Kenzie's POV"This is so fucking good." Jeremy says as he scoops another spoonful of ice-cream into his mouth. I laugh and look at Aiden who looks stressed. It's been a week since I listened in on their conversation and it has been bugging me the whole time. "Are you okay?" I ask and he looks at me and nods. "Yeah. I'm fine, just tired." He says sending me a small-forced- smile. "We can leave if you want. It's getting late anyway." I tell him and he looks at his watch before nodding. "Guys, we're gonna head out. See you guys tomorrow at the lake?" Aiden asks as I gather my things. "It's Friday and it's not even ten yet. Why the fuck are you guys leaving?" Dree asks and I point over to Aiden. She rolls her eyes and I smile. "See you guys tomorrow." I say before hugging them and leaving with Aiden beside me. "I know something is bothering you. Talk to me." I say as he starts the car after we get in. "I'm fine Kenz. It's nothing." "It doesn't seem like nothing because I can tell so
Kenzie's POVI lay back laughing at Jake's story about how he accidentally peed on Jasmine while they were climbing a tree. He apparently had to go really bad but was too high up and just let it rip all over her head."I would've killed you if it were me." I tell him and he laughs. "I'm going to feel so horrible tomorrow." I say running a hand down my face. "And what's worse is that I have training." I add and Jake laughs. "All things good have a consequence." He says before getting up. "It's 4 in the morning, I have to get going." He says getting up slowly and stumbling slightly. "I'll walk you to the door." I say and we both laugh as I can't get up. "It's okay. This was fun. We should do it more often." He says and I nod. "Of course." I say and he smiles. "Night. Or morning." I say and he laughs. "Good morning/night." I giggle and he walks down the hall. Shutting the door, I walk back to my bed before plopping down on it. A groan leaves me as I feel the room spinning. "Fuck."
Kenzie's POVEverything has been going great between Aiden and I since the last arguement. With graduation approa hing so fast, I'm a little on edge but it might just be the fact that we're entering a new chapter of our lives. We won't be children anymore. I've always pictured myself on graduation day surrounded by my family. My dad would be taking blurry selfies while I have my arms wrapped around my mom and my brother. I've always pictured that. That is what the perfect day looks like in my head."Kenz? Are you okay?" I hear from next to me and look up from my plate. "Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking." I say and I see Aiden frown slightly. "Penny for your thoughts?" He says nudging me slightly, a small smile playing on his lips. I know he can feel my sadness through the mate bond so I don't even try pulling his attention off the topic. "Just thinking about how great graduation would've been if my family could be be there." I say softly and he immediately grabs my hand. "Hey.
Kenzie's POV2 months later."We are graduating tomorrow. How are you guys not freaked the fuck out. Like we will officially be done with school. Like no more teachers bossing us around. No having to see people you don't like for six hours everyday anymore. This is amazing!" Jeremy rants as he paces around in Aiden's parents living room. "Can you calm down." Eva says as she flips to the next page of the books she's reading. "No. I can not calm down. How can I calm down!" "Jeremy. Shut the fuck up!" Dree shouts from the kitchen where she's making us something to eat. I laugh as he immediately stops talking before sitting down on the mat. "When's the food gonna be ready, Dree. We're starving." Derek asks and you can hear her sigh from the kitchen. "Well it was going to be ready in two minutes but I'm going to cook it even long now that you're rushing me." She stresses and Derek rolls his eyes. Everybody is stressed about tomorrow besides Eva and I. The past two months have been fi
Kenzie's POVI wake up to the beeping of my alarm at five in the morning. Groaning, I turn it off and turn onto my back. I'm graduating high school today and let me tell you, the feeling is amazing. Smiling, I sit up and stretch only to look to Aiden's side of the bed to find it empty. My mood dampens immediately at the memory of yesterdays events. Our fight turn to me kicking him out of the room. He probably has horrible back pain from sleeping on the couch in the living room and I feel bad about it at all. Okay, maybe just a little. Throwing the covers off my legs,I get out of bed and fix it before hopping into a warm shower. I scrub my whole body and wash my hair before just relishing in the heat of the water. I soon shut it off before climbing out and drying off. My usual routine of applying moisturiser to my body and then blow drying my hair commences before I apply the tiniest bit of make-up. My minimal make-up consists of foundation, powder, winged eyeliner and lipgloss.
Aiden's POVMy hand grips the wheel hard as I drive towards our school. I'm nervous as hell right now. I reach over and grab Kenzie's hand to calm myself and it immediately works. "Are you okay?" She asks squeezing my hand and I take a deep breath before nodding. "Yeah. Just a few graduation nerves running through me." I lie and she gives me a small smile that immediately makes me feel horrible for lying to her not only today but for the past two months. My surprise is what I've been hiding from her with my father. He was on my ass about telling her at first but I told him the plan and he's okay with me telling her this way. The guilty feeling ate me up throughout all the arguments we had about me hiding stuff from her and me acting like an ass just to cover up the fact that she was right. She's probably going to beat my ass when I tell her. I pull into the parking lot of the school and my hand leaves hers as I fix my hair in the mirror out of nervousness. "You sure you're okay?
Kenzie's POV"Pass me the ball, Drew!" I shout as I get frustrated with my older brother dribbling me every time I get close to him. "You have to take it from me, dumbass." He says taunting me and I fold my arms over my chest."Mama!!!!" I scream and I hear my mom sigh. "Andrew give your sister her ball back." My mom says as she pulls out a weed in her garden, her chocolate hair shining under the sunlight."Fine. Take it." He says before kicking the ball hard. A scream leaves me as I duck and the ball misses me by an inch. "Andrew Fred Lathen! Why would you do that?" My mom yells as she comes to check if I'm okay. I pout as she inspects my face before kissing my head. "You're grounded." I hear my Dad say from the lawn chair and I give Andrew my most evil smile. I stick my tongue out at him. "Come on, Dad. I had plans tonight." He whines throwing his hands in the air. "Should've thought of that before almost decapitating your sister with a soccer ball." He says flipping the page in
Kenzie's POVI wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. Groaning, I peek at the caller ID only to throw my head back. "It's too early for this." I mumble to myself."Hello." I say answering. "Kenz. You need to get to Alpha's house right now. There's been an accident." Adrienne says and I can hear that she's been crying by the tremble in her voice. I sit up quickly only to feel dizzy. "What happened?" I ask running a hand through my hair. "It's Aiden. He's in a coma." She says and my whole world slows down for a split second before every memory of Aiden rushes through my head at a thousand miles and hour. "W-What happened." I ask. Too many emotions are running through my body right now. "Just get here as fast as you can please." She says before hanging up.A sudden wave of calmness hits me and I get out of bed before walking to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I put some proper clothes on before grabbing my phone and walking to Aiden's parents house. I get to the
