As the guests left the art hall, Cassie stayed behind to talk to Savannah. Arden, Cora and Warren had left already.

"Hey, Savannah, great job on the auction," Cassie said watching Savannah's smile grow.

Savannah smiled. "Thanks, Cassie. I'm glad it went well."

Cassie nodded. "Yeah, it was a huge success. I'm so glad Arden could make it."

Savannah raised an eyebrow. "You two seem to be getting along well. I'm glad you made him come."

Cassie nodded. "Yeah, we are. He's a great guy."

Savannah smiled. "I'm glad to see you happy, Cassie."

"Let's cut the bullshit Savannah. I'm just going straight to the point."

Savannah looked sincerely worried. She was taken aback by Cassie's sudden change in behavior.

Cassie waved her finger around the hall. "The rest of the idiots that attended this sham auction don't know do they?"

"Know what Cassie, what are you talking about."

It had been a week since Trent was in custody but he was in a fancy prison cell. They had applied for bail multiple times but their bail request kept getting canceled. Trent was sitting on the soft couch in the beach house, staring out the window at the ocean, which was a much more pleasant view than the one he would have had if he were still in jail.He couldn't go back home for obvious reasons. His lawyers had been able to arrange for him to be placed under house arrest at the beach house, which was a much more comfortable and luxurious environment than a jail cell. The beach house was fully staffed, with a personal chef, maid, and security team, and Trent had access to a private gym, pool, and outdoor lounge area.Despite the luxurious surroundings, Trent was getting restless and anxious to clear his name and get back to his normal life. His lawyers were working hard to prepare his defense, but the wait was agonizing f
