Marietta’s POV

Why do I feel so drawn to him?

I wanted to kiss him so badly. But why can't I?

He's also a part of the Sterlings. And Jackson's brother.

What if he is lying? What if all these are staged?

With my eyes boring into his, and his gaze on my lips.

I pulled back a little. I'm not this cheap.

I won't sell myself to these people because of my present situation.

“I can’t do this,” I said.

Taking another step, I shook my head in fear.

“I'm sorry. I can't do this.” I heaved a sigh.

Trying to reach for the door. His next words made me stop in my tracks.

“I've always loved you since High school.”

Did he just say he has been in love with me since high school?

Highschool?! Here I was following Michael and giving him all the attention.

“Why didn't you say anything?” I asked.

Taking my hand off the doorknob I bit my lips softly.

“Why did you love me?” I whispered softly.

“Because you are the only one who cares about me while everyone treats me like dirt!” He yelled.

Marietta’s POV The rays of the sun lit the whole room as I yawned tirelessly. Where am I? Memories from last night came crashing. “I slept with Gloria? Fuck! What was I thinking?” I ran my hands through my hair. Frustration sets in as I look beside me to see that my valuables have been stolen. “She took my Cartier wristwatch. My necklace and even my suit?” I muttered to myself. I should have known. There was something fishy about her. She had only left my phone. For one reason or the other. I don't know why. My phone started to buzz as notifications started to come in. [Mr. Whitmore, the whole staff members have concluded. And we won't be working for you anymore. Best wishes] “They can't be serious?” I muttered to myself. Getting off the bed. I made my way out of the room. It was then I realized I was in a hotel. “Gloria!” I seethed. I dashed out of the hotel room and made my way outside. “My car? She went with it too?” I gasped. I've lost everything once again. My i

Marietta's POV “Please save my daughter. She's all I have,” I cried out. Watching the nurses taking in my daughter's unconscious body inside. I broke down in tears as I ran alongside them. Pushing the stretcher with them. “Please, save her.” I cried out. Just as I watched them push her into the theater room, Bella called from behind. “Hey, sweet,” “Bella!” I ran towards her and burst into tears. “I killed her. My daughter…” “Hey, you didn't. She will be fine. Trust me. The doctors here are good.” Bella comforted me. What would I have done without Bella? Being a single mother from a very small age. Having to suffer for years before reaching the peak of my career. Now Gloria wants me and my daughter dead. Just because he wanted my ex? “Have you heard the news?” Bella asked. Quickly wiping off my tears I sniffed hard. “I know my daughter's news is all over the place. Bella, what should I do?” I asked. Marietta’s POV With Clara still fidgeting, I knew she wasn't done. In a day, I've lost a child, my first love, and even my staff. I have Gloria and Katty threatening my existence. What else could I possibly be leaving for? “Is there something else left you want to say, Clara?” “I–” “Go on. I'm listening,” I shut my eyes. With Bella's hand holding me firm. I waited for Clara to speak. “You've been framed for reckless drinking and driving,” Clara concluded. A headache struck me instantly. Almost tripping me off my balance. I held Bella tighter, as my visions became a bit blurry. It was okay enough that the Sterlings conspired against me. “Bella, they've taken all I have,” I whispered. Trying so hard to reason everything Clara had just spoken to my hearing. My heart failed me. And my head ached more. If only the tumor could kill me right now. “Marietta!” Bella called. But it was too late. I had already lost my consciousness. ******The funeral day came faster than expe

Marietta’s POV “What do you say?” He asked again. I was about to respond when I heard Bella’s footsteps. I quickly hung up and pretended nothing happened. I was shivering so badly that Bella had to get me some of her clothes. “Here,” she stretched the cup of coffee towards me. “Thanks,” I gently placed the cup of coffee on the table while I changed into a new set of dry clothes. I watched Bella aim for the room, and the next minute, she was back with a hair dryer. “Your hair is wet.” She broke the silence. “Thanks,” was all I could say. The silence continued for a long time. And only the air dryer alone was the sound that filled the air. “Marietta,” “I'm listening,” I answered bluntly. I'm not sure what my feelings are right now. But I could tell I was losing interest in everything. “We are at risk,” Bella started. A conversation I wasn't ready to listen to. I felt so angry within myself. But I knew someone had to say it. Marietta’s POV I feel so lost and confused. Blinded by revenge, and sorry for the past. Could this be a way of making up for the past? Or a way of getting my revenge on everyone who has hurt me in one way or the other? Maybe I was just doing too much. “I'm sorry,” “No. Don't be sorry.” Michael reached out to me. “I abandoned you. Marietta’s POV Donovan introduced us to everyone working for him. And I agree that this was the best decision I've ever made. In a short while, my mind drifted back to Bella. “Is it Valerie?” Michael's voice startled me. Handing me a bottle of yogurt and a hamburger. “You can have mine. I'm not hungry,” Michael replied. “You have to eat something.” “Never mind. I can manage. I feel okay just by looking at you,” he said. I'm sure he was still feeling guilty for what he did. He could barely look me in the eye. “I can't wait for us to be done with this whole thing,” Michael finally broke the silence. “Me too,” I answered. I'm sure everyone knows why we ended up like this. Some were aware of our history since we were once celebrities. Here, Donovan made it clear that everyone is equal regardless of the life they lived while they were outside. “Do you want to go outside?” “Yes,” I answered quickly. “I feel people are staring too much.” We were about to leave when Donovan’
