacred.Xavier was trying his best to cheer me up. He and Aurora dressed in cute bear costumes, acting so adorable that I was teary eyed. Xavier complained that he was trying to make me happy but it misfired. I did tell him those were happy tears but he didn’t believe me. What was I scared of?Everything.I knew that I said that I was interested in anything, but that was not true. I knew that the moment I was declared as the Luna, there was no going back. I would do my best to fulfill the role of a Luna. I may not rule beside him from the same throne, but I would definitely have to interact with him. “What is that that bothers you?” Xavier held my hand, stopping me from pulling out all the strings in the pillowcase.“Everything.”“Tell me one by one.” He placed a pillow on his lap and pulled it closer to his chest. He was all ready to listen what I was about t

She lost consciousness. The moment her body began to fall back, and I quickly held her, lifting her up in my arms. Her neck was bleeding badly and it didn’t look like it would stop anytime soon. Shane moved from the couch and I placed her on the couch. Her hands fell limp to the side and I placed them on her stomach comfortably. The doctor was quick to take a look at her. He placed thick cotton pads on her neck, absorbing the blood and preventing the overflow. I grabbed her hand in mine while caressing her cheek with the other. Color began draining from her face. Lucas was behind me, hovering like an annoying bee, waiting to see what was happening.“I am going to stitch her up. It looks like she is losing too much blood.” I nodded, giving him my approval and turned around and glared at him.“What were you thinking?” I barked. “I didn’t mean to hurt her. The mark is supposed to be made that way. I am sorry.” His apology made no difference. If not, it made me even more angry at him.“Ca

I was falling, falling into an abyss. Before I could hit the bottom and die, someone caught my hand, yanking me upward with an effortless pull. The darkness around me shattered, replaced by blinding light. My feet hit solid ground, but I stumbled, disoriented.A garden? Maybe. The air was thick with the scent of blooming flowers, their petals swaying in a gentle breeze. The grass beneath me was so green it looked unreal, like the fresh crayon in a child's coloring set. Birds chirped overhead, their melodies weaving through the rustling leaves. Somewhere in the distance, the steady rush of a waterfall filled the air, its mist catching the golden sunlight. The entire world around me shimmered—like something out of a dream, or maybe a Korean mythology drama."You are finally here."The voice was soft yet commanding, carrying an ethereal hum, like the first note of a song yet to be sung.I turned, squinting against the sunlight, and my breath hitched. She floated above the ground, her long

The scent of blood was the first thing that hit me when I woke up.It wasn’t strong. Not overwhelming. But it was there — metallic, raw, a whisper of death floating on the morning breeze.I sat up immediately, every muscle in my body tensing. Saya stirred inside me, her hackles rising.Something was wrong.I threw on a jacket over my clothes, not bothering to tie my hair, and rushed out of my tent. The camp was buzzing, warriors moving swiftly, the air heavy with tension. Lucas spotted me from across the clearing and hurried over, his face grim.“What happened?” I demanded before he could even speak.“Attack,” he said shortly, eyes scanning the

The darkness around me wasn’t cold or terrifying. It was warm. Comforting. Like sinking into a pool of velvet night, weightless, endless. I floated there, unsure if I was sleeping or dreaming or perhaps… dying. But then a soft sound echoed—a howl, low and sorrowful, yet filled with fierce love. I turned toward it instinctively. From the shadows, a figure emerged. Familiar. So painfully familiar it made my chest ache. Saya.My wolf. My soul. But she was different now.Her fur was no longer the dusky brown I remembered. It was pure white, gleaming like snow under moonlight. Each hair shimmered faintly, as though carrying stardust within it. Her eyes were still the same—those beautiful, soulful golds—but t

The walls of the tent felt like they were closing in on me. Ryan whimpered in my arms, tiny fists waving helplessly as he searched for comfort I wasn’t sure I could give. I cradled him closer to my chest, trying to rock him back to sleep. His body was so small, so fragile it terrified me. Every breath he took was a small miracle, a tiny battle fought and won.I brushed a kiss to his forehead, breathing in the soft, sweet scent of him—milk, baby powder, and something uniquely his own. Outside, the camp buzzed with movement. I could hear the warriors sparring again, could hear the council arguing strategies in low, urgent voices. There was no time to rest. No time to feel. But I couldn’t switch it off.Tears pricked my eyes as I pressed my cheek against Ryan’s fine, dark hair. I was supposed to lead them. I was supposed to be strong.

The training field smelled of sweat, dust, and raw determination. I stood at the edge, arms folded loosely across my chest, watching as warriors clashed and fell, got up, and clashed again. The air was thick with grunts and the rhythmic clatter of bodies hitting the ground. Across the open ground, banners of other packs fluttered in the sharp breeze. Wolf packs I hadn’t seen in years—some who had once been enemies, some who had disappeared into the rogue lands—had come back. Answering our call for help.It should have made me feel stronger. Safer. But all I felt was this hollow, gnawing ache.Lucas was across the field, organizing sparring matches, his voice steady and commanding. His presence was a steady rock in t

The council chamber buzzed with a low, tense energy, the kind that seeped into your skin and made your heart pound faster even when you were sitting still. I leaned forward, resting my forearms on the heavy oak table, fingers interlaced tightly. Ariana sat across from me, a thick folder of maps and reports open before her. Her face was calm, but her fingers trembled slightly as she turned a page.No one could blame her. We were planning a war.Around us, the council members—heads of the strongest families and allied packs—were murmuring, exchanging notes, pointing at strategic points on the giant map sprawled across the table.“We need to cut off their supply routes here,” Marcus said, jabbing his finger at a narrow valley south of the Darkpine Forest. “Otherwise, they’ll corner us.”“They’re vampires. They don’t need supplies. They just need blood,” snarled Liam, his voice rough. “They’ll feast on our people if we don’t stop them.”Ariana flinched slightly at that, and my heart twist

I could see the frozen expression on Ariana’s face, as Aurora called me ‘Dada’. I don’t think she was expecting this. Hell, even I wasn’t expecting this. And I don’t even know why she called me ‘Dada’ in the first place.Silence settled over the room after that one word escaped Aurora’s lips.Dada.The weight of it slammed into me harder than any blow I’d ever taken on the battlefield. And for a second—for a long, raw second—I didn’t know what to do.Ariana’s hand was still curled around mine, her fingers trembling slightly. I could feel her gaze on me, searching, waiting. Aurora, blissfully unaware of the way she had just cracked open an entirely new world between us, continued to cling

Do you ever wish to freeze some moments in life? Capture them in a box or pack them in a bag and always keep them with you?I was feeling like that today. In spite of everything that happened—Xavier’s betrayal, the deterioration of my health, the premature birth of Ryan, and the tension of the upcoming war—I was at peace. A rare, still kind of peace. It wasn’t the aching silence of emptiness I’d been carrying with me for so long. It wasn’t the cruel kind of quiet that comes after someone slams the door and never returns. No, this was a tender silence. A comforting one. It didn’t feel like a void anymore.I didn’t think I could ever fill that hole Xavier left behind. I used to believe that no matter how much I tried, no matt

Another irritating beep woke me up. I tried to shut it out and fall back asleep, but it continued to pierce through my head, making it impossible to ignore. I shifted slightly, wanting to find the source and end the noise, but as I attempted to sit up, a warm, firm hand on my right shoulder gently pushed me back down.“You need to rest,” a familiar masculine voice said, quiet and careful. My eyes squinted open, vision still hazy and blurry. “Why?” I mumbled groggily.“You just had surgery,” he replied softly. “You’re not allowed to exert yourself.”Surgery? It hit me like a crashing wave—surgery, the C-section, blood, panic...

I ran. My feet pounded the hospital floor, heart hammering in my chest, lungs burning with the ache of holding too much fear, too many thoughts. She had been fine just hours ago. Weak, yes. Tired, definitely. But not… not this. Not cut open on a surgical table, unconscious, drained, fragile. Not barely clinging to consciousness while her son—her son—fought for every breath of his first moments in a cold, clinical world.I turned the corner and slammed into the ICU doors, shoving them open, startling a nurse in blue scrubs. I didn’t apologize. Couldn’t."Where is he?" I asked, voice shaking despite my Alpha command. "Where is my son?"My son. Yes. Xavier might have been his true father, but I was his father. He was my son.
